I can recommend competitive mode. I mean the one you reach from the start page. It is casual, and you don't need to fear being stomped by 100% pros, and it has a lot more team play.

Gather 2 of your friends if you want to bet on a pyro being there since it's easy to "justify" a kick on a pyro due to the state mvm and pyros are in, or 3 if you can't. Then go mann up, KICK EVERYONE ON THERE, find more matches. *Fuck up the slot machines. Ruin their ability to gamble time and money away. Make them have to deal with how Casual is going right this moment. Make them understand that they will not get another tour until Valve fixes things.* And if you feel bad? Only focus on Mann Up. Guaranteed, you'll find bots people are causally playing with to do their tours. Making them a part of the problem, since they're working *with* the bots. The other official mvm modes don't give valve a cent.

Some more hot takes: -ammo should be very limited on all classes except heavies and medic syringe guns plus other weapons that make sense (flamethrowers example but not rocket launchers nor scatterguns like where do they even put all that ammo on them?). This would better encourage balancing around limiting ammo and making engineer dispensers more useful as well as giving some extra weapons and buffs like heavy carrying a surplus droppable ammo crate and sniper's cozy camper giving high ammon surplus. Limiting sniper spy and scout some of the highest dealing single damage output classes to 9 + 1 extra in chamber (sniper 1 for each merc), 12 (6 + 1 extra revolver magazine), and 24 (6+3 extra full reloads) would encourage more balanced gameplay as they would need to play conservatively being high range high mobility stealth and insta kill classes. Others like demo and soldier are slower but need more ammo to jump around. Pyro and heavy needing high amount for their primaries and having surplus for shotguns or flares. Engineer and medic being some of the only other few with high surplus ammo due to being real squishy and low health. -on that hot take add lower ammo for higher dmg dealing weapons and higher ammo count for lower dmg dealing weapons. -there should be a subclass for each class using 2ndaries or melee Ex scout a scattergun that is more utility or a backpack like item to rely on pistols. Soldier has banners and melee memes Pyro giving him more flamethrowers and projectile options like the dragon's fury and the flares Heavy fat scout just move shotguns to primary so secondaries can be food lunchbox items. That or some wearables like sniper and soldier Demo is demoknight Engy would be cool if he could rock a pistol but revolvers exclusive to him as he is from Texas and we are BIG on revolvers. Medic idk maybe melee medic with mediguns swapped out for medikit wearables like a field medic should have satchels and grants small buffs to him especially / specifically his syringe guns Sniper more huntsman options as crossbows are cool concept from ranged sniper to CQC sniper Spy replacing backstab with slightly higher melee knives and revolvers that would grant him better stats to be a gun spy. Also buffing cloak and reworking sappers. It'd turn from backstab chaining stealth class to more a sabateuor or support. Like a sapper that traps buildings to explode when stepped on or one that gives teammates heals and ammos from dispensers until the sapper destroys them.

After spending 30 minutes tring to get on a non-botted server this morning, I am going to stop playing and uninstall it until this is fixed. I can't waste my limited time looking for a fun server.

The save tf2 thing is like wanting to save the Simpsons. Either stick with dedicated servers like we did in the old days anyway, or just move on. Them investing time in the game is not worth it. I'd rather they move on and make new things. I don't want their old games holding them back because they still have dedicated fans.

I don’t care how many users there are compared to bots, I don’t care how old the game is, I don’t care what valves “culture” is. There is still a store in tf2, which means potential for more money. They have an obligation to get their head out of their ass and fix it or remove their store.

As a medical player (not a main, but I still love him), I genuinely love ubering engineers. If they happen to be playing a battle engi, that's great. But if they're just a normal engi, good God is it fun to watch them scramble.

For those who think it's only useful to stop sappers from getting diamondback or destruction points... Sappers prevent *destroying* a building too. A well timed push can result in a frontier justice engi being unable to cash in crits resulting in a funny moment. Also Red Tape Recorder will ruin your life as a Gunslinger Engi.
