I used to spend a ton of time in Cedarburg at my grandma's house in my youth! In your very first scene on the bridge - that used to be a VERY long time ago a bridge for the trolley line and it had a very much smaller narrow walking/bike path along side the tracks (It had stopped being a trolley line by the time I was a kid - i'm now in my mid 40s). Another thing I miss is the Red Owl grocery store over on mill st near Washington Ave! I think the building is now a commercial building with a bunch of random businesses in it. I do miss that town, it was very quiet and a great place to visit!

Great video! My wife and I discovered Cedarburg almost 10 years ago and just love coming back whenever we can. We usually stay at the Washington house and just walk, eat, drink, and shop is this awesome little town. The people are so nice and chill. Highly recommend visiting.

Oh, the Washington House... It's actually haunted. 1st floor actually.. 101 and 102 have some history to them because before they were hotel rooms it was a Doctors office. I worked as a kid at the Washington House when it first re-opened in the 80's. There were stories passed around between staff for years, but it never was really acknowledged to the public. The basement has a really creepy vibe. I never had any experiences.. but you wouldn't be the first to "be kept up at night". The Woolen Mill is also reportedly haunted as well. Restaurants in the Mill that came and went through out the early years had staff that would report table settings being moved, and plates of food mysteriously showing up in the oven. I grew up in Cedarburg and I know that most of these stories were never told outside of the locals mainly because "Ghosts" weren't really a big "tourist" getter back in the 80's and 90's when Cedarburg was trying to establish itself as a destination. It really is one of a kind place in Wisconsin.. Glad I got to grow up there.

My parents lived in Victor for many years. They are both gone now, but I'm looking for someone who lived there and knew Bob and Colleen Maxwell. My dad passed in 2005, and my mom moved to TN with me, and then passed in 2010. We now are looking for a picture of the house they lived in. I think it was on 4th Street, but no map of Victor shows the front of the houses. Hoping someone knows where they lived and can tell us the address. They only used the P.O. Box for getting mail.

Cripple Creek was never the capital of Colorado. It's always been Denver. It came close to being the capital, but Denver got the prize. I really do like your video and the scenes, but you also got a few other historic parts wrong. Lived in both Cripple Creek and Victor for several years, until 1991, and my friends, and I, would go up there from Colorado Springs back in the 70's to explore all of the old buildings and mines......Before the mine took it all over and removed all of the great historical buildings and mines on that mountain. Now it's just an empty pit for the sake of money. Such a great loss of history. Winfield Scott Stratton, the owner of the Stratton mine next to Victor had a theory and he called it the "wine glass theory" He had the idea that the center of the caldara where the minerals had come up from was the stem of the wine glass and might have the largest concentration of gold ore. while the areas that were mined was merely the top of the wine glass where the minerals had spread out. He began to buy up as many mines as he could, but died before he could test his theory. His theory was centered around the old Cresson mine, and after looking at google earth of the new mining operation, it sure seems to be centered over the old Cresson mine now. After knowing the district like I did, and the history of that once great mining district, It truly is a shame they let that mine destroy what was there. Big money talks, History walks......But Cripple Creek and Victor, along with many of the smaller towns, will always hold a very special place in my heart and some great memories.

Awesome video!!The old St.Nicholas hotel is definitely haunted,It used to be a hospital! my friends grandma took care of the place when it was abandoned in the 90s. I used to live on the same street. It was a blast growing up there! If you stay on the 3rd floor you can hear a little girl running up and down the halls at 3am! And there is an underground tunnel that goes to the church across the street. The rumor is they did experiments on people and transported them back and forth through the tunnel☠️ also the imperial hotel is haunted as well!

You should have seen Cripple Creek and Victor in the mid 70s when I lived in Teller County, it was raw and not gussied up with casinos like it is now. You could go into a lot of the mine works in the surrounding hills and still see the old equipment still in place from when they were abandoned years ago. No trip into Cripple Creek and Victor was complete until you drove the Gold Camp road down into Colorado Springs. This was the old narrow guage railroad bed complete with tunnels and I understand some of these have collapsed now.
