Resin Comparison | Art Resin, Unicone, Liquid Diamonds, VOC Free vs Cheaper Resins, etc.
In this video, I will be comparing a few different brands of resin that I have used, including Art Resin, Unicone, Liquid Diamonds, Clearcast 7050. Also mentioned in this video: Clearcast 7000, Entropy Resins Super Sap CCR, Counter Culture DIY Casting Resin. Some of these are cheaper, and some are free of VOCs and more expensive.

Excellent coverage...
My ornament just will not dry and it been 2 weeks and I did I used metallic rose gold Folk art plced upside down in cup but had to go over a few spots had to add a little more and then I read I should’ve added a little water I hope it’s dry by Xmas 😂
What worked great to me was turning them every 10 mins the turn again. Th colors were beautiful. Contrasting work well. Add gold between green and red. Decorated with ribbon or lace.

Thanks so much for sharing hints!
For your silicone mat you can you the lint roller on it to get more lint and hair off. They are the ones that use a sticky tape like products in a roll.
Thank you so very very much for the tutorial 😊. I bought last year about 75 clear plastic ornaments on clearance. I’ve tried pouring with paint and wasn’t very successful. Yours are so beautiful 😍 I’m going to try your method. I’ve subscribed to your channel. This is the first time I’ve seen you and now with my subscription, I look forward to other videos of your craft. Thanks for sharing and have a great week. Georgene
I know this was a year ago, but LD was also my av for the longest time, but now i switched to Teexpert. I've had a great experience with them and I just finished my first gallon, and just purchased my 2nd gallon of the crystal clear for $56 and 1oz of deep pour for $26. that's with the coupons, the coupons were for $10 and $7 on Amazon, so even without coupons it's very cheap, and I get few to no bubbles in my pieces. Another hint, I just created a little setup. it's a seedling heating mat on a leveled cardboard box and a silicone mat, I've been putting my pieces on that mat, turned on high, with a cardboard box over them. The pieces with my teexpert crystal clear resin, which usually takes over 12 hours, is curing in 3 hours, one of them cured n 2 hours, with no bubbles. I'm willing to show the pics, most of the piecesI'm working on rn have a black resin background, so that would also hide bubbles, but I looked really hard cause I want to see if this set up is causing any probs. After 3 hours the pieces are still a little bendy, but def can demold with no concerns. I ws planning on buying a curing machine but in my opinion, this works just well curing in 3 hours and it only cost me $13 plus a silicone mat.
A problem that I have is the ornaments not drying properly.
THIS! I've been trying to dry some for over a week and no luck.
Love u lingling 🫀
Such a detailed and well organized analysis of the different transparent clays! Thank you for taking the time to review all of these for us!
Why not simply squirt paint directly into the ornaments?
How do u keep from getting cracks in ur paint? I'm getting cracks and separate
Probably didn't use enough paint/ try watering paint down SLIGHTLY. (fyi I haven't done This, but I have had similar issues pouring paint and doing mixed media projects. ) Hope 🙏 you figure it out. I'm going to try this , but going to play with the paint,(adding pouring medium/etc/( if I stumble on similar issues or how to fix it ..I'll come back and share.
Wow💖
Next time just learn to use pour paints
Which ProMarine resin have you tried. They have a few different ones. I use their Pro Art and it’s great for covering my paintings. Their table top isn’t good though
Oh I loved it!! All of them!! Especially the extra information. You gave a great tutorial 👍!!
great advice but please NO music
Can I get a tl;dr version? I'm having to use captions and they kinda suck, so I'd like to know what the overall vote for each resin was.

I was glad to watch your review of 7050. I found it to be thick as you said but also when mixing, it seemed to never clear up.
An epoxy that I've been really happy with is liquid glass. It is a bit pricey but SOOOOO clear with absolutely no bubbles, at all. The one down side is it does take long to cure (like 2-3 days) but my stove on the lowest setting you can touch it and it's just really warm so I put a wire rack (sold to put in your cupboards to separate plates) over the burner with the molds on top and that helps it cure much faster (like one day, sometimes less.) It also has the color mixing issue you mentioned so what I do is wait longer for it to start curing before pouring the two colors so they stay more separate.
I think Art Resin is great for thin works, however, I am now looking into more substantial pours within a frame of X depth, so I will be changing for this reason.
Where was the stick brought?
They are beautiful!
I was looking for a good safe resin for me and my son to do projects together. You help me make a decision. Xie xie.
I love that sunset ornament...my favorite! Great video.
Thank you for mixing all that clay for science ❤️❤️ you are appreciated
Hi can I ask you something
How.long do you let them try
I tried to add to my other comment but it disappeared. Here is my addition: if you pour both parts into the same container, just adding the other part to the first, then that is where you are making a mistake in your measurements. I get even use when I pour both parts separately. Like pour 50ml in one cup and 50ml in another cup, for the unicone for example. Then combine them
Very helpful, thank you!
The best info I have seen today! So thankful! Thanks!
Thank you so much for sharing, I’ve been wanting to try a new resin!
It’s your brush
Your music is a little too loud when you're talking :)
My paint cracked! What do you do to prevent this?
Great video, well done, thanks!
Am having the worst time with the Art Resin brand :( I've tried everything and can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. I use a blow torch to get the bubbles and while it helps a little, I'm still stuck with millions of micro bubbles. I've tried the water bath too. I use it for jewelry and haven't had issues with curing but will either end up with millions of bubbles in the pieces or holes in the pieces. I wonder if I need to go with a uv resin instead
i've been working with ArtResin for several years. I use a glass 'shotglass' and mix my resins in that. This enables me to heat up the resin to pop bubbles after mixing. I let it sit for 5 mins or a few more than that then repeat the process of popping the bubbles with my blow torch a few more times. If you let the resin sit for a bit, the bubbles will come to the top - eventually, hence the need to repeat the process. The consistency is pretty runny at this stage. Given its long pot life, I have not had any issues with the heat of the resin curing any faster. Not sure if you've tried that. Its really made a really big difference for me. I am working with small bead molds and my own free flow pendant pours though so I am not sure how big your work is. However, having said all of that - all the extra babysitting with the bubbles adds to the process and i'm contemplating switching just from the time factor.
Spray isopropyl alcohol on them to remove bubbles
I second the spray with isopropyl alcohol. You can even mix some alcohol into the resin it will thin it down alot and the bubbles will release easier
@@sarahb9143 i'm curious - what is the cure time when you add the spritz of isopropyl - does it not de-crease cure time? I would not imagine it increasing, given generally it waters down the resin, hence why I use it to clean up only. Also, when you spritz, how much do you spritz? For your spritzing to really be beneficial, what is the size of the spritzer bottle you use. Thanks!
Thank you! I'm trying to make a cola bottle candy and I've been struggling to get the right translucency right.. you have helped me decide the clay I need.. Thank you!
Hey Lingling :) Thanks for the reviews! I just wanted to warn you about using these inside your home... even with protective gear. Earlier this year I started playing with resins at home, unaware of the dangers involved. I poisoned myself very slowly. Over about 2 months my face blew up puffy with 1000's of blisters and Iv lost hair. I created a sensitivity to the hardeners by overexposing myself to it repeatedly. I almost died. You cant keep breathing those in. Especially the pro marine!!! Those vapours are invisible but burn your skin and can cause respiratory collapse X Be safe ;)
What kind of oil you used on the sticker layer?
What kind of oil you used to apply on the surface of the sticker?
I used Mod Podge. I've also seen other people using acrylic coating spray
Can you dome your resin pieces with unicone resin?
Hermoso trabajo y muy bien explicado, voy a tratar de hacerlo, amo laq cultura china! gracias por ensenarnos!
My fimo translucent is soft tho
Please get to the point!!!!!
Can I do this method with paper confetti to put in my snowglobe tumblers?
Be careful with Art Resin, it will melt your silicone molds.
I haven't used Art Resin for a while, but I feel something else is also kind of slowly ruining my molds too... I thought it was because all resins are abrasive chemicals:'(
@@linglingcrafting6187 Do you use a torch to pop bubbles or even a heat gun long for an extended period of time? I didn't realize that was the reason I'd get spots that would stick to my mold and tear it.
Art resin.. The most over rated resin...
@@RVincents Why?
They said silicone is fine
I'm a little disappointed there's not an a guide in how to make them, they're adorable and I would love to make one in pink
Useful thanks👍
