Never ever heard someone explain half full mindset that way. I always heard it's that you are thrilled to realize you have half a glass of water, rather than depressed that it is only half a glass. I have managed to turn my opinion on south korea dramatically since the beginning of this year. I went from sympathy to full on anger due to amount of terrible things I have learned. The City of Miryang tragic case sealed my opinion for good I’m afraid.

about the cults: this happened to me around 2018 in hongdae, two young ladies approached me, we had a chat, and they took me to this traditional korean ceremony and we had a meal together with their community, after which they asked for a donation. however, I dont see at all how this was possibly a scam. in fact, it was a really nice and memorable experience, the community seemed nice and they even invited me back for another meal (for free) and we had long deep conversations afterwards. am i missing something?

yeah they really don't like south east asian, they look down on south east asian countries. i was lucky because i met them in China. I speak fluent chinese and english, and a bit korean, so they see me as smart, the other sout east asian.. they couldn't care less ( I am Indonesian)

I have a Filipino friend and he definitely does not like Koreans. 😂 One of his pet peeves was that the Korean girls always sit with their feet on the seat. Which in a lot of cultures even Asian ones is considered rude or vulgar. Which I kind of wish he didn’t tell me, because when I dated a Korean girl it made me notice everytime she sat that way.
