Thanks Ian, looking forward to it 👍
Very interesting. Thank you. A nice boat! Cheers James
Thanks for tuning in James 🙏
Interesting video, I use the tablet dehumidifier too , but also the wardrobe hanging ones that work well to keep clothes dry, they’re readily available on Amazon. The boat’s looking amazing, all your hard work is paying dividends. Thank you for the updates.
Cheers 🍻 I didn’t know re the hanging ones and will take a look 👀
Liked and thanks as always Nick..

Hi Nick, (new follower to your channel). Your first family sail looked very pleasant. At least you got a decent weather window. So far the summer has spring/ summer has been very poor and unpredictable. Just watched a couple of your other videos. Very informative. Look forward to sailing adventures. Fair winds. ⛵️👍
Hi Paul, many thanks for tuning in. Yes, the summer hasn’t really come this year. I’m not sure what whether we’re gonna get moving forward.. But we try to make the most of what we have. A few more upgrades yet to do on the boat before it’s ready for some real adventures. Thanks again, Nick.
You lot looked happy as Larry on there. Will done, no reverse crashes either is always a bonus😂🎉
🤣🤣👍 thanks and yes on the water is my happy place always has been. Don’t do crashes 🙏👍
All I can think of is with 3 females, do you ever get into the bathroom in the morning? I only had 2 & was in the yard more often than not....
Nice little sail out with the family, sounds a bit windy and hope it was not too cold for summer.... 😎⛵
Thanks 🙏 winds were good 👍 tad cold for summer, I guess we have to wait for summer next year as it seams to have missed us this year 🤣
What a way to spend a day… looking forward to many more sailing trips. 😊
Many thanks, was a good day. 👍⛵️ cheers 🥂
Nothing better! Well, maybe a long bike trip perhaps. Boat looks immaculate! Great job!
Thanks Ivan, agree on the long bike ride 🤣👍 cheers 🥂
What a great way to spend a day-out with the family. Quiet and peaceful, great scenery and plenty of fresh air. The yacht looks to be handling well and looks immaculate.
Thanks 🙏 yes had a great day out. Cheers 🥂
Hi Nick saw you out today I was out too had a great sail around H2 then Lune Cardinal back around F 4 and back into the marina these buoy s are on the chart should be easily spotted. Are you staying onboard, I am going out tomorrow light wind. Mike (Pagets Lady Westerly Corsair 36’
Hi Mike, yes just a little one out today and first time the family had been out of the marina since we got the boat. I just followed you all round today 🤣 only had the Genoa out today not the mainsail. I’m not out tomorrow as work to do but looking at next weekend.
Nick you need a Smart BMV to get all battery details including engine battery
Thanks Mike and nice to meet you today. Yes I plan to order one shortly 👍
Hi Nick this is Mike we just met in the fish dock, I think you said somewhere that your charger doesn’t show the engine battery voltage, your charger should be connected to the engine battery if it has a terminal for both banks. Hope to see you out sailing soon. Mike
Yes connected to all thanks 👍
Looks so relaxing thank you for the insight
Questtion on this MPPT controller. I hae 2 house to start batteries on my boat. Got to the boat and app said they were floating. Showed 20v from 2 100 watt panels 0 amps. When my boat is running my battery monitor shows -1.59 amp draw? Why? The voltage is 14.8 from motors. Shunt is installed correct to a neg bus bar. All house loads are off during readings. This also has a ACR
I’m not that clued up tbh on these things but when I reached out to their support they got back to me within a day, may be worth asking them. Cheers Nick
She certainly makes use of every space available Nick, liked and thanks as always....
Cheers 🍻 Ian, yes very well thought out spaces. Just getting a weeping diesel injector sorted out with the engineer then hopefully out Sunday for a sail ⛵️👍
Hope you get some great weather for it ..
What do you think about the "wings" created on the terminals produced by the crimper?
Not the best perhaps 🤔 Redbull like wings 🤣
What a sterling job.. 😊
Cheers 🍻
Hi I’ve just found your channel I see your wind masthead unit is on the pushpit do you still have a good reading with it there, only asking I’m doing up a sailing boat without any wind instruments and was thinking of using a weather station on the pushpit. Thanks steve
Hi 👋 and welcome. So my boat when I bought it only had a weather vane on mast, I bought a raymarine vane and transducer wireless version. But prior to sailing the boat to its new harbour I didn’t get it mounted in time to the mast so temporarily mounted on rear rail. It worked ok but have just had this now mounted on the mast. I have seen a few mount on a pole at the rear but imo it would not give accurate reading like on top of the mast. Cheers Nick
Good start. Not enough for me but it gets you places. Definitely go for lithium, they charge faster, are lighter, hold more power and last longer. Totally worth it!
Thanks 🙏 and yes will change the starter and house to lithium and maybe add a second house lithium too
Liked and thanks as always Nick..
Cheers Ian
They are so handy. I just got the Aferiy 2400w for mine and other things…
Cracking little channel on boats that I never thought I would enjoy but loving it so far 👍
Thanks 🙏 means a lot 👍👍
First World problems?.....🤔 How do I provide enough power on this 'old girl' to enable 3 ladies to blow dry their hair, have hot showers, have enough lighting, have TV, music, etc etc etc.....I've stayed on Liveaboard dive boats in the Red Sea since the early '90's to top of the range air conditioned all mod cons around 2008.... I know which I remember the most. It makes you wonder how the guy that originally purchased that beautiful boat coped don't you think? I'm enjoying the sailing more than tne bikes 😲 There, I've said it🙂
Must save you a lot being able to do all these jobs yourself Nick, impressive ...liked and thanks as always..
Thanks Ian, I always prefer to do myself, peace of mind it’s done right! And saves me a penny or two 🤣👍 appreciate you tuning in and supporting
Happy sailing, Nick, the boat looks amazing, looking forward to following your voyages. Will you be staying around the British Isles, or venturing further afield?
Thanks 🙏 so for this year sailing uk waters, for next maybe down to the Mediterranean 👍
Hello- I hope you don’t mind me asking what brand is the cockpit table?
Sure here is a link to them and brackets www.force4.co.uk/item/Osculati/Fold-Away-Teak-Table-Top/WY4
Brackets I used 2 of these www.force4.co.uk/item/Force-4/Folding-Table-Support-Bracket/KIQ
@@SailingSeaStar_ Thank you !
What is your most ambitious voyage that you have in mind to do at some point?
Hi Tom, 👋 so I would like to sail her down to the Mediterranean, maybe to Spain next year and then when the EU allows due to the 90 day rule from Spain up to Majorca and over to Italy, Greece and Turkey. That’s the plan anyway 👍
@@SailingSeaStar_like Odysseus himself the long journey home from Greece!
Well done Captain Nick. ⛵👏👏
It's looking good Nick and ready for a voyage..
Still a bit to do yet, cockpit table inbound, Bimini and new electric anchor windlass but all coming together nicely now. Cheers 🥂

Excellent job!
Thanks Ivan 👍
@@SailingSeaStar_ thank you, I have often hovered over the idea of owning a boat. Seeing you doing your thing will help me decide.
disappointed you didnt record from Pwllheli through Bardsey sound, round south stack into Holyhead. Two tricky areas to navigate!
I know :( I caught the tidal flow correct on both though and was steaming through and round Holyhead
Really enjoying the channel Nick ,liked and thanks as always..
Thanks Ian, more work to do yet and some new toys coming
Dang, Nick. You are doing an incredible job. Your boat is beautiful. You even sanded the edges of those teak boards and they looked as if they were new.
Thanks Greg, enjoying every minute. 👍
Looking much more ship-shape now. Great video, thank you .
Agree 👍
Thanks 👍🏻 shame I missed you when you first purchased her, I’m just down the Haven @ Neyland!! Fellow biker (Ktm 1290 S/Adv) also recently did my day skipper/sail…. Loving what your doing 🤩
That’s a shame, loving getting the boat up to spec and hope to be out and over to the Isle of Man soon. Cheers for tuning in
Looking smart as… great job with the teak (what are you using to deoxidise the gel coat prior to polishing)?
Thanks 🙏 I’m using Maguiars Heavy Duty Oxidation Remover
Liked and thanks as always Nick...
Cheers Ian
The wing nuts are an upgrade so it’s easy in a seaway to change the impeller
Good to know thanks 🙏
just found the channel great few episodes , i moved to wales 6 years ago and i still cant say Pwlheli correct but here it is puh -theh -lee
🤣👍 thanks for tuning in and how to pronounce it 👌
Good job and she is slowly looking like a new pin. The overheating as you say could have been a stuck thermostat so great idea to replace that. Also, the sender unit maybe giving a false reading so again a good idea the change that too. I am not sure about boat engines, but if it has some form of radiator then maybe over time they become clogged and need draining or flushing through. The outside is looking much better and I was about to suggest using an electric sander but in the next caption you already had one. 😂 Keep up the good work Nick. 👍
Looking forward to following your adventures. My daughter lives at that marina you couldn’t pronounce 😂 she is a sailing instructor up there. Good luck with the gorgeous yacht 👍
Cheers 🥂
Teak looks much better! I'm guessing he painted it so it became maintenance free??
Hate to say but 9 time out of 10 it will be the heat exchanger....if the 2030 has rubber end caps it's fairly easy to access. Good to see another skint man like me... I have a 2022 Bonne Black tiger 800 and Najad 373.... you cant take money with you can you.
Your experience and knowledge is priceless. Speaking as a complete novice, this is all fascinating.Cant wait for your future episodes.
Might have to unsubscribe. Getting the itch for this with 3 bikes in the garage, I don’t think I can afford a boat 😢
Interesting video nick, the boat or is it yacht is looking very nice, thanks for posting.
Just brilliant 👍
@Sailing Sea Star a comment from your last video... Your "first sail boat", single handed? This should be interesting .... You may have never 'owned' a sailing yacht, but it doesn't look like it's your 'first rodeo' if I'm honest. 😉 Here's a prediction...After a few sunny weekends in the right locations on the boat, the girls will never be nagging you to ride on the pillion ever again...just sayin...🤣 Interested to know why you chose a sailing yacht instead of a motorised yacht given your previous experience? Will you be teaching your girls to dive? Now, that would be interesting viewing for me.....(Divemaster since 1996)
Hi Paul 👋 boats have been a thing for a while with diving days. I chose a sail boat due to us renting one last two years in the med and liked the feeling of just the wind. Girls will both be learning to dive yes. 👍 once the boat is ready she will sail down to the med where we will keep her there.
@@SailingSeaStar_ Living the dream..... I kind of wish I'd learnt to dive in the Med instead of ...Tamworth in October and afterwards...🤣
