      Sorry to hear you are having issues, but this is a fairly common problem with all RTK mowers. Those tree canopies can throw quite the wrench into the operation depending on the time of year. The first you might consider is to adjust the operating schedule and see if you find better performance. Since the constellations are on the move, there are certain times of day (or night) where the connection may be stronger due to co-viewing more satellites. A step further might be to make that a separate zone that you can manage more granularly and not impact the areas of the lawn that are not experiencing issues. A third and final suggestion, without knowing the extent of the issue, it could be an opportunity to landscape around that area and remove the need for mowing with mulch + flowers or maybe a fire pit area (if you don't already have one) or a natural habitat zone. I hope the schedule adjustment is enough to resolve the issue. If not, do reach out to your local dealer and discuss other potential solutions. Thank you for the comment.

    Can the base be installed on a cement pad???

    • @AutmowRoboticMowing
      @AutmowRoboticMowing Před 8 dny

      Definitely! As a matter of fact, we often install base stations on cement or paver bases for a more permanent, professional install. Instead of the base station screws, concrete anchors and washers roughly the diameter of the inset on the base station should take care of it. With all of that said, try and minimize the amount of time the mower spends on the cement pad. The studded wheels cause considerable vibration that can cause problems with internals. Thanks for the question, hope that helps.

    So interesting question. What happens if my local Kress dealer disappears? Is my $2500-3000 mower bricked? Do I pay for a subscription?

    • @AutmowRoboticMowing
      @AutmowRoboticMowing Před 8 dny

      That is an interesting question. In the short answer, no, your investment is not bricked and you won't need to pay any additional subscription fees. The antenna used should have others nearby and will ideally be replaced or stay where it is in a timely manner. The most notable change you'll have is not having someone nearby for service and support. Unless there is another nearby, you may wait longer and have to deal more with remote support than local.

    I highly recommend staying away from mammotion. I have owned a version 1 Luba 5000 for a year now. The rubber seals around the cutting motors disintegrated within 6 months. I contacted mommotion. They wanted pictures, I sent ten pictures taken at different angles showing that the rubber seals are all shredded and disintegrating. That was over three months ago. I have tried connecting them again. By phone, I get put on hold and they NEVER come back after being on HIOLD for over THREE hours. I email them, no reply from a live person, only their automated reply system. I have been willing to buy the rubber seals, just cannot get anyone to talk to or reply to my emails. What good is saying you have a two year warranty and good C/S when there I absolutely no warranty and no customer service. So I am back to pushing a lawn mower and have a $3000 luba 5000 for a door stop for my shed. Luba is junk, stay way from this company, you will be throwing your monaway.

    Thank you so much for the video. The Luba probably isn’t for somebody who has a small yard. But I have a huge yard with very big hills. It’s very hard to mow it by hand and you can’t use a lawn tractor to do it because you’d have to worry about whether or not you’re gonna flip over. But the Luba has done areas that I didn’t think I could do and it does them very well. just for that safety issue alone the Luba is definitely worth buying. yes there is a little bit of a learning curve with it and they probably could’ve added more instructions for the buyers. But we figured it out and I like it.

    I have a 2-acre lot that is approx. 400 x 200 ft with a large house on one side and a couple of large trees. I'm concerned about signal strength. Is there a kit available that will allow me to test the feasibility of the mower prior to purchasing. I am looking at a LUBA 2 AWD 10000H.

    • @AutmowRoboticMowing
      @AutmowRoboticMowing Před měsícem

      Thanks for the comment and question. I'm glad you have some reservations around the signal integrity and are doing your due diligence. Unfortunately there's not a "kit" that can replicate the operation of the mower and reference station. You can always look into some GNSS tracking apps to get an idea of the constellations over your area and the strength of them throughout the day, but it will fall short of truly representing the operation of the mower. If you'd like, head over to the website and fill out a contact form and our sales team can have a look at your lawn and give their assessment based on previous customers. Or, if you have an Autmow location near you, reach out and schedule a demo and see if they can bring one by. Wish I had a more definitive answer for you, but I hope that helps some. Thanks!

    Hi, Excellent content! I have been trying to decide between the Luba 2 10000H and the Husqvarna Automower 450XH EPOS. Have about 1.8 mowable acres of mixed rye, bluegrass and fescue spotted with weeds. The property is a rectangle with three tiers with a gentle slop between each tier. Have a few gardens, maybe 30 evergreen trees, and eight Maples to mow around. Most of the trees are around the edge fo the property and line the driveway. My concerns: 1. The cut quality -- The Luba has 8 blades over a 15 inch swath whereas the Husqvarna has three blades over nine inches and they are somewhat covered by a safety disc. I would think the Luba would deliver a better cut based on blade density. Then again, the Luba is heavier and smashes some of the grass down before mowing. What has been peoples’ experience with cut quality? 2. Maneuverability - The Luba has four independently motored wheels. The Husky has two independently motored wheels and two coasters… Clearly the Luba is more cumbersome to turn around. I’d assume the Husky would maneuver better around the gardens and trees. Experiences? 3. Battery lifecycle -- The Luba weighs 44 pounds whereas the Husky is 30+. Logically pushing all the extra weigh should use more power and a softer lifetime. Spending this kind of $$, I’d like something that will last as long as possible. 4. Viability --- Husky has been around longer. Luba is relatively new. But, Luba’s products are getting good reviews… Anyway… Would appreciate your comments about the first three concerns.

    • @AutmowRoboticMowing
      @AutmowRoboticMowing Před měsícem

      This is a fair question and something we always discuss with our clients and the comfort level around having the product in high-traffic areas. In general, we've seen fewer issues than most might expect. Unfortunately, we have seen some mowers stolen and a few destroyed. In the event of theft, if they have 4G, it's usually time to get the authorities involved and provide them access to tracking, and they'll typically find it abandoned somewhere after they realize there's no value to them. The alarms are pretty loud and deter theft in most cases. As far as destruction goes, we've seen them thrown with minimal damage and some tossed in lakes. In all cases, it's typically an insurance claim and will be replaced. Again, for the number of mowers we have or have had out over the years, the number of incidents is honestly pretty small in comparison. Maybe someday it will be none, but, for now, there will always be a risk of vandalism or theft so location and schedules definitely need to be kept in mind. Thanks for the question and for watching.

    How do these work with dog poop? 💩 I had a bad experience with a Roomba and some dog poop once.

    • @AutmowRoboticMowing
      @AutmowRoboticMowing Před měsícem

      Very common question (and similar Roomba experience from others). For the most part, they don’t care. And that can be good or bad. Best case is that it rolls over it and gets some on the blades and eventually rubs off from mowing. Worst case would probably be getting it packed into the cutting system where it won't quickly clean itself or packed into the wheels of some models. There are brush kits for certain products, but, for the most part, it will work itself off or you might have to lightly wash it every now and again. Unlike the sweeper, dog poo is supposed to be in yards and you likely won't notice it much more than you do now other than maybe disturbing it and "freshening up" the smell. Hope that answered your question!

    What if the network goes down temporarily? What if the network is permanently shut down? Will it still work with GPS only?

    • @AutmowRoboticMowing
      @AutmowRoboticMowing Před měsícem

      Thanks for the question. I will start by addressing the last part of it. No, GPS alone is not enough to operate any of the RTK mowers as they still need the RTK correction data for safe and efficient navigation. If the network goes down temporarily, then the mower will not be able to run for that duration. As for permanent issues, in an ideal world it is just a station that goes down and Kress has enough coverage for other stations to provide connection. We're still a bit early on in most places for that though. And if there is a permanent shutdown, then I can't say I would see why or how that would be the case, but I would suspect there will be a lot of unhappy customers. I definitely don't expect that to be a concern as the network is built out and the products are more widely adopted. Hope that helped answer your questions.

    Is there a recommendation about how often to cut the grass. And if letting it out on wet grass frequently is an issue?

    • @AutmowRoboticMowing
      @AutmowRoboticMowing Před měsícem

      Thanks for the question. There's no "precise" formula because no day, week, or season is exactly the same. There are some general guidelines and factors that might dicate how often. If you have a 1.5 acre mower on 1.5 acres and it is maxed out, then it will probably have to go out more often than if the mower (battery) is larger than the working area. Most manufacturer stats for area are based on the area it can cover completely in a 24 period. The closer to maximum capacity, the more often it will have to be out. Aside from the mower, early spring and later in the season tend to grow a little more quickly, but mid-summer when it is dry, it's usually not a bad idea to reduce the frequency as to not overcut or compact. Wireless helps a lot as it will systematically cut the area so overgrowth is less likely. And finally, to your wet grass question. While the mowers may be okay operating in wet grass, you will definitely see an increase in buildup as the moisture and sugars in the clippings compact. So, avoid it when you can and clean often to reduce the need for extra labor on too much buildup. Also, it's a good idea to schedule around early morning dew and frost for overall health of the turf. Hope that helps you and others with similar questions!

      Oof, that is a good question. And honestly, one that I think the Yarbo does not have a solution for at this point in time. In comparison to Husqvarna's Automower Fence Door (really the only OEM solution for this issue), Yarbo does make things a bit more tricky as it's heavier than most that you might just be able to carry. That said, I think there are a few ways around it. Short of installing timed, automatic doors and syncing with the mower schedule or cutting a direct passage, your best bet might still be manual intervention. Depending on the size of both and the schedule, you could cut the front and back on different days and open the gate for Yarbo so it can access it. If it's smaller, you could also always manually drive or instruct it to mow the back yard when you see it needs cut and open the gate for it then. I wish there was some clever, tried, and true solution, but, sadly, there's not one that we have been made aware of or regularly implement to address this. If you want to discuss further, you could always contact our sales team who can map out your lawn and sizes to see if there is another way to address it. Thanks again for your question. I hope I helped to give some context.

    As owner of this model 1 it is a bit harch to trust this manufacturer how good really this model 2 would be. as with model 1 they forgot to tell that it only works in wide open areas and there could be no trees at all! I have quite normal yard, where yard itself does not have trees, but surrounding areas does. So what happens is that Luba is constatly loosing signal and stopping and, I would say its bad coding, as it can not recover after it looses it signal.I think they do have some problems with GPS receiver or i know (working with mobile phones) that antenna technic is very challenging and recource consumig to optimize) What i see in outside of model 2 they still have same basic design faults in place. Like putting those cutting blades exactly side by side is forcing them to leave some space there that all you can see in end result as Luba leaves a stripe behind, if you are trying to utilize this whole 40 cm cutting area, which is another false advertising due to this problem. Blades should be running more in diagonal position so you could have some overlapping with the blades itself. Another very important and very easy fault to fix would be that they would alternate the spinning direction of blades. I did try to tell them about these flaws they are carrying, but as evveryone knows they have about 1,5 months delay on customer service and then you get some copy paste phareses back so its not very effective. With spinning those blades everyother time to other direction you can double easily how long your blades last, as blades are double sided anyway. Or of course you can do swapping them around manually, but same thing could be done automatically with software. I dont understand why they insist modeling this as "formula 1" racing car? Instead they should model it so that it would be symmetrical, so that you can run it both directions. This is common mistake for all manufactruresrs at this point i think. By changing this you can add aroun 30 to 40% efficiency to unit when it does not need to run those lawn waring and tearing turns after each row instead they could just do little allingment and run next row, as thos blades dont care which way they are cutting do they. I think i had about 30 easy fixes written down after first season, but some how they did not want to improve model 1 intead they build another model and discontinued model 1. The ones that backed them up to get started in kickstarter where left with unfinish product with no support what so ever. i think this is not very good marketing tactic in internet decade where everyone can find real customer feedback for every product out there.

    The Luba 1 feels like a discontinued beta version, fun for us making Mammotion developing getting nothing back.

    As a Husqvarna EPOS customer.. things I would need for Yarbo: 1) Multiple RTK stations.. if it has a reference station that has to be mounted. 2) Trimmer/Edge attachments .. which I believe are in the work.
