The lines of the arch support and heel are superb!

My biggest problem is that there is no consistency in sizing. Even varies greatly through brands. May have 3-5 pair that fit great from one brand and then all of a sudden buy a new pair at same size and it’s over a full size different. Wolverine was the latest I thought figured out, but was wrong. 😢

As far as size goes, I think that you are at a healthy limit. bookcase -healthy . I am not a derby fan, but I think that the last shoe you showed is exceptionally beautiful. But My whore wings would have to be a balmoral. . my collection started from 11 to 15 inch tall beetle boots none of that ankle high crap and from there I just liked everything to be closed laced or zipped on .my derby/blutchers. Don’t get much use as I am just not used to them. I can only wear them to the car before I change my mind and go back and change out of them.. baby steps

I stayed away from hatch grain for a while vecause of it beibg made generalky of corrected leather/lesser quality. That saud i bought some brown crocket and jones hatchvgrain about a month ago and love them. Might try a pair of conistons in hatch grain too.

really enjoy your reviews in general, but downgrading the acme because of a shoe tree that makes noise? and the acme is from their lower grade shoe line, etc. (i just picked up the yearn balmoral boot, coincidentally, and i don't think i'm at the level that i can 'nitpick' like this. i think that it's a really nice boot, extremely well priced.

Didn't they immediately apologize and offer to remake? Mistakes happen right? You offered a somewhat weird proposition that you would get to wear them for awhile and then decide. Businesses need to move on from a sale and can't have open ended agreements like that. I don't think your story detracts from Carmina. Certainly not for me. I've bought 3 pairs since this story came out.

I would love a light leather color Role Club engineer boot like this.. I got some black Horween Horsehide Wesco Mr. Lou's the other month and now I really really like engineer boots.. love just being able to slip them on.. so convenient.. and its more leather there to love! I actually think your Clinch shape looks more sleek.. but finishing wise.., nothing beats Role Club imo.. and damn, do I love his outsoles.. I also like that he does them a little shorter than most.. thanks..

yes,, please do more elaborate videos on the differences in Horween, Rocado, Shinki, and Maryam.. they appear to be the main players for Shell and so far I've only had Horweens.. very curious to try the other tanneries offerings.. especially Rocado marble or museum.. thanks!

The most important difference you need to understand is that Shinki Cordovan are a well-finished horse butt . it is not a shell like the Horween. The front side of the shinki has hair follicles, the back side is well-processed pulp.

One thought I would like to add about the value of a proper fit is that the item will function properly. Duh to myself! I totally agree with you about caring for our shoes and jeans. I have to admit/confess that I wash and then dry my jeans in the dryer until they are dry. What!??? The pattern used for the Relaxed Fit Lee Jeans is the perfect fit for me. They seem to get a little stretched out some after a wear or two, and the drying in the dryer seems to bring them back to the fit I prefer. They last for years and are not expensive. Just my 4 cents.

Man, even getting your hands on either of these two seems like a real chore.
