My problem currently is that I can comfortably get the sound out every time, but covering the holes tightly is super hard, there is always some „fake air” coming out of one of them. Also, I tried this against a tuner and the problem is that the tuning varies a lot with how deep the mouthpiece is in my mouth and that changes with the note I play. Eg. I play a clean, in tune Eb and then I let open the hole to make it an F and it’s like 25 cents out of tune and I have to adjust the depth othe the mouthpiece by a few milimeters for it to be in tune, which means I have to constantly adjust it at each note I play. I’ve never played a wind instrument before, is this how it’s supposed to work or am I doing something wrong?
Love the sound. I bought my one from yr advertisement online,i think itvwas utube. I waited 3 weeks,the sound is nothing like this. I think mine is an imitation. I cant get one note out of it.

Hello, I love the sound! There is also the plastic version (the classic Xaphoon). I would like to know what you think : which one to choose if you want to offer a Xaphoon to a saxophone tenor player ? The Maui or the Classic (plastic)?
Excellent question! If its an experienced sax player, I would go for the bamboo version (original Maui Xaphoon Bamboo Sax) - it's off the scale in terms of coolness! (And it's made by the guy in the video!)

Hey, I just want to ask you a question as a beginner xaphoon player. For some reason my xaphoon(plastic) is off key especially in the lower notes, so when I play a low C it plays a low D or Db. I am using a standard tenor sax reed like the internet told me but it seems to be way bigger then the ones that came with my xaphoon, please help me out here.
The Xaphoon requires less lip pressure than your typical sax or clarinet. That should solve the problem.
this is my first woodwind insturment, when i try to put les pressure on the lips it dosen't make a sound, or it just playes the way it did before, a whole pitch too high. it did not solve it, but thanks anyway. @@garyfriedman2005

man, i remember that tune from a childrens tv show about nearly 60 years ago. the sock puppets. im not sure if it was lamb chop or what but i definitely remember. Expecting one of your ABS xaphoons to arrive tomorrow and cant wait to try it.
