I feel like Murderbot is underrated as a Found-Family series. I absolutely love the crew from the first book, who were already close and grew closer, and how they enfolded Murderbot into their group without hesitation. I'm always so happy to see them show up throughout the series. Also, your cat's greeting (demand?) was just adorable!

I'm so glad you loved What Feasts at Night and that you found it darker than What Moves the Dead. I'm reading it soon and I hope I'll love it too. I just finished Nettle & Bone and though I thought I wouldn't like it as much, I ended up loving it a lot and gave it 5 stars. There's just something in her writing that adapts so well to different genres and hooks you in slowly by slowly. Might give The Hollow Places a try too; I think it will be a nice gateway to the horror genre. Kate Elliot has a space-opera series of novels that sounds interesting too!

I've heard so many good things about Black Sun and I was wondering if I should add it to my tbr. Hoping that you get to read the book soon and I can hear your opinion about it! Gods of Jade & Shadow was the first Silvia Moreno-Garcia book I've read and I'm really not sure how I felt about it. On one hand, I loved the lush descriptions of 1920s Mexico and the few gods in the story but on the other hand, some parts were really slow and I remembered being quite bored. But I was reading during the first few months of the pandemic so I guess it wasn't the most suitable head-space for slow-paced historical fantasy 😅 I have a feeling that you'll love it though! Not sure if you've heard, H.G. Parry is releasing a new historical fantasy novel this year. It's called "The Scholar and the Last Faerie Door" and goodreads says it's coming out in October.

Lightfall book 3 is due out soon! I hope you enjoy the St Mary's Chronicles... it's a wild ride! :D

I just finished The Woman in the Library! I couldn't put the book down and I was hooked from the beginning. Though I had to get used to the writing at the start and the ending was a tad disappointing for me but I really appreciated the new spin on the murder mystery genre. I will definitely read Sulari Gentill's other books soon! I know Sulari Gentill also has a series of historical mysteries. Will you be reading them?
