Air Compressor after cooler 2 month update
zhlédnutí 2KPřed 2 lety
This is a 2 month update on my DIY air compressor after cooler. Unfortunately, the vibrations of the compressor running were too much for the inlet of the cooler. Here is the replacement part that I ordered. (I do received a small slice of the action if you click on the link and order anything from Amazon.) Derale cooler - amzn.to/3Clal0t

Air compressor after cooler -- To remove water from compressed air
zhlédnutí 14KPřed 3 lety
I added an air cooler to my air compressor (with filter) to help remove some of the water before it goes into the air tank. Unfortunately, it is not working as expected. In this video, I go over some of the fittings I used as well as my methods for the system. I will continue to work on it and get the fan running. That should (I hope!) fix most of my problem. On the bottom of jack is a hole.. on the mounting bracket there is a Nipple.. The Nipple goes in the Jack hole.. to also keep jack in place 👍
I worked at Miller in appleton and they literally treat their workers like dog shit. Management is so incompetent ive never seen anything so bad. Theyll send broken machines out on purpose just to meet quotas. Quantity over quality is the miller way. Also, if your direct boss does something they know they are NOT SUPPOSED TO DO, and you report it to his/her boss? Yeah they just fire you. Management fucks up so often and has ZERO consequences which is why they fuck up so often bc they get rid of the worker instead of the real problem, which is management.

This is not very encouraging. I am waiting on a couple of parts for my cooler project and if it’s not going to do anything, I’ll be disappointed and several hundred dollars poorer. I do have a good stack downstream of the tank, but still…
@@BeaulieuTodd check out my other video. It is working great.
I used a speed jack and pry bar to move the exhaust down a few inches and slid my pan out.
Good idea...thanks!
Thanks man. My truck ('08 Chev 2500) did some of this not being able to put gas in it in 2012 when I bought it (it had sat a yr when I got it), and eventually got to where it was fine after a while of driving it and few trips cross-country and to Canada, but about a yr and a half ago, the check engine light w/ EVAP code came on and about a yr ago, it started again with that whole can't put gas in it thing, but after 2 mos of not driving it, now she runs TERRIBLE and missing out like nobody's business. I'd like to avoid pulling the tank if I can since you had such a time with it, but I feel like to be safe, ALL the lines should be checked/cleaned. Also, I'll see if I can get one of those long-nozzled air blowers you found @ HF because that would be handy as all get out anyway. When I get around to that portion, I'll have to let you know how it went, but appreciate you putting the info out there for us. It's nice to have a gander at the work before doing it.

Great video. By the time your lines are clogged you will have a ton of charcoal in the tank that needs to be cleaned out.
Gray video. I used this for putting back my jack and tools. Thanks for creating this video.
If you have any one drop of water in that filter its still going in the compressor that filter does not what you think
Part of what you say is correct. Yes, water still does get into the compressor. This only reduces the amount of water that makes it into the take. This set up is NOT the most efficient or best way to remove water from the air. That said, I think it does a good job. During the summer I am getting about thimble full of water in the filter for each fill up. Whatever water that is in the filter....does not make it to the tank. It's that simple. (I have a cup that the filter drains into and you can see/measure the water it drains.) I still have the drain in the bottom of the tank that I use as well. For my next compressor (presumable an expensive one) I will do to the multiple vertical copper pipe set up on the wall with drains on each leg. I think that is the best set up. This will be in between the compressor head and tank. Most guys put them downstream from the tank and therefore water still makes it to the tank.
I have the same mower but I can't find the capacity anyone know what it is? For oil
I just looked in my manual. It doesn't list oil capacity anywhere. I want to say that it is less than 2 quarts. I usually see how much drains out to give me an idea, then slowly fill, checking the dipstick several times.
Yep! Me Too! exactly the same experience, replaced all the parts to no avail, I should have first checked the Purge Valve for Carbon pellets which would have told me the lines were clogged, Unfortunately that was the last thing I checked, the purge valve tube is Very brittle and will break upon inspection, (p/n 12658354) would recommend getting a new one first, as well as a new Purge Valve (located at the Motor) both are cheap. the line that gets clogged the most is this Purge Valve Line, but there will be pellets throughout the system (Very Poor Design) a new Complete line kit (AC Delco Part # B7082580761AC) is well Over $300.00 add to that all the cost of parts thrown at this job before one realizes the lines are blocked and you have a parts bill of over $500.00. you can Buy the Exact same AC delco Line kit on that Jungle Website for $160.00 same part numbers same manufacturer but hundreds of dollars cheaper. there are Many Poor Design systems and Materials used in the 07 to 14 Chevy trucks, they hired the wrong design teams for sure. if you are cursed with the above issue, Good Luck, because once you go through the misery of fixing it, soon as the Evap Canister Filters go bad, it all happens again! a small sponge filter that can degrade rapidly is all that is preventing this from reoccurring.
Great video. I can only put in like $8 before gas spills out. The gas station pump nozzle not clicking. But I don't know why my gas tank is refusing to accept more fuel? I've checked all hoses and charcoal canister. Everything is intact. My gas gauge is always showing full. Can a bad gas pump and sending unit be the culprit?Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
Not sure how to help you there....but I would think that if it was a bad gas pump you would have issue with it running or starting.
Thank you, I didn't know how to put it back 😆
Thanks
This vid saved my ocd and blood pressure. Thank you😊
I can relate 😅. Daddy is putting the wife's 02 burb back on the road to haul stuff and bless her heart nothing is where it's supposed to be and doing it in 95-degree weather makes me very short-tempered.
Thank you so much!🎉
Did it stay at 40 after this video? Good stuff man
As mentioned, they are wheel chocks. Put them on front and back of the tire on the diagonally opposite corner of the tire you are changing.
Thank you this video helped a lot
Man, thank you for this video! I’m an engineer and am embarrassed to say this was an absolute pain in the ass to figure out. No problem once I saw your video, very helpful!
I recently had a flat tire and actually used the tire jack & accessories, I needed to put everything back in place and I couldn't remember how everything went. I've searched and I came across your video. THANK YOU VERY MUCH, GOD BLESS!!!
same here. unreal. thanks for posting
thanks
Two plates are used as stopper behind the vehicle tires so vehicle does not roll when you jack up .

my 2013 is going through this now Caddy EXT... who the hell designed this system needs a court martial! Man
I can believe I had to come to CZcams looking for help on how to put that back in place after I had a flat on I-35 South...lol
I really appreciate you making this video I had the same issue with my 2017 Chevy Suburban can't understand why they didn't put a screen to stop the pellet from going through thank you very much you're a blessing🎉
Thanks for the kind words sir! Glad it helped.
Dealing with this on a 08 Tahoe and wondering the same thing. Even the new vapor canister doesn't have a screen to stop it from happening again. One thing I've read to help prevent this from happening is to not top off your tank so gas doesn't go down the lines and into the canister where is will break down the pellets faster.
@@phitnessc6687I also am currently dealing with this on my 08 Tahoe. Replaced the canister, then the solenoid to no avail. I really don’t want to drop the tank. Gonna see if I can blow out a hose or two with the tank still on.
Why cut out the metal? Just grind all paint off & fit it back in place & weld it in place.done!
I use them as Chalk Blocks. When I get a flat I put one behind each tire to keep the car/truck from rolling.
? Start Tahoe good oil pressure 40 psi motor warms up psi goes down to 20 psi at idle rev engine goes up to 30 psi i have the flush in it right now going to change oil tomorrow if that not the problem wat should I look at next.
Muchas gracias 😂😂 👍👍👍👍
My non XL Yukon mounts the jack the opposite way with the top nose facing the rear of the vehicle. Also there is a slit in the metal bracket the tire lowering release tool slips into that locks it into the vehicle in combination with the larger nut. Such a horrible design. A neighbor replaced a flat on my wife's Yukon after i got out of the hospital. Took me 1/2 hour to get it back in. No pictures in the manual show the damn thing.
You did the absolutely correct thing by running the Amsoil flush. I would also recommend you switch to 10w30 signature series as it will continue to maintain a higher oil pressure better than the 5w30 under higher throttle and hill climbs. And also gets consumed by the engine significantly less.
The two little hooks on the mount go in the two matching holes in the base of the jack.

How is your 2007 GMC running? I have a problem with no or low oil pressure started a week ago. I had changed oil 1000 miles ago in my 2004 Chevrolet SSR. Miles are 180,000 miles. I place 120,000 since I bought it 14 years ago. Stop engine & check oil level. Full to marks on dip stick. Dove 5 miles to get home after light came on low oil psi. Sensor was changed 3 years ago with screen because of No oil psi. I had problems with my 5.3l engine in August 2023. Multiple trouble codes for misfire, catalyst & rich bank 2. I have seen several videos on the flush to clear out the engine. I have been sick this week & to cold & wet outside. I am going to try this fix but NO transmission fluid into engine. That sounds scary to me to put ATF into engine. Any help would be appreciated. One more thing. I saw multiple trouble shooting tips to change out instrument cluster stepper motors. I had to change out cluster with Speedo in Flint, Michigan. Some brainy mechanic? (ME) had a dead battery. I jump started it & the electrical problems started. Had to change the ABS module, speedo, ECM heater blower relay etc. I had my 2004 SSR into change a damage tire. During the wheel alignment check. The so called certified mechanic left the ignition switch on for 3 & 1/2 hours. Because the manager said the the ignition switch on to do alignment? So he jump started the engine. A whole new problems like the oil psi, MAF, many trouble codes for misfire, fuel rich bank 2, catalyst, O sensors rich & lean and many more. I can't believe that with all my experience working on cars & trucks for over 60 years. Jump starting & wheel alignment can cause so many problems again.
Thank you for this video, it helped a lot! My problem was a vent line was kinked, I had to order the set
Thank you, your video helped a ton. I noticed that the lock rod was majorly gummed up from old lubricant, so I popped it out and scrubbed the rod and three white guides with a paper towel and rubbing alcohol to remove the gunk. Then re-lubed with spray on white lithium grease, and it works good. Hopefully the new grease will hold up to hot and cold weather.
How do you get the actual seat unbolted from the track?
Very helpful. Thanks.
Thanks sooooooooooo much!!!
Thanks for the video, I use the 2 metal pieces as tire chocks to prevent my vehicle from moving when I’m changing my tire
Transmission Fliud will do the same thing. Used it on my GMC Envoy and it works
I have heard that as well. Thank you.
