My name is Dennis and I've been a train enthusiast since 1965. You will see from my playlists that I am also interested in music.
The first still photo I ever took was of Ww 571 in September 1969 at the tender age of 11 (me that is, not the loco!). The first motion picture I ever took was at Easter 1972 of J 1236 & Ja 1250 in the Manawatu Gorge about a month before I turned 14.
I took the background photo (above) at Bad Ischl in Austria on 24th June 1987. The E18 was built in the 1930s and this one was probably the only one still working at the time. Marklin & Trix have produced a model of this loco when it was in this colour scheme.
My Avatar photo is of J 1211 (in streamlined form as originally fitted in 1939) on the Gisborne Line taken at Easter 1989.

This is a cardboard recording that were common during the 1950s & 60s as a cheap give-away/promotional gimmick. It was produced by The New Zealand Apple & Pear Marketing Board. It may have played on the radio at the time (the 1950s) as an advertisement. It was curled up at the corners and the only way I could get it to play on my turntable was to tape the corners down.

This is my edit of the opening of the movie starting just after the theme music ends. The original uses hard cuts between shots and I thought it much more appropriate to use cross-fades to convey the sense of a long period of time. I made the cross-fades progressively shorter as we get closer to the start of the action. The picture is in 4 x 3 aspect ratio as that is what was broadcast when I r...

Well that one hell of a kiss
He was storing Snowball II in his tracksuit? Was he also storing the other girls' cats in there? How many can he hold?
if you view this without taking sides you see mimi's personality as very much like john forthright blunt even nasty also how she talked to john even when he was famous, keeping him grounded also georges personality is very much like mimi is some ways, its a liverpool character trait, there is love but its not always the lovey dovey type its tough and there is an understanding. I dont think the beatles would have been the way they were if it wasnt for this aspect to their characters.
WHAT A FOX!
Lennon should've been embarrassed by that tramp mother of his who couldn't even hang onto her kid much less a steady man. Mimi and Uncle George spoilt the shIt out of John, and it was his Uncle that introduced him to the wonders of reading and the classics that he based his own writing style on. And if Mimi was so against his pursuit of music then why would she have bought him his first guitar?
George. Toughass from the bottom to the toppermost.
She was on the Virginia Graham show in the 1960's, and told the host that playing Granny was the easiest and best paying job she had in show business, "Two and a half days every week and I was in and out," said Miss Ryan.
Grannies last name wasn't Clampett it was Moses,Jed Clampett was her son in law.
Her full name was Daisy Moses but if I used that name in the title nobody would know who I was talking about. Thanks for watching.

I grew up with the Beverly Hillbillies in 1960s Australia. I'm currently watching the series from the beginning on Prime, it's quite the nostalgia trip. I'd forgotten just how funny it was, and a lot of that is down to Irene's flawless portrayal of Granny. That lady was absolutely hilarious in terms of both her physicality and vocal delivery, and she's so good in that role that you forget she's acting. The entire cast is superb, there are no weak links. Raymond Bailey (Milburn Drysdale) is another of my fave cast members. He never got enough recognition for his contribution, imho. A very funny and talented man.
Is a cat now
Mimi was an opinionated chain smoking snob and family control freak
I heard she could leave the set after filming sans makeup and walk right past autograph seekers without being recognized.
I am Lugash
Didn't she also say "When I grow up, I want to be a sweetie-pie" or something. Memory is fuzzy...
That's a new one on me and I'm sure I've seen every Simpsons episode (except for in the last couple of years). Maybe it was on a more recent episode that I've missed. These quotes, of course, come from the era of classic Simpsons.
I could be wrong. The older I get, the smarter I ain't!
I've remembered where that quote comes from and it is from The Simpsons alright. It was said by Little Miss Springfield, you know, the one whose sceptre was made of metal and not plastic so she got zapped by lightning and Lisa, as runner up, got to take over her position (until she realised that the sponsor of the competition was Laramie Cigarettes and she got disgusted by the whole thing and quit). Or did she say cutie-pie?🤔 @@afoolandhismoneychannel
This episode seemed so fake.
What was he anyway? xD German? Russian? Slavic? Hungarian?
When Dr Smith was given the personality of the robot, he should not have been strong enough to lift heavy boulders.
He's better than Abby Lee Miller. That's for sure.
I'm from the U.S. I got the impression from the early 1960s British science fiction movies "The Day the Earth Caught on Fire" and "Children of the Damned"(originally released in the U.K. as "The Damned") that the Teddy Boys had a reputation for juvenile delinquency.
Yes they did
ok,,, where's the rest of the video?
That's all I have, sorry. The rest might be elsewhere on YT or it is probably under copyright.
İS CAT NOW! Dankmus song
John was funny that way and he did stick for George so good on John for doing so.
👃
0:42 - If Gorgie's hands were as dirty as in this picture, I can understand Mimi ;) Damn, George was a great storyteller.
Hair combed like Elvis, collar turned up, cigarette in hand. All the signs of a hard-core juvenile delinquent of that era.
don't forget the classic 'drain-pipe' trousers

It’s also used this song in Green Eggs and Ham when Guy and Sam running from a Goat.
*Jump out window, and go tell parents to STOP WASTING MY TIME WITH FAILURE CHILD!!!!!* As heavy as the accent is, I can still make out what he's saying.
Why is it when girls do it it’s cute but when guys do it it’s disgusting? Double Standard!
I’m half-German and do those burger-eating, baseball-loving, Americans think we’re Russian or something?
I've always considered Lugash to be Slavic, not German at all. If he defected in to East Germany (GDR) then he must have come from a Slavic country as an immigrant to the West and then found that the West was too soft so went to the GDR.😄
At least you did ONE of them... There are more tho... the one with the pressure gauge (sorry for the spelling), the one which is basically the last 2 seconds of the intro just slightly different
Yeah, I don't watch that series anymore. It used to be shown on the Discovery Channel at about lunchtime so I would have my lunch while watching it. I watched all the episodes about 4 or 5 times so finally got sick of it, but the music (some of it) is cool. That was the transition I liked so I really just recorded that for myself and then I uploaded it because I thought others might like it as well. PS your spelling of gauge is absolutely correct, nothing to worry about.😉
