Tried painting mine gold. Awesome metallic gold paint turned to a dull golden brown after applying the clear coat. Have sanded back and painted again, going to try with a different clear sealer to try and maintain a better metallic Gold finish. Awesome video thanks

Im a little late to the party. Pretty sure there is no difference in sound at all as they are the same exact microphone. The only difference is what you dont show or talk about is that the pro version has a headphone monitor port whereas the other does not.

I prefer the balanced sound of the VRX10 as compared to the pro. A lot more soothing and resistant whereas the pro is very sharp. Thank you for the brief review and showcase of both mics. I know which one I will be purchasing 🙌

Your idea about "mic stories" would be excellent. I personally enjoy hearing about how mics are used and why they are chosen. I gotta agree about the reviews, I've watched so many my ears are worn out! With the compression youtube applies to the sound it's also hard to trust what you're hearing. I love the 416. In my ignorance I use it for singing as well. I had various large diaphragm mics and they can't handle my less than ideal recording setup with lots of background noises and generally me not taking adequate care of the mics. The 416 has never let me down, I've treated it like garbage at times, I don't need shock mounts, can get away without pop filters, I pull it out of the bag, often use it hand held and off I go. Gun and run. This video is proof again it's a great mic, for voice over as well as singing. And, did you know, it can do boom recordings too! LOL
