How to remove a Shimano SLX RT64 centerlock disc brake disc
This is a quick video on centerlock disc brake disc removal. It can be opened using a cassette tool (spline tool) and while the lockring is very similar to the cassette lockring, it's slightly different and are not interchangeable.
I reccommend checking the tightness of the locknut every 6 months or so, to make sure it has not loosened or even broken.
I have a Shimano SLX RT64 centerlock disc brake on a Shimano SLX M675 front hub. Very nice combination and the 180mm diameter gives great braking power.

How to tell if your Shimano HG53 bicycle chain is stretched/worn out and needs to be replaced
zhlédnutí 3,6KPřed 7 lety
In this video we are taking a look at chain stretch and wear. Both of these factors affect how your gears work, if the gears skip and how the bike feels overall. By regularly oiling and checking your bicycle chain, you make sure that the chain does not wear out prematurely. I am using a 9 speed Shimano HG53 chain, Shimano HG50 rear cassette on a Shimano SLX M675 rear centerlock hub. The front c...

Cleaning a bicycle chain with WD-40 and then relubing it

Every couple of months it is good to clean your chain and then apply fresh lube. This keeps the amount of wear down and keeps all the parts working properly. With this chain so far I've done about 2500 kilometers and the chain and gears look in very good shape :). I am running a Shimano HG53 chain, Shimano HG50 cassette (9 speed) and an SLX M675 rear hub. Thanks! Still valid 7 years on :) For me letting go of the brakes as I tightened the screws worked best. Loosen screws, hit the brake a couple times, then tighten. I noticed that when I hit the brakes the whole caliper assembly moved inboard, thus holding them on while tightening kept them in the offset position.

Spent about 500 miles on it and so far so good. czcams.com/users/postUgkxMesz3KOGEmwmvyKQfLfrRSUXLFzfVHZA Pros:1. Very light2. Solid quality build3. Fast delivery: It arrived 5 weeks earlier than expected.4. Easy assemblyJust a few cons but nothing major:1. Cheap tin tubes and had flat on first day... but not a big deal. I replaced the tubes.2. Seat is a bit uncomfortable but that's pretty much the same situation with most bikes.3. Seat post is a bit long/high for a smaller size 48 bike - had to saw 2 inch off to fit properly. The lowest setting is too high. The post locking system does not seem to hold well (perhaps because I saw 2 inch off).4. wheels are not tubeless compatible (from what I can tell)

No issues with assembly for me czcams.com/users/postUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L but I could see where some might benefit from using an experienced bike assembler/mechanic. I'm an older rider starting back after a 10 year break. This bike exceeds my capabilities and has been easy to get comfortable riding. I'm mostly on easy trails with almost no street riding and have not been disappointed with the performance of the bike. My fitness level is far below what I previously rode with and because of that the mileage is going on the bike slowly. While I'm losing weight slowly, the bike seems to tolerate my 220 pounds just fine. The bike has been used by several family members ranging from 5'5" - 5'9".

Your video is the best for explaining the shift from left to right on V-Brakes. Most ppl are too ADD to explain it correctly. Tightening the screw on right side shifts the V-Brakes towards the right side, lifting the right brake pad AWAY from the rim. Loosening the screw on the right side shifts the entire V-brake towards the left, thus bringing the right brake pad closer to the rim.

This tutorial is wrong... First and foremost, the limiters are adjusted first with No cable tension, otherwise the cable and limiters are fighting each other. Release cable tension FIRST, Then adjust the limiters. Then... Tension the cable in the High gear and then adjust the index with the barrel nut.

I have 100 miles to go to cross the country and tomorrow is Christmas. I'm hoping it will stay just tight enough to make the trip, but it's pretty wobbly and starting to grind a bit. Wish me luck 😬

Terminology - "Cable Tension Adjustment Knob = Barrel Adjuster // "Small Sprokets/Gears = Pulleys // Limit Screws Are "High & "Low" (High Gear & Low Gear) and are indicated by H & L designations many derailleurs. To avoid confusion - When you say you are shifting "higher" or "ïnward", you are actually down-shifting to a lower gear, and vice versa. This is a really important concept for cyclists to learn and understand.
