In October 2023 i hiked across Madeira trying to follow the MIUT route from Porto Moniz to Poiso in 5 days. The original trails runs to Machico but was skipped due to bad weather.

Solo hiking the Julian Alps in the Triglav National Park Slovenia 2021

First time filming a solo hike in the Julian Alps, part of the Triglav National Park. Gear used was a Sony A7ii with a Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 lens. Turns out the A7ii isn't that great for filming. I have muted some clips due to excessive wind noise. Will bring an external microphone next time :)

Looks good. Is that backpack all you took with you? And at what time of the year did you go there? Oh and how did you go from and to places, is public transportation reliable? Or could you sleep close to the hikinh spots aswell? Sorry for all the questions. Anyways, great content.
Yes the backpack was all. I stayed in mountain huts so no camping gear needed. Public transportation was very reliable, unfortunately my backpack got stolen on the way to the airport so please sat carefull. This hike was around august

A beautiful composition. What time of year did you do your hike. Im thinking of going mid-June and Im wondering whether there will be too much snow.
This was the end of july. Mid june might be to early
Did you always sleep outside (no huts), and were there enough places to eat of buy food?
Yeah i only camped but most of the time next to guesthouses so i could eat there. If you dont plan on staying there you need to bring extra food

Alles was zeer goed begaanbaar toen ik er was, geen sneeuw op de trail gezien

They are not the highest mountains in Europe but they are really pretty . So people from Switzerland , should not criticise people with smaller mountains . Slovenia is so pretty !

Hi super keen to know what month you did this. Did you have issues with dogs/bears/wolves? I'm a solo older female hiker planning not on the PoB but some circuits in the area such as going Theth-Valbone-Vusijne-Gusinje-Theth. I will also be tenting. Comments on that? Water access? Good camping spots? Mostly interested in the wild animal and dog issue that i hear so much about - particularly shepherd dogs!
Hi! This was the second half of June. I didn't encounter any bears / wolves. Dogs yes, but all were friendly. Just be aware of dogs who protect the sheep / other cattle by not crossing them. In the video i am petting one of the shepherd dogs @14:23. I stayed at the guesthouses with my tent so i could enjoy their food, besides the guesthouses there are so many spots to pitch a tent. Water access is good, do bring a filter

Fantastic video! 1) Would it have been possible to complete the POB in less than 10 days, or would that have been too hard? 2) How was the access to buy meals/food along the route/trail? 3) Did you experience tick bites?
Hi, less than 10 days is for sure possible if you have a good condition or don't pack a tent and sleep in de guesthouses. Don't expect to many possibility buying found around the trail except for guesthouses. I usually camped there and eat dinner and breakfast. No ticks at all, but there were a lot of musquitos around Plav!

Thanks! Ja hoor geen enkel probleem, als je in de guesthouses wil slapen zou ik voor de zekerheid wel reserveren, met een tent is dat uiteraard niet nodig

Hi Joost, gave video! Heb je ook de etappes in Kosovo gelopen? Ik heb gelezen dat daar nu een snelweg wordt gebouwd dus dat het daardoor minder mooi is. Wat is jouw ervaring?
Thanks! Yes ik ben ook door Kosovo gegaan. Er was daar wel een weg in aanbouw, een snelheid is een groot woord die ga je niet vinden in deze gebieden :) plus hetgeen in aanbouw was ook maar een deel van de route. Ik zou Kosovo gewoon meepakken, hou er wel rekening mee dat de route markering daar iets minder is. Kortstondig verdwalen is gegarandeerd
