While I enjoy Batman Beyond, it just kinda rubs me the wrong way how little of a fuck Terry gives when he's fighting the villains. While TAS put a lot of focus on humanizing the villains, and Bruce would always try to rehabilitate them, here Terry will, nine times out of ten, just either kill or cripple his villains. It just feels cruel and cynical, especially with how many of them just get fates worse than death.

The reason Parallax was such a fantastic villain was because we had gotten to know hom as a hero. It made his fall tragic and his motives convincing. Compare this to Sinestro. For the longest time, we had never seen Sinestro as anything but a villain so his time as a hero was impossible to imagine. Emerald Dawn gave us our first glimpse of him as a good guy and the Geoff Johns run showed us the more human side of our favorite fear-wielding tyrant.

I disagree about the Terrific Trio, what hsppened to them was tragic but then they were willing to kill everyone in Gotham all because of their personal tragedy. They would've have destroyed lives that had nothing to do with their perdicament and they did it without a care in the world. Batman had to do it, they didn't deserve their "accident" but they did deserve their deaths.

As far as I know, no one has ever verified the claim that Moore publicly or privately endorsed the JLU adaptation. It gets perpetuated on the internet all of the time, but without it being verified I find it nebulous. All I know for sure about Alan Moore is he insists on the fact that he has made comics (specifically Watchmen) that he deems unfilmable, and that only work in the comics medium. Because the adaptations of his work like From Hell and League of Extraordinary Gentlemen didn’t please him, he decided to have his name removed from future adaptations. As far as I know, JLU S1E2 would have come out before or around the time that Alan Moore asked for his name to be removed from works, so it isn’t crazy to think it would’ve slipped by without his specific approval. We have to acknowledge that Moore didn’t just come to hate the comics industry overnight but has become gradually more and more disillusioned by it over a period of 30-something years

Yeah, this show got _pretty_ dark at points. For example, in Return of the Joker, Tim Drake physically turning into the Joker. Even _Bruce_ is horrified, and that is a man who has seen some shit!

As a major *Gotham* fanboy, I feel obligated to state that _aCtUaLlY_ , the look that you presented as his first one (19m20s) is actually his third look, played by David W Thompson. Quick recap, as this show has given us 4 great designs for Jonathan Crane just in season 4 alone => -First Scarecrow look: Season 4 episodes 1 ("Pax Penguina") & 2 ("The Fear Reaper"), played by the great Charlie Tahan, last seen in season 1 (this is my favorite Scarecrow costume from this show). -Second Scarecrow: Season 4 episode 16 ("One of my 3 soups"), the costume that Jonathan Crane puts together in Arkham Asylum, just a bag over his head by his voice, demeanor and walk all look great; very simple look, but like Mad Hatter's it has a "cosplay/DIY" charm to it; the version that Jérôme calls "Bag Head". Played by Charlie Tahan's replacement, who got a big role in the show _Ozark_ and decided to leave, and since "Ozark" was a huge hit, it was probably a good career move) David W Thompson. - Third Scarecrow: the "bag head" that you presented as his first look, inspired by his *Arkham Knight* design, from the hood to the special syringes gloves/gas dispensers => Season 4 episodes 17 ("Mandatory Brunch Meeting") & 18 ("That's Entertainment") & 21 ("One Bad Day") -Fourth Scarecrow, the one that you presented as the second one in your ranking => season 4 episode 22 ("No Man's Land"), the first of his costumes with the snazzy hat, that he'll keep in season 5 when he has his whole gang and all. ...ok, now that this *Gotham* itch has been scratched, time to move on to *Titans* !
