I found that my smallest router is too big for this job. There's probably a way round it by building a jig, but I decided to buy a cheap palm router, as your method is so much easier and I already have the frame made. 😀

Thanks for the video! Is there any chance you’d take on this exact job (but only the door part) for local customers? Same story, bought a taller fridge, needed my cabinet doors shortened 5 inches to 12”. My contractor said he couldn't shorten the existing doors and built new ones instead, but the new wood pattern resembles a zebra (and my existing cabinets do not). I don’t have the skills or tools to follow these steps (and would potentially ruin my doors). I’m in MD and could drive to you. Thanks for your time!

Hey Joe ,hope you're doing well. I don't think so ,when it goes from I enjoy doing this.... to ....all this time effort and expense and I'm lost in the algorithm so why bother it's time to give in ,I might add some other stuff just to get more views ,it's annoying waiting 3 months to hit the $100 payment threshold lol It seems all of the class of 2014/2015 woodworking CZcamsrs have quit also , it's a shame really

I was literally just thinking to myself ...I wonder if I could wire a rechargeable battery and a little usb module into my guitar to replace the battery, went to see if anyone else had done it and found this, this is way easier and stops me messing with soldering, didn't realise you could get these batterys lol

Why not just cut a rectangle piece of whatever size you need to come down to. Reconnect them, glue it, sand and refinish or paint.

Because it still has to match the rest of the kitchen, this way requires minimal refinishing so it's the best match the other cabinets in the kitchen

Thanks for the video. Smart design and well executed. I've been patching my recliner back into usefulness for the last few years trying to avoid spending the $1.5K they ask for the one I like. Mine crumbles at the pivot locations because those are made with OSB. I scabbed on plywood at those places and that lasts longer.

Great video! I had a cabinet above the stove that needed to be shortened by 7" because of a new fan I was installing. I must have watched your video 10 times before I dove into it. Being I don't do cabinets for a living, I had to measure 5 times and cut once. The thing I had to remeasure over and over was what side of the blade will be cutting on the finish line! I didn't want to have any gaps. It came out perfectly. My doors were way simpler than the ones you did. I had to recut the notches on the doors for the disappearing hinges that came out beautifully. Again, thank you for the awesome video!
