3 weeks post tendonesis and shoulder chromium decompression, when healed Dr what will the bicep look like when I can train them again? Any deformation?
HAND SANITIZER WILL TAKE IT OFF!!
Work comp independent medical examiner gave “you can do the steroid and/or surgery” should i start with the steroid? My coworkers who have had shoulder issues have said it’s prettycmuch worthless and delaying the inevitable. Edited to add i have two labrum tears and a rotator cuff tear.
As it does not hurt I hope it means I am not demaging anything? I am not taking heavy painkillers. It is day 5 after surgery. Can I sleep without a sling with my hand stright alongside my body slightly elevated on pillows? I had an artroscopic surgery. Small anchor. Supraspinatus small tear. I am prescribed for 6 weeks in a sling which I think is too much.
My mother undergone a severe Rotator cuff repair surgery,MGHL,Capsular release,Biceps tenotomy and Sub acromial decompression ... She's having serious uncontrollable pain from shoulder to palm after taking all pain medications also... Its been 6 days but no improvement in pain at all.. what might be the reason doctor... Pleaseeeee please help me out about this!
Hi Doctor. I have a concern that I’d like to discuss with you. I had a rotator cuff arthroscopic surgery ( supraspinatus partial tear, labrum tear, repaired with a patch ) and a biceps tenodesis ( biceps tendon re-attached to the bicipital groove ) recently done 06/06/24. For some reason I feel like “tightness” in front of my shoulder, a constant discomfort/pain in that area specially during the night and when I remove my abduction pillow from my sling. My PT therapist wants me to stop using little by little the pillow attached to my sling. I cannot tolerate the sling for long periods of time without it. I tried several different methods like ice/heat, narcotics, anti-inflammatory medications, positioning etc. Nothing helps. That discomfort is always there. Is this something normal? What else can you suggest? Thanks in advance. 😊 ( I had an open biceps tenodesis, they made a small incision close to my armpit. I’m a “healthy” 36yrs old female )
Robbing alcohol will clear that 😅
Today will be my1st day of PT. Today is also 8 weeks Post-Op. I started some small movements at home like the hanging circles and light stretching at week 3. I’m 62 and love to play golf. I started chipping and putting last weekend with no pain issues. My surgeon did the speed bridge repair on the SS tendon as well as biceps repair. This Sunday I’m gonna up it to some 3/4 swings and see how that feels. Thanks for taking time to share your knowledge!
I got my labral tear last year since then i have been suffering from it last week i again did MRI. It shows 1. Some thickening of the SASD bursa with synovitis. 2. Evidence of subacute teres minor denervation without a structural predisposing factor detected. 3. Focal delamination tear of superior insertional subscapularis tendon fibres 4. Complex gleniod labral tear with intra and paralabral cyst formation. What should i do next. Can you please give me a suggestion
I agree with the nerve block. I had it for ankle surgery and it was great for pain control. It did feel very weird not being able to feel or move my foot for 24 hours but i just watched TV and completely forgot about it. I wasn't getting out of bed for anything so it didn't matter anyway lol
Came across this video just now, really informative. I have a partial thickness tear in my supraspinatus and a posterior labral tear with 3mm humeral translation (this is what the report says) We had to get an MR arthrogram done to figure out whats wrong. I haven’t been recommended surgery, doc wants to do it conservatively first. Do you think this is a good approach? From what I understood from your video, if I let my rotator cuff heal and strengthen it, i should get better. Currently my main pain is when I lift my arm overhead from the front, i feel it at the front of my shoulders and my bicep in the injured arm remain sore/still/sometimes painful especially the bicep tendon that connects the shoulder and bicep. There is weakness in the arm too. I’m only 27, hoping I can get back to weights and sports soon without surgery. Would love your input on this
Mohammed, I am glad you only have a partial tear. I would discuss this further with your surgeon to make sure all of your options have been discussed. Please consider joining our newsletter. I am on a cycle of 500mg of sustanon. I take trt in between i wanna mix in Deca soon. My shoulder is FUCKED cant do pushups or anything. What should i do?

Clean the bones. More anchors - double row. More stitches. Even Slower recovery.... Bicep or allographs or a cell matrix, to thicken rotator cuff.

Finally an explaination. My pain is exactly right there. I have fairly good ROM but some movements just put this ol cat to his knees. I live in canada and trust me free health care sucks, I have to wait now several months to get a ultra sound, then it’ll be another few months for MRI, I’m not sure what I can or can’t do, don’t want to screw it up or don’t want to not do enough.

Can you do a video more about bicep tendonesis recovery and things you may find during surgery necessary to do? I had bicep tendonesis along with distal clavical excesion ( unexpected and hurts almost as bad as biceps post op) along with cleanout of labrum and rtc. I tried to find some videos and there isnt very many out there for this. Ive watched all your videos, loyal subscriber and on FB page. 😊 I just really like how you go into more detail on the surgeries. Im struggling post op with how painful the DCE is along with the bicep and also curious as to what is decided during surgery when you find other things while youre in there. Thank you very informative Two weeks ago I had shoulder surgery. I had a combo of Frozen shoulder and partial rotator tear. My ortho doc didn't prescribed me any nerve pain med. It was first percocet. Did follow up and I mentioned pain and he prescribed hydracodone. I guess I should have been specific and also said nerve pain, because that is what I am truly suffering from now more than anything.
I am sorry that your recovery is tough, Unfortunately that is common. I hope you feel better soon.

Dear Dan, Following up on your CZcams cast on Physical therapy after surgery. I have a question. You mention 3-6 weeks where fokus is on mobility. And 6 weeks - 3 months on strength. I got a two-in-one operation : bankart surgery w. 2 anchers, together with initial brissement / manipulation of frozen shoulder. The advice form the surgen is start therapy with caution and follow the bankart program. after that focus on mobility to unfreeze the shoulder. It make sence, but i am very Worried to miss the window the opptunity for reganing motion. Leaving me “frozoned" for ever. I therefore want to start motion excercise also. I am 4,5 weeks in after operation. Do you have any good advice? I know it a very rare case to have bankart and frozen at the same time. Best regards Karim
Karim that is a tough one. Your surgeon will need to watch you closely to make sure you are not getting stiff, but also protecting your repair.
@@rotatorcuffexpert Thanks for the good advice. I will setup a consultation. Take care.
Thanks. This is really great to get understanding of the Window of opputnity for traning mobility. Thank you.
Karim, Glad it was helpful!
Sigh. An oldie here. Fracture, rotator cuff tears, Bankart lesion and Hill Sachs lesion following a dislocation or maybe it was a sublux from what you are saying. Who knows. I wasn't told for months. Just a small fracture is what I was blithely told....... didn't even manage to use the words avulsion fracture. Recently a dumb doc said, oh not to worry, just a bit of inflammation left now your fracture has healed as I sit in front of him in abject pain. He's looking at a recent MRI report (which I had to demand with menaces) with all the above plus more in front of him. Basically lying to me as he thinks I'm a stupid old dear. This is 6 months after my fall. In my country they don't do information. The main aim of doctors is to keep patients as uninformed as possible in the hope that 90% of them will recover on their own or die and the 10% that don't do either .......... well shrug. They have a new medical term: psycho-social factors which means it's all in your head or you have an odd social circle. That way it's your fault you haven't improved. The doctor can tick the relevant boxes that they followed "protocols" and can go home feeling smug and believing they earn the humongous packages they are paid. There are doctors and there are doctors. Thanks for the informative video.
Myla, I am so sorry for your experience. I hope you get the help you need for your injured shoulder.
june 18th countdown ....thanks for this

Hello i had surgery June 5rh yesterday and I didn't receive a sling with a pillow could you let me know why and will this effect my recovery
Wow! I was given my immobilizer sling before I had the surgery.
I received the sling but not the pillow do I need the pillow @@1DebOsborn
It is hard to know why, but check with your doc. If you didn't have a repair you may not need the pillow. But always best to check with your doc.
I was just trying to decide if I should get an injection this week. I have had a steroid injection before, and it seemed to help for a while. I am having pain and numbness from the top of my shoulder all the way down to my fingers. How often can an injection be given and how many times a year?
Hey Lynn, good question. It is really up to you and your doctor. I would also say that numbness down into your fingers is often not a shoulder problem. It may be worth checking out your neck
I saw my doctor and received another injection after having one a year ago. It was painful for 3 days afterwards, which was unusual. I became dizzy shortly after the injection. Have you seen that happen before? My doctor said the same thing as you. The numbness might be coming from my neck which I also have had a problem with for several years.
Yes sometimes people get dizzy after a shot, especially if it is a painful one
Thank you for your help. These parameters are right on and I am blessed to have #1 A great surgeon, I'm an active 56 year old, and I have been studying and following every protocol months before hand so I'm ready and on board. And mine was for a massive tear, per my doctor, though the measurement of retraction was 3.5cm. He did this in order to allow the proper time for healing back to the bone with Dermal on Demand patches. 8 weeks in the sling, PT to start only after 4 weeks. The progress is slow, as expected, but steady...My goal is the return to work, where I was injured.
Sounds like you are doing great Joe! Good luck with your recovery, pls let us know how you are doing.
I had rotator cuff 7 weeks and lower back surgery 8 months prior (l4/l5 with disc replacement and a cage) and the rotator surgery seems a LOT more painful!!!! My other shoulder needs surgery also, I'm not doing it unless I ABSOLUTELY HAVE to!!!! The constant pain, depression, sleepless nights with pain has been relentless!!!!
Hey Big Joe, sorry to hear that your shoulder surgery was so painful. Please let your doc know, there may be other meds out there that can help you get your rest.
I am a registered nurse and I will have rotator cuff repair plus biceps tenodesis in two days. I’m right handed and the injury occurred in my right arm and shoulder. Do you think that I’d be able to work again as a bedside nurse after having this kind of surgery? I’m concerned about this, I’m just 36 yrs old. ( by the way, I have a partial rotator cuff tear ).

Hi there Doc I am on the EMSI Flex home treatment and they have not given me any guidance as to what I can do apart from the pendulum swing . I usually clock in 7-9 miles a day and now I’m doing nothing, I need some exercise to keep progressing if you can suggest something I would appreciate it thank you.
Hi Anthony, The EMSI flex is a tens unit used for many different purposes. Did you have shoulder surgery?
@@rotatorcuffexpert yes it’s been 3 weeks,I’ve been doing the pendulum swings but I don’t know where I go from here. I’m going to call my primary care doctor to check to see if physical therapy is next because this is too serious to leave my recovery up to me. And thanks for taking out the time to respond so quickly
Anthony, your PT should be set up by your surgeon. Was that not done. I am afraid a PCP will not be able to provide guidance.
I purchased a cold therapy machine and slept in it. It made all the difference…I used it for many weeks. Was so worth the money as it conforms to your shoulder and you set it for how long to be cold and how long to be off the cold. Loved it. My pain was not manageable without medication and cold therapy. I’m 3 weeks out.
