I've bought a Parkside 40 Volt Hedge Trimmer / Cutter, How heavy is it compared to my old machines?
I bought this hedge trimmer as i was curious to know how good it was, didn't really need it as I already had 2 machines. As you'll see from the video the 40v strimmer have a good long cutting bar, It still weighs much lighter than my petrol strimmer.
My honest opinion is that this strimmer has me converted from the petrol machine to battery operated.
Parkside 40 volt is... 1* Lighter to carry.
2* No emissions or fumes.
3* just add batteries an go.
4* Simple to use.

Parkside 40 Volt Hedge Cutter Trimmer How much will the batteries do on 1 single charge?
zhlédnutí 129Před 16 hodinami
Was out cutting this hedge row today and thought I would try to see how much I can achieve on one single charge off the batteries of this Parkside strimmer. I must note the batteries are 2 years old as i use them on other Parkside tools. This 40 volt strimmer is very impressive but the only downside is you can only buy it in Lidl when its on offer It would be a 5 star machine for me but Lidl do...

Bought this Parkside cutter / Strimmer from Lidl, was curious to see how this machine would perform an was very impressed with its performance. The machine with 2 4amp batteries weighed approximately 2.5 kg lighter which a big bonus to making the machine easier to use. No wasting time and money with up keeping a petrol strimmer, just put your fully charged batteries in an go.

@@TheProjectGuy194 ok perfect thank you for your quick reply
I am into battery also. Thank you for the advice about the 4 amp.
I got one earlier this year, it's just fine for a small garden, 2 pairs of batteries is handy but unnecessary. Given the light weight, it doesn't need the handlebars, a simple trigger on the main stem and catch handle would have been easier to work with. Not having to pull and pull and pull the starting chord? Gotta love that.
I bought the same machine last year. Scarified in September, left the grass with no treatment whatsoever and come May my grass has never been thicker. It certainly does the job at a very reasonable price.
Thanks for your comment and idea to do it in September, have plenty of lawn here to do a few more tests on. Thanks.
Tried it. Dinna work. Drill a 5/8" hole, 51mm from the back of the wheel, behind the silver strut, straight through the rubber and the aluminum. Access the spring that way.
Thank you for taking the time to educate me and many others with this video. I enjoy doing work on my car so I’m more educated in that respect and so I know what work needs doing so I’m not ripped off or scammed.
Excellent video gave me just what I needed. Thank you
I’ve got this model but off eBay. It’s pretty powerful but don’t rely on the collection box as it’s full within seconds. I treat my moss to kill it first as using this on live moss will spread the spores.
This is a fantastic little machine. I produce a verticutter cassette for it, which transforms it into a great all-round lawn maintenance tool…
I see you had a bit of grass in your moss there! 😃
Lawn is now as bald as my head, have sown grass seed 2 weeks ago, had all weather conditions but sun.
@@TheProjectGuy194 It's been a shocking spring hasn't it. Rain every day. Nothing's growing, including your lawn 😄
do a run ,and then miss one etc. this means you dont have to run over the moss you have pulled up.
If not done the area previously,I mow short, rake up, scaify, rake up, then iron sulphate, and re scaring a while after. Then use core remover, brush in sharp sand, and overseed.
Those collection have are pointless.Always full in no time. Have the Webb petrol machine, myself.
I've got one of these and it does a good job. Set it to level 3 first and go over it, then have a look and see if it needs level 2. If it does it will be easier than just doing level 2 straight away as you have already removed a lot of thatch and moss.
Thanks John, have lots to do an will try your method on next go.
Can anyone translate this to english? Unfortunately, I don't speak arabic of mexican or whatever. Thank you.
I generally spray with iron sulphate before. This turns the moss black and then a couple of days later rake by hand and fill the bin. I'd like to hire the proper petrol tool and do it right some day. But would need a trailer and builders bags to get rid of all the moss. I'm no expert, but probably best to over seed the part you have done so far and water it if required.
Was looking it earlier and will probably over seed it to be safe
I was looking at these today, are they tough to push forward?
If the moss is extremely thick, it can take some effort to push forward.
The electric one I've got isn't
Thanks fellas
Yes it's Electric an cable is 10m long
Just what I was looking for. 6 Yr old video still helping people out. Cheers.

2023 rust never sleeps in the rust belt USA. On the trusty 2006 Touareg 4.2 v8 now flex pipe leakage both sides. Great help from you, Thanks !
Really nice built stove. Since you are into making different models I'll take the liberty of suggesting something a little different. I noticed that you have used a thick plate for the top and I wonder if you can put hinges on it instead of welding that part permanently. That way you can used as a barbecue getting the heat from the top. Obviously that model is to be used outside when grilling. Looking forward for more of your videos. Greetings from Toronto.
Mine has gone in almost exactly the same place. It’s a Honda and the engine works perfectly. I’m wondering whether to shape a bit of wire mesh over the hole at either side and then use fibreglass and resin to hold that in and build that up for strength. Do you think that would work? I might buy a new one and I could use both to get the grass cut quicker but I am loath to scrap the machine!
Yes clean around it an get fine mesh an go to motor factors or car parts place an get a tub of fiber fill an apply it over the mesh an overlap onto the mover.
@@TheProjectGuy194 Will try that, thanks - hate wasting a good mower apart from a small part of the deck!
Good job extending the life of the deck. Has it lasted still now? 2023.

Curious that little round looking red light on the bumper, what's that for. Mine hasn't worked since I bought the car, the globe is brand new.
The red one on bumper is your fog light an operates from your main light switch
@@TheProjectGuy194 hmmm, I wonder if it's been disabled. I'm from Australia. I've never seen one before until I got this car. Haha
Ok start your car an turn your lights fully on an then the same switch should pull outwards a notch an should be on, from what I remember there also should be a light on your instrument panel should come on aswell. @@TheProjectGuy194 thank you, I'll look at this tomorrow and let you know how it goes. Bless 🙏
I used a jig saw to the cut the top of mine open. Took 10 minutes.
I saw videos of people doing it and just assumed it was a bent flat head screwdriver. Wouldn't release the springs and because you're working blind you don't know this. The tip on even a smaller one is too big. I had an old cheap one with a broken handle, heated and bent it then ground the tip down.
Great video mate. Thanks. Will be doing this job soon but need to know if the engine has seized first… car cut out because it had lost so much oil after having clipped what I think must be a speed hump too
Hey, give us an update. How's your car? Did it seize? How long did you drive after you lost oil pressure?
Did you do it ? If so what's it drive like , is it ok in 6th gear ?
Good video doing mine today
Many Thank you , I could not figure out how to get through 2 bolts out .. Thanks for taking the time and including the details . Other videos just show it off and then put the gasket on .
Down the road from ya🤙🏻Mayo man here....fantastic video👏🏻👏🏻....great laugh when u mentioned the “ bastarding smoke”🤣🤣....if you were to build using same cylinder for using ONLY smokeless coal would you do ANYTHING different??????....thanks Tyrone🤙🏻🤙🏻
Probably lower the height of the door if burning smokeless coal but leave enough access for a good seize shovel. Still using the stove regularly an happy with it.

Not sure about smokeless to be honest, mostly burn sticks an pallet wood etc.
4 parts vermiculite 1 part cat litter 1 part cement mix with water to a thick slurry cement and line you pan with it
Davidstorm8879 thanks for advice, hopefully in the future I will have a go with some of you advice, every day should be a learning day.
@@TheProjectGuy194 to true my friend i went through the same learning curve and i must point out at 70 yrold I'm still learning lol
adjust the cat litter, more to make it more clay-like
cut the door out first clamp flat bar with mole grips at door opening and bend the flat bar around the tank to get the precise curve in the flat bar to fit around the door precisely once welded onto the door edge fit in place in the door opening and weld the hinges into place that works better than what you are trying
Lots of good blurry video an grass video there. TLDW

Loved the process and the thinking out loud! Very impressive, truly! I’ve got a petit oval Godin I bought 40 years ago. It’s a great heater still. I’d like to get another but the cost is enormous now. So I’m thinking on making a multi burner and wanted to ask if there was a way of getting these thermal brick lining inside to match the professional ones. I’d like to burn mostly solid fuel like anthracite smokeless ovals. I had thought of attaching the fancy pig iron decor one sees on the old coal stoves but would n]know if these decorative pieces would be available. Anyway, thank you for a really interesting build and done with some dexterity too. Well done!
