    By the looks of the crops around. you are on pretty good soil. That bar you have will not go through rocks. If you are in rocky soil and land right on top of a large rock it won't to anything and you will never be able to pry it to the side.. The best approach is a gas powered hammer drill with a bit appropriately sized for the t-post.

    This is an interesting solution. I repurpose nails from pallets that I disassemble, the healthy and straight-ish ones. I nail them at an angle and according to each tool's shape and they do this job perfectly well, they're quite solid.

    I’ve been watching a lot of reviews on battery powered chain saws. All my other battery powered tools are DeWalt. Your review is really making lean toward getting one of these. I’ve just recently found your channel and really enjoy your content. You have a new 71 year old subscriber in Middleton, Idaho.

    • @herrickkimball
      @herrickkimball Před 2 dny

      Hi Neil, Welcome aboard. I’ve used the DeWalt chainsaw a lot since the review. Still like it but it has its quirks. Uses a lot of chain oil for one. I am no longer using bar oil to lubricate. Too expensive. I have partial containers of motor oil that I’m using, and looking to buy partial containers of any kind of oil at estate and yard sales. Good enough. And the oil does leak out some when you set the saw down. I lay it on its side so it doesn’t leak. That’s the biggest drawback to this saw. Otherwise, it is downright convenient to grab and go. I plan on having an update video on this saw hopefully next month. 👍

    Your design does not allow you to release trapped gas bubbles at the apex of the tube, in-situ. I too am designing a rainwater barrel network. Siphons were my first consideration because they do not require modification of the barrels. I've designed my (potential) siphon so that I can monitor and replace air within the tube with water, in-situ, to prevent airlock. Useful things, siphons. Thanks for the video.

    As demonstrated, I discovered screws are much easier to remove when something isn't right. Which happens frequently when you never finished a basement before, you keep watching youtube and coming up with new ideas, and the project spans so much time you forget what you were doing to start with.
