this guy tagged teamed kira with 2 of the latest MS and had an entire fucking fleet right behind him and still can't beat him. what a joke.

It took a lot of pragmatic fighting for the Foundation to actually put Kira into a corner and even then, it took a good chunk of time to just render the MS he was using at those moments powerless. Against the Rising Freedom, it took brainwashing and then reading his mind to see his incoming attacks for his enemies to get the better of him. It then took Shura some more time to actually power down the RF as Kira's defensive capabilities aren't anything to scoff at. Also, Shura saying that he wants a 'fair' battle against his opponents is mostly just talk and not realistic. He fought Kira (RF) with assistance and then finished off an already crippled Kira (RF) who was mentally weakened in the last few moments. Against the Strike Freedom Type II, it took Shura and Orphee/Ingrid to actually overwhelm Kira properly but Kira's defensive reactions even before entering SEED Mode was enough to prevent him from losing immediately to the trio and the support battleships. Also, while Kira was gradually losing to Shura in their rematch, the former was actually able to keep up pretty well with the latter and Kira wasn't even in SEED Mode at that point. 'Outdated' in terms of armaments and capabilities in 'base' form compared to the opposition? Yes, Kira's personal MS kind of is not helped that the Foundation was heavily focused on killing Kira so the hijacked SF battle data they obtained contributes there. 'Outdated' in terms of being completely powerless and useless overall? No, Kira was able to keep up with Shura thanks to his own pilot experience and skill, even while Shura was serious about killing him. During Athrun's skirmish against Shura when the former temporarily used the SFII, Shura had to dodge the SFII's Dragoon shots and later when Shura fought Kira, he was actively dodging Kira's attempted counter attacks proving that even if Kira's MS is 'outdated', it's not truly powerless and/or useless while it can function. On the topic of Athrun (SFII) vs. Shura (Shive.A), Athrun had it WAY easier so it's not even fair at all. First, there was nobody else on the enemy side present bar Shura so Athrun had complete control of moving around without being placed under pressure from other enemies. Second, Shura himself told Orphee that since it was just the SFII and no other MS and/or battleship accompanying it, there was no need for anyone but himself to sortie against it. So, it was just Shura (Shive.A) vs. Athrun (SFII) thanks to Shura's request being accepted and honored at the time, Orphee was busy commanding the Foundation armada against the joint Millenium/Orb Fleet(s) until after Lacus was rescued in which Orphee decided to stop taking risks. Finally, Athrun's goal was to stall Shura until Lacus was rescued, not to kill Shura. So Athrun spent most of that encounter toying with Shura and insulting him to keep the latter's attention fixated on him. Shura only broke off from combat when it became apparent that he fell for the enemy's bait (Athrun) instead of realizing the true intention (rescuing Lacus).

For a nuclear-powered mobile suit, the Duel Blitz is rather lightly armed. The only weapon that could take advantage of the reactor output is the beam saber and beam rifle which he doesn't even grab, the railgun is tiny, the missile launcher only has two tubes and it only carries two lancer darts while the Blitz carried 3.
