Carried an Beretta M9 on two deployments. Back in the U.S. aftet the military I was issued a Sig Sauer P226 9mm which I carried for 20 years on duty. Carried a Glock 26 for my EDC. After the G26 I bought a G23, and G21. Now I have a Glock 34 and Glock 19X for emergency go-to fighting handguns.

I stood watch in the Navy with 1911A1. So I got a used one when I got out and really spent time learning about it beyond my basic duty experience with it. Great book on it btw, "The Colt .45 Automatic a shop manual", really allowed a deep dive into maintaining of my mongrel relic. It is an older Essex frame, Springfield slide and Wilson trigger and sights, and parts. The more I shot it, the more I liked it. The only time it ever jammed up was with crap magazines or crap ammo. Never had a problem with Kimber Mags. It's accuracy drifted over the years, so I put in a Sig stainless barrel with a new link, it really liked the new barrel. It shoots better now than when I got it, but it looks like it's personally seen 2 World Wars, the finish is nearly gone. I've shot the newer pistols some, I don't feel comfortable with them yet. But I am considering a new SA35 Hi Power clone, it's more of what I'm use to, just have to shoot everything twice to match the lead from the .45. But it's still Moses Fudd Browning as heck. His .50 cal "Ma Deuce" is still rocking the free world, they will call it Fudd next, I'll take it off your hands..

I was a Marine grunt in Fallujah in 2004 and Ramadi in 2005. I’ve spent 17 years in LE/Swat and man o man it’s crazy how CQB tactics have changed and been tweaked over the years. I look back at some things we did and laugh at how stupid some approved tactics were. A lot of blood has been spilled by patriots and the learning curve will be steep when the next fight begins. I pray we continue to evolve, innovate, and question to save lives but still effectively close with and destroy the enemy! Thanks for the breakdown. Thoroughly enjoyed the video

My glock 19 gen 5 is a perfect concealed carry pistol in size and capacity. For hot weather. I switch back and forth between that and my 1911 5 inch barrel 45acp 230 grain loads have plenty of knock down power. Glock shoots very smooth love the new features too

Jeff With these newer methodologies in mind vs the classic method, do you find clearing the immediate threat (anything in the center of the room regardless of depth for this context) & then clearing TO your corner (engaging any threats on your way to your respective corner) is beneficial or preferred compared to clearing the immediate threat then defaulting to clearing the corner next (i.e. potentially skipping over threats in between the center & deep corner & catching those skipped threats during your scan back across the room/to your partner)? Hopefully that made sense.

In ‘07 our team house had a dozen G19s on the property book, so we were all able to carry one. I’ve always felt like a mediocre shooter with the M9, but with the G19 I could put a round wherever I wanted as fast as I wanted.

Did you ever deploy with Air Force Special Tactics? What was your experience with them?

I like how you are proud of your service but aren’t shoving it in everyone’s faces how cool you are. I wish I took some cool photos when I was in the army. All I took were goofy photos lol.

Civilian here who messes around with airsoft with some friends, some of whom are vets and all of us love shooting. One is a big swinging combat vet. Minus him, I'd say we've all got the basics down (footwork, focus on winning the fight, speed and aggression, shoot the reds, don't shoot the greens). We built a little shoot house a while back and reorganize it every now and again. One day we're "running rabbit," where five of us are stacked up and one person is in the structure with a shoot-no shoot reversible target on a stick that we shoot or don't (then pause for him to move, of course) and then go into the next room and shoot or don't, etc. etc. Since we all wear eye protection all the time (following a desk pop that somehow bounced off at least two surfaces halfway across a 7500 square foot building and hit someone JUST below the eye) the rabbit decided to fight back. Five of us with rifles versus one guy who by himself reorganized the building with a pistol. We got absolutely rocked. Didn't expect resistance, didn't expect movement. Surprised and stressed and the only reason we "won" is because he ran out of ammo after popping 4 of the 5 of us. For all the safety guys, I'll mention that all six of us had mutually agreed that we'd just do this sometimes with no prior mention. We all knew it in theory, but that really helped us all realize that when you're the ones kicking a door, you are at a disadvantage no matter what. All the skills and gear you have are cards stacked in your favor, not some Five Card Exodia I Win button.
