    thanks for the video. i have a question about the all home and z offset. i do the all home and run the z offset calibration just like you did and saved it. then hit the all home button again and the z offset goes back to its original spot before doing the offset. is that what its supposed to do? shouldn't it go back to where i set the offset to? that's the way it worked with the normal controller. please save my sanity!

      @Avel Před 2 dny

      I'm not near my printer at the moment, but when you home, I believe the Z height is 5mm. So even though you set the Z-Offset, the home position is not the same. In the menu, you should be able to see if the offset you entered/saved is still set. It's also on the main page of Mainsail in the Toolhead menu. Hope this helps!

    I purchased my SV06 in March of '23. It appears that they had added a second fan on the print head which protrudes out under the extrusion wheel. ;| I want to add an endoscope to video the nozzle, but from what I've seen on your videos, I'll need to remove that second fan. Unless you can suggest a better way, my thought is that I'll remove both fans, add a 5015 using the offset mount above and then use your endoscope mount. I can send a pic of the stock 2-fan head if you have a way to receive. Cheers.

    • @Avel
      @Avel Před 4 dny

      Hey, do you mean this fan? tinyurl.com/4zr675rj If so, it's on all of them. You have to remove the screws and the bracket holding it on (the two holes left on the hot end is where you will mount the nozzle cam bracket). I made this video ( czcams.com/video/hw39j5DV56M/video.html ) which goes more in depth, and in the description are the fans I used and everything you need. The only difference is that I had to use this fan shroud ( www.printables.com/model/483474 ) instead of the one from that video to work with the nozzle cam. Unfortunately, some soldering will be needed because the plugs on the fans are different sizes (explained better in the video). Hope this helps! 4:20 To remove stuff from the build plate, take your scraper and put it up against the part. Then take a semi-heavy object, I use some pliers, and tap the end of the handle. Pops the print right off. But I'm going to have to try this for some golf ball markers with my logo. I was filling the empty spot with colored epoxy resin (which actually gave it some weight), but would love to see how this turns out.

  • @gardenfootcreature2925

    in your opinion, should I go for the klipper version of the sv06 or is it to much for what it's worth compared to the marlin version

    • @Avel
      @Avel Před 20 dny

      Personally, I couldn't go back to the non-klipper version. Having the faster printing and not having to deal with USB cables or SD cards to transfer the model to the printer. It's a night and day difference to me. However, the non-klipper version is a great place to start if you're a beginner. You can add the Klipper screen later down the road once you get down the basics. I tell everyone I know that the stock SV06 was the easiest printer I've ever owned to set up and get good prints right out of the box. That being said, the SV07 has the Klipper screen already set up and it's on sale right now on the Sovol website for not much more than the SV06. tinyurl.com/jzf2e3hj

    • @gardenfootcreature2925
      @gardenfootcreature2925 Před 20 dny

      @@Avel I have looked in to the sv07, but it seems like it's just barely outweighed by the 6. If it helps, I've owned a printer in the past, albeit a very mediocre one. If you own an sv07, which of the 2 would you say is better for a semi-expierienced user?

    • @Avel
      @Avel Před 20 dny

      I don't own the SV07, so I can only say that the SV06 is good. But they're both geared towards beginner/intermediate. If you're up for using Klipper, I'd say go SV06 + Klipper screen. If you're hesitant about using Klipper or just want to wait, the stock SV06 is still really good for the price. Albeit, slower and you won't have the wireless file transfer for printing. But as I said, you can always upgrade to the Klipper screen later. It's really up to you. Either version sounds like it'll be a good upgrade from what you had.

Mine was something like -90 dBm, which is very weak. If yours is weak, try moving the printer closer to the router, or what I did was buy a WiFi extender from Amazon for like $16 and put it in the room with the printer and connect it through that. I haven’t taken that step yet. I’m a 3d printer virgin. I’ve been looking into it for the last few weeks and overdosining on how it all works. Resin still trips me out. Was a complete mystery or magic before I looked it up. Bambu a1 I really like but the sv06 is so cheap from Amazon but worried about the extra hassle that the a1 seems to have way over the sovol So sitting on the fence right now and happy to watch more vids. You remind me of old tony. So nice work on the vids. Really nice.👍

      Thanks 🙂 I appreciate you watching! I hear you. They're both good printers, but each has its pros and cons. I'm looking at the SV08 now, myself. I'm sure whichever one you choose, you'll be happy.

      That's awesome! 😁 I appreciate that! And the model, it works perfectly. Mine has a light too, but it's really dim. Could be due to the age, though.

    Is here someone who has fixed the auto-z-align-problem with the SOVOL SV06? Everytime I start the "Auto Z-align" the printer starts moving, stops and the display shows "Driver error: PRINTER HALTED please reset". I already installed the latest firmware from a new micro-SD-card, but i never got farther than the Auto Z-align

    It seems like you didn’t do anything to fix tolerances? Did it work because your yellow material was compressible? You mentioned it was TPU, so I figure that might be it

    • @Avel
      @Avel Před měsícem

      I can't remember exactly because of how long ago it was, but if I had adjusted anything for tolerance, I typically would upscale the model (the GoPro model in this case) by 0.20mm on all sides before 'subtracting' it from the parts that would be printed in TPU. Yep, TPU can be squishy, so it's very possible I didn't adjust here.

    Lots of love to your dad! Great printer, I am currently looking into both SV06 and SV07, differnce in price between the two in my region is just 36 USD. I like the SV06 hardware wise i.e. rails but it doest seem cost effective (when comparet do SV07 price in my region) to get a RasPI and touchscreen for getting it upgraded to klipper.

      @Avel Před 2 měsíci

      Haha, thanks 😁 Definitely go for the SV07 if you're wanting Klipper out-of-box. I'd like to check out the SV08, too. I think that's going to be a great printer from what I've seen. But it's a lot more, price-wise. The Klipper screen is a great add-on for the SV06 too, now that I've used it a bunch, there's no way I could ever go back. I'm sure you'll be happy with whatever you choose. 🙂
