need to start posting more videos !!!!!!!
Great video
Hey where can i buy that pump
Are u pushing pressure or pulling vacuum?
He stresses at the beginning that it has to be pressure. Mityvac sells a vacuum/pressure pump for about $50.
Your simulating Boost (positive pressure your Turbo is generating!)
How many turns to get to 8 psi
You will need to contact your tuner. The turns from stock is not the recommended procedure for setting crack pressure. Like stated in the video, counting turns is just a good starting point. The hand pump with gauge is the only accurate way to set crack pressure.
What’s a turbo r factory setting at?
The issue with the delay is in the tune!!! You need to adjust the torque-based decel, or completely turn it off and rely strictly on dashpot settings. Torque based decel causes the RPM's to hang when releasing the throttle under load in drive, which causes the engine to delay going into vacuum, which delays opening of the bov, and causes compressor surge. Im dealing with this now on my F150 with Tial Q bov.
Yes sir, you're absolutely right. I no longer have this truck, and have since learned a lot about DBW throttle bodies and BOVs. Sounds like you you're on the right track on yours though!
@@1WAYBAD Do you remember what you ended up doing? Did you get it squared away with your tuner? If so who tuned it?
@@codycat91 at the time, I went back to the stock electronic valve. I was running SSI Tunes/Shawn Ellis.
@@1WAYBAD Did you have to get a new pipe from Full Race for your factory bov?
@@codycat91 yes sir I did.
I ordered a full race intercooler kit for my 2014 F150 and I opted for the TialQ Mechanical BOV but noone has given instruction for what to do with the stock EBOV and wire that goes to it? did you just unplug it and remove the EBOV and cap off the pipe?
Buy a 1/2 watt 36 ohm resistor, can buy 100 of them on Amazon for $7.. get 2 wires and solder the leads of the 36 ohm resistor to the 2 short wires then shrink wrap the resistor and solder points to protect them from heat and water contamination then use wire taps to tap into the 2 wires that plug into the stock bypass valve...the ecu only cares about something being plugged in and that its working.. youve now bypassed the shitty electric bypass valve they installed.. and now went full mechanical with the tial.. or if you arent handy with wiring.. disconnect tolhe stock valve and plug it in and zip tie it under the intercooler someplace.. and it wont throw a CEL..hope that helps!
Damm, I have the 120hp base for now but Im hoping to have your 120hp alpha I tune done. Seems to be the best gain wise, 120hp tune out there!
We would love for you to have it! It really does wake up the 120 models.
Nice lights😋
How much would it cost for you make me one for my 2012 sportsman 850 xp please contact me on facebook charmz51466
e85 tunes any manufactor really are potent as hell. I went with powertune stage 5 E85 with velocity intake and KWI clutching. pwrtune is the only one who thought it through. 15psi eco tune and 20+psi sport tune. you don't want high boost all the time especially trail running and what not. why run the turbo to hell when you don't need to. I wish others thought about this! nice job though guys. I want some cams with mine next see if I can get more off the line acceleration. people want to see accurate 0-60 and 1/8 mile times more then comparisons I believe just a thought! keep it up though guys competition makes everything better
If you will get that KWI clutch out of your machine, it would be a lot quicker. We sale KWI, and it leaves a lot to be desired. Just FYI, all of my tunes run lower boost when in Eco mode...
Jeez, I really don't mean to stir the pot here... but isn't that a Visco-Lok vs. a Smart-Lok? Just sayin'...
Turbo Brian that is a fact. So you believe one has an advantage over the other in a drag race on the concrete?
Oh, man. I don't know. It's just a variable. I mean Smart-Lok is always going to have an advantage off the line. But, enough to matter? Driver reaction probably counts for more. For the sake of science, tho, it might be cool to time the cars with all 3 tunes as opposed to drag race to see if there is a measurable difference...
Turbo Brian I hear ya. On the concrete we seen no advantage to either machine. We even ran them both with the Alpha II flash, and it was which machine/driver got the hit, crossed the line first.
yea but you don't use full diff loc when drag racing that be dumb maybe people do but I don't qwith my smart loc I use standar visco loc its all you need
Man that thing is a beast on E85!
It didnt look to me like both left at the same time
Yeah, it does appear that way. The truth is, the stock tune has such a dead spot "lag" on the hit, it just is that much slower at the launch. We had to do a few launches to get it as close as what it was. I guess I could have just gave to stock tune the hit, but then that's not a true comparison either.
I just ordered some led lights and wasn't sure if I got the right ones but seeing what you have I did :) now it's the fun part of taking apart the headlights
gorgeous truck buddy, is that the southbend rattle my ear is picking up?
bowenrider lol, close. Viair ceramic dual disk to be exact.
they look fucking clean bruh
What about your control arms. All I can find is 1.25 by superatv plus 2in spring lift. I want to run at least 30s with proper fender space
Eric Heflin CATVOS makes a 3" stretched lift that will allow you to run up to 32s with no problem. That's what I had before the big lift.
WAY BAD hell yeah thanks. I just bought a 14 limited edition today. They threw in a set of 32 razorbacks for 500 new
Where did you get your grille from?
Factory grille. Truck is a Sport model.
Are you still happy with these lights and the work Marcus did?
The light output of the lights, yes absolutely! The work from Marcus, NOT AT ALL.
Thanks for the reply, definitely help in my decision.
Sorry it took me so long to reply. Didn't see the comment pop up on my notifications. Yes, there are much better places to get this kind of work done, or do it yourself. If I do this again, I will definitely be doing it myself.
No problem. I also decided I would do it myself when the time comes.
This was oddly satisfying
I know I'm super late but any for four gens?
the sport smoked out ones
Looks really nice.
where did you get that d ring?
Any oil field supply house can get you one. Since I made this one, there's a company now that sells these already made to slide right into your hitch.
thanks!
Wow un believable man , good luck with your projects . I've two engines blow up cause of Shawn Ellis tune. I have all the prove in the world to back up my accusations
What let go in the engines to cause them to fail?
+WAY BAD The techs said it was the calibrations done by Shaw Ellie's
Rite. Did they show you what actually failed inside the engine? Was your truck still under warranty?
+Santos yes they did and to prove it was Shawn Ellie's tune (calibrations) we ran the same time on another Ecoboost and the out come was the same . Blown engine due to his bad calibrations
+Santos So what failed internally in the engine? Was it still under warranty?
I'm sorry your tuned by SSI , your engine will blow up sooner or later
I know... That actually was my whole intentions behind going with Shawn's tunes, so that I could go ahead and blow this engine to pieces to go forged internals. Can you believe it has been 3 years and it's STILL in one piece. So you can only imagine my absolute disgust I have for SSI tunes.
WAY BAD thought eco motors were already forged internals.
Ecoboost World Yup
Ecoboost is forged internals... they can handle 600+ hp on stock crank and interanls with no issues.. MPT tunes have pushed their 1st gen 3.5 to the limits on stock i teranls still holding strong! And its a 600+ hp truck
Can you tell me what brand swithback bulk your using as your 3157? Im having issues with mine...
+KiernanWalker I honestly couldn't tell ya. They were already in the headlight assemblies when I got them. So, I never even seen the name of the bulbs.
Could the Tial BOV or the Turbo smart BOV suck up water if it was submerged in water while off roading?
+diypunx Any BOV that is vented to atmosphere, and is completely submerged has the possibility of ingesting water.
How do they do at night? Are they as bright as stock? I have heard people getting rid of these because they werent functional at night.
These are not some cheap Recon or some other knock off projectors. These are very bright and clear. I have a little over $1500 in this setup. They better put off more light than stock!
+WAY BAD well the look great but 1500 holy moly. I guess all my money went to the compounds. how about shooting a video at night?
+Dev Everything Yeah, good lighting unfortunately isn't cheap. If I get a chance to get some night time footage, I will tag you for sure. Not to mention, any self respecting diesel owner knows, more boost is ALWAYS more important than seeing at night! ;)
+WAY BAD So after researching it looks like you are right. All the parts to do this cost me around 550. I currently have the headlights apart and it is alot of work. morimoto and oracle smd's are what I choose for the brands. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction (I almost bought some junk off ebay)
You'll be so glad you went this route I promise you! Those 2 brands you picked are two of the top brands for the industry. I'm getting ready to redo mine. The junk switch backs the fool I had do mine used, have all gone bad. I'm going to be doing it myself this time round. I got some pretty shitty work come to find out...
So was it better with the 8lb spring or 10lbs spring i have the on3 bov and need to change springs it has a delay in completly dumping need to find out what works best
Neither worked properly. The 10 was to stiff, not opening when coming off boost, and the 8 was to light, staying open at idle. You could possibly shim the 8lbs spring to make it some where in between the 8 and 10 to try and make it work. I took mine off and went back to the factory BOV.
Is this with the 10lbs spring?
No, this is the lighter 8lbs spring.
Where do I send my money? I want these!
How did you did your headlights?
where where you at
All clips in this video were shot in Northwest Louisiana. Mainly High Lifter Off Road Park.
Those beefy tires! Lol and that huge exuast!! Oh my I wanna get a 2nd gen Cummins just like yours bro!
Kyle Taylor i believe that is a fourth generation ram, 06 to 09 maybe?
That's so badass man. Good job. I have an 05 hemi I want to do something similar to
Do it! You won't regret it I promise you. Especially with an '05. The light output on those were sub par to say the least.
What width halos are you running?
My DS2 projector lenses are 3". So I would assume a 4" halo to fit around the lens shroud and all. That's just a guess really.
I mean the width of the halo ring itself. I know there's anywhere from an 80mm to a 110mm
Ah... I would say between 90-100mm if I had to guess. They are a pretty thick ring.
Do you know if you need reflectors in your turn signals for you to be able to see the switchbacks?
O and where could I find it as well
Hey I was just wanting to know what kind of bov is that.. if u don't mind telling me..thank u
It's the Tial Q blow off valve. Any store that carries Tial products can sell you one.
Ford is dumb this engine should be in the dang v6 mustang!!!!!
agree
I'd love to see the 3.5 EB in more cars, but they arent dumb for not putting this in the mustang. If they had, it would be too close to the v8 in terms of performance and would be around the same price. Whats the point of having two engine platforms competing neck and neck with each other in the same car? The v6 and now the EB 4 banger are meant to be cheaper, less powerful alternatives to the GT.
Not really.. its to close of an option to the 5.0 in terms of power. The "GT" has to be king and the V6 ecoboost is to easy to make fast lol
how much for everything?
I have right at $1500 tied up in my whole setup. That's buying factory lights, then having the work done to them.
alright thanks man! i wanna send mine in as well. your set up is sick af.
MrEliasd13 I appreciate it man! Well worth it IMO.
I want to get the awesome sound of the Tial Q bov but do not want the full race intercooler. Is it the Tial Q bov a direct replacement for the factory bov in the 2014 F150 EcoBoost?
No, it's not a direct replacement. The factory BOV is electronic. In fact, on the 13&14 model years the Tial does not work properly. Since this video, I have in fact removed the Tial from my truck, and went back to the factory electronic BOV. The Tial doesn't work properly with the drive by wire throttle system.
Thanks for the response! What would you recommend to get that cool sound and still function properly?
To be honest with you, the factory elec BOV sounds pretty cool when you vent it to atmosphere. I routed the factory one to atmosphere and cut the canister on the end of it off. Doesn't sound to bad, and works like it's suppose to. I have a video of the factory one vented to atmosphere as well.
WAY BAD When you vented to the atmosphere did you use a filter at all or just let it blow uncovered and if so what was the filter that you used? thanks
Jacob Luther I've never used any type of filter on any of my BOVs. The only reason you would want to use a filter on a BOV, would be to quieten down. It will always be pressurized air coming from the BOV, so it's not going to ingest anything into your intake track or engine.
is that factory pipes you installed Tial Q on or aftermarket? if so which pipes
That is a Full-Race inter cooler setup. It came from them with the flange welded on the piping. All the piping is from them.
dude i need these for my 1500 ram
Hit up Marcus at hidretrofitkit.com he can hook you up! Just be ready to open your wallet...
That second guy is probbaly wishing he had outlaws lol
You still got your bike?
