@@buckeyedrones You might want to wait until 540 is open later this year to get the full effect. I was only referring to the Holly Springs Rd portion of the interchange. 540 is not open yet to be clear.

The only information I can find, states Phase 1 to open Mid 2024, and that is from NCDOT. I think fall 2024 is more likely?

I get the music from CZcams, that way I know it won't be blocked, if there are royalties, they go to the music source, If I ever have something go viral I won't get any royalties, it all goes to the source. That will be a bummer, but that is not likely to happen.

@@buckeyedrones I don't blame you. I'm guessing a bit further south toward New Hill. If I'm guessing right I can see another reason why you don't want to identify the place. I know we also have some pretty restrictive laws on drones. They are neat gadgets and I thought about getting one until finding out that for most of us the only places where we can actually fly the things is in our yards and at the beach.

The state always finds a way to revegetate the land, and is a top priority for them after constructing a toll road.

Found this information, just sharing: Interstate 540 (I-540) and North Carolina Highway 540 (NC 540) are part of a partially completed beltway around the city of Raleigh in the US state of North Carolina, forming the Raleigh Outer Loop. When complete, the route will completely encircle the city, meeting its parent route of I-40 in two locations. The initial phase of construction is designated I-540 and was completed in January 2007. It runs from I-40 near the Raleigh-Durham International Airport to I-87/U.S. Highway 64 (US 64)/US 264 south of Knightdale. The original plan was for the entire route to be designated as part of the Interstate Highway System, renumbering the route to I-640 when the beltway was complete; however, the NCDOT announced in 2002 that I-540 would not be renumbered in the future.[5][6] When it became financially unfeasible to construct the entire route with public funds within a reasonable timeframe, it was decided that the remaining portion of the route (approximately two-thirds of the total completed mileage) would be constructed as a toll road and designated as a North Carolina highway rather than an Interstate Highway. The tolled portion is known as the Triangle Expressway. The first section of NC 540 was opened in July 2007, extending westward from the western terminus of I-540. Further extensions have carried NC 540 around the western side of Wake County to its current southwestern terminus south of Apex. Future projects are planned to complete the southern leg, from Apex to Garner, and eastern leg, from Garner to Knightdale, under the same toll system. In particular, the portion south of Garner has been held up due to conflicting interests in choosing a path for the route. The southern extension is currently under construction and is expected to be completed in spring 2024. Construction on the eastern extension is projected to begin around the time the southern extension is opened with a completion date of 2028.

@@buckeyedrones They just had the groundbreaking for the eastern section this week, still planning on completion in 2028... it would save me a lot of time on my commute, and ought to open about the time I retire! From the Authority website: "Complete 540 Phase 2 construction is planned to begin in the late spring of 2024 and is scheduled to open to traffic in 2028.  Phase 1 of Complete 540, currently under construction, will extend Toll N.C. 540 from the N.C. 55 Bypass in Apex to I-40 in Garner, and is expected to open to traffic mid-2024. When finished, Complete 540 will span through seven cities and will stretch 28 miles, extending the Triangle Expressway from the N.C. 55 Bypass in Apex to I-87/U.S. 64/U.S. 264 in Knightdale.".

@@buckeyedrones The two sections I'm most interested in are the Turbine interchange with I 40 and the Holly Springs interchange (I used to live where one of the ramps is!). But no hurry, I can wait for the full video. Thank you for doing these, and as they just broke ground for the final phase I guess you'll be able to do them for quite a while yet.
