    Many Thank you , I could not figure out how to get through 2 bolts out .. Thanks for taking the time and including the details . Other videos just show it off and then put the gasket on .

    There's a notch in the flywheel that allows better access to the two difficult bolts.

    Great video mate. Thanks. Will be doing this job soon but need to know if the engine has seized first… car cut out because it had lost so much oil after having clipped what I think must be a speed hump too

      Hey, give us an update. How's your car? Did it seize? How long did you drive after you lost oil pressure?

    Thanks for the video. I’ve been buying so many different sockets and wobble extensions and nothing has worked for those two bolts. Hoping to get them out today 🤞

      5mm allen key, hi if you turn the flywheel over you will see a groove in it which should align to allow you to get a little better access to the screws

      @@TheProjectGuy194 I got one out! But the hex ball snapped off I side the hex bolt head and it’s looking like I’ll have to drill it out of there. I have no idea why the engineers made the bolts on an angle. Just those two. Someone before me has definitely over tightened a lot of bolts on my car. Pain in the ass

    Hello did you do the sump bolts up with a torque wrench or by hand? Thank you

    • @TheProjectGuy194
      @TheProjectGuy194  Před 2 lety +1

      Tightened by hand to be honest, caution the bolts next to gearbox side just sweeten them up as they screw into rear crank seal housing which is aluminium from what I remember.

    Good evening
    When removing a sump of a Golf 4 1.6
    Wat tool do I need to remove the two nuts in the middle, next to the gearbox?
    The rest are removed

      5mm allen key, all turn flywheel till you see a groove in it which will allow you to have easier access to the 2 bolts

      @@TheProjectGuy194 can you show these mythical flywheel markers ? can only see mentions of them online not one photo video evidence
      interested because my Mk 5 golf has its flywheel hidden but those 2 screws are all thats remaining to remove and my swivel cant reach on it with a 10mm 3/8 socket
