Thanks brother great video
Your welcome .
Might be good to test it before you put the membrane and cover back on
Is this a durango 2003? Great job with the video by the way. Speak to me like a child lol, i need all the details to get it!
Your welcome
It worked perfectly, thank you. I did cut the string too early because it wouldn't open. I pulled the ECU fuse for 20 seconds to reset it. hit the lock and unlock about 4 times and all was good. All sync'd up and working!!
I expected 37 screws and broken clips. Thanks for posting this.
Your welcome.
always like watching the old school vids well over the ones that kids make today
Thanks, and your welcome.
Excellent explanation, thank you so much.
Your welcome
Thanks great explanation.
Your welcome.
Only video i found that was what i needed. Thank you so much
Your welcome .
Great job loved the way you explained things step plains straight to the point
Your welcome
Thanks helped a lot!
Your welcome
Thank you so much for sharing this Information I am actually going to attempt this myself because of your great instructions. 😊
Thank you and you are welcome .
No one wants to film the rear bank on this car. I wonder why.
Not sure what you mean . Do you mean rear plugs ?
Nic can you show us how to do bay 1. 3. And 6.
Sorry I don't have that vehicle any more
You did a fantastic job on this vid friend. You're a natural at explaining things clearly and methodically. Again great job, and thanks.
Thank you kindly I'm glad I could help .
doesnt change the back three though thats what i need lmao
Pull the intake or plenum off .
I replaced fog lights but only passenger side works, drivers sude will flicker upon turning car on wich tells me thers power
Look for a bad or dirty connection.or move the wire around see if it does anything if it does you have a short .
Will it be same for a 01' e39 530 i???
I'm not sure sometimes you can call auto parts store to find out
My hatch won’t open but I reset it by removing the fuse and it works but only for a day or two. I can hear the motor and everything work fine but should I just replace it or what else can it be???
You will probably have to do some more research . But I have been told by a few people that they disconnected the battery for about thirty minutes and that worked .
@@angelo.campbell4403 I ended up doing that yesterday and it worked. This morning I tried opening and it went back to not working. Thanks!
What is the string for
After you get the lock in place pull the string to activate it. If I remember correctly.
Thanks. Followed your video and all works fine now.
Your welcome
Thank you for information.
Your welcome
Good info thanks for sharing
Thank you and your welcome .
Great instructions. Easy to replace. Thanks...
Your welcome .
Exactly what I was looking for, thank you for the video.
You are welcome .
Where is the fuse location
Below the dash on the left side of the steering column .
You will see the fuse box cover .If you have a manual to your vehicle it will tell you .
@@angelo.campbell4403 thank you
Your welcome
Thanks so much for this Angelo! This was a perfect guide. I followed this step by step and was able to replace my latch exactly as demonstrated. The only thing I had to do additionally was reset the ECU which just required I disconnect the negative side of the battery for 10 minutes and then reconnect it. Everything worked like a charm after that.
Your welcome .
So I just changed it out but now it's not doing anything at all... does that mean I have to reset mine as well?
Where did you get the new latch? You can try to disconnect the battery for about thirty minutes and see what happens. I've been told that the after market latches don't work Sometimes.
@@angelo.campbell4403 oh no... ordered it off of Amazon. I'm going to try n unhook the battery now and see what happens thank you!
I have had people order from Amazon and not had any problems . Electronics some times can be a little harder to deal with .
Great video. You are the only one that clearly explains replacing the latch mechanism. Yeah, keeping that string on was important. Had a moment of panic when the electronic lock wouldn't pull the liftgate close, then wouldn't unlock after I slammed it close.
Your welcome I'm glad you got it fixed .
Nice video buddy! Thanks for the lesson and appreciate this
Your welcome glad I could help .
Great freaking video! Very well explained especially the air bleed. Thank you.
Your welcome
Question why does the transmission oil goes through there ?
There is a tank inside of the radiator that trans fluid travels through to keep the trans fluid from getting to hot .
@@angelo.campbell4403 thank you !!!!
Your welcome .
Can you still do this if you don't have the torque wrench
Always better to have a torque wrench but just make Sure they are snug don't over tighten .They don't need to be that tight especially in a plastic intake manifold.
For instance you tighten a starter a lot more than you tighten a little plastic sensor .
appreciate this... thanks brother
Your welcome .
Thank you for the video. I changed mine but code is still on, my truck dies on me
thanks for the info, I just bought a 2003 4Runner with a bad latch like this.
Your welcome .
thanks for helping save me some money!
Your welcome glad it worked out for you .
I watched this video on Sunday, received the part Monday ($65 Amazon) and had it installed in 20 minutes! Boom. Don't cut off the string that comes with your new latch b/c if it doesn't work (electrically), you'll need to pull it to open the latch until your on-board computer recognizes the new unit. Simply disconnect the car battery, count to 10, and reconnect the car battery. Presto....the auto locking rear latch is now recognized by the computer and you can now cut the string off. Easy! Thank you for your video.
Your welcome.
What year model? I thought it was just my push button but it’s not. Replaced it and it still doesn’t want to open. I can get it to open a few times and suction back down but it sounds like something in the computer side of it is clicking to make the actuator engage but it doesn’t want to engage I put some penetrating oil on the springs and open and close it a few times it’s still doing it so I guess I just need to replace the actuator
The latch is probably bad but you can try to disconnect the battery and reconnect and see if that helps and check your connections .
Where have you found this part? Can you send me a link?
I went to the Toyota dealer .
Thank you sir for great video.
Your welcome
Hey there, What is that reservoir that is under the battery.???
Sorry I didn't respond . I don't drive that car any more . I do remember a box for the air flow to the air filter .
Where is the number one plug at
Number one cylinder is the first plug on the back of the engine passenger side .sorry I didn't get back to you sooner .
How much does a new latch assembly cost?
Sorry I don't remember .
Bought a genuine Toyota latch on Amazon about 4 months ago for a 1994 4Runner for $176. Our local Toyota dealership listed one at around $300. EBay Motors has "bogus" ones for about half the price, but the reviews convinced me to buy genuine parts. Already had a bad experience buying a a gas cap that wouldn't stay tight, causing the Check Engine warning.
I just did mine today. I hope you know you’re still helping :)
Thank you glad I could help .
You sir have my thanks.
Thank you and you're welcome .
Thanks man.
Your welcome .
Wow nice video 👍 thanks 4 video more video 👍
Thank you and your welcome .
What happens if you do pull the bleeder screw out
If you don't put it back in you will loose your fluid .And sometimes they are hard to put back in depending on where they are located.
Thank you for getting right to the point. Very helpful video.
Your welcome .
Very clear direction. So simple, I want to do myself.
With a few tools you should be able to .
2005 Tahoe. Took 5 minutes. Thanks!
Your welcome .
One of my threads are damaged on my spark plug and the mechanic says he can't fix it???
Helicoil is something you can use depending on how hard it is to get to .You need to find some body who knows how to use it The hole needs to be tapped out and helicoil is used to rethread it .You need to make sure you get all the metal out of the cylinder after you tap the hole out The other option is replace the head .
Nice easy directions. It seems like I've replaced switches on cars 40 years ago and you'd have to drain the engine oil and coolant, scribe the hinges and remove the hood, the radiator, all engine accessories, put a jack under the transmission and remove the driveshaft, etc., etc...
That's funny and I know what you mean .It's nice sometimes to come across something that's not as bad as you thought it would be .
Can you access the license plate screw there? I want to lock my plate down to prevent theft. Thanks!
I would think so but I can't remember . Some go through the door and a few don't .If you pull the plate off you will probably be able to tell .
