One of the animals mentioned in the Quran is the 'mosquito'. When the Meccan polytheists heard the verses mentioning large-bodied animals such as elephants and camels, they did not object to the Prophet and the companions who accepted his invitation. However, they were looking for an excuse with candles to object to the verses and make fun of them. However, God Almighty says in His book: “O people! An example has been brought to you; now listen to it: If all your false gods, besides Allah, were to come together, they would not be able to create a fly. And if a fly were to seize something from them, they would not be able to take it back. And the seeker is helpless, and so is the sought.” (Al-Hajj, 73) “The example of those who take protectors other than Allah is like that of the spider. The spider also makes a nest, but the weakest of nests is the spider's nest-if only they knew!” (Ankabut, 41) When he gave examples of small creatures such as flies and spiders and mentioned their names, as in the verses above, the polytheists began to object. As if they had found the opportunity they were looking for to belittle the Quran. How could Allah mention such lowly and small things? Could He ever? Almighty Allah answered their objections with the 26th verse of Surah Al-Baqarah: “Allah does not shy away from making an example of a gnat or something smaller than it. Those who believe know that it is the truth from their Lord. But those who disbelieve say, “What did Allah mean by this example?” Allah leads astray many by it and guides many to the right path. In fact, those whom Allah leads astray are those who are already on the wrong path.” The Arabic name of the mosquito mentioned in this verse is 'BEUD'. It appears in the verse as BEUDAT. The letter 't' at the end of the word gives a feminine meaning to the word. In other words, the verse refers to the female mosquito. In addition, the pronoun 'hâ', which is added to the end of the word 'FEVKAHÂ' (beyond that) in the continuation of the verse and refers to the mosquito, is used to express femininity. In other words, the female mosquito was specifically chosen as an example! There is certainly great wisdom in the Quran's reference to the female mosquito in particular. However, this wisdom emerged centuries after the verse was revealed, as a result of a series of scientific studies. As you read in detail in the article MOSQUITO, the mosquito that sucks human blood and uses blood for its eggs is the female mosquito. The Quran gave the female mosquito as an example to point out this truth.

Sahih al-Bukhari 146 Narrated `Aisha: The wives of the Prophet (ﷺ) used to go to Al-Manasi, a vast open place (near Baqi` at Medina) to answer the call of nature at night. `Umar used to say to the Prophet (ﷺ) "Let your wives be veiled," but Allah's Apostle did not do so. One night Sauda bint Zam`a the wife of the Prophet (ﷺ) went out at `Isha' time and she was a tall lady. `Umar addressed her and said, "I have recognized you, O Sauda." He said so, as he desired eagerly that the verses of Al-Hijab (the observing of veils by the Muslim women) may be revealed. So Allah revealed the verses of "Al-Hijab" (A complete body cover excluding the eyes).
