How to remove remove disc brake squeal/creaking - Hayes HMX mechanical brakes

In this tutorial we are taking a look at Hayes HMX mechanical disc brakes. Sometimes contaminants cause the brake to squeal horribly - by removing the pads and cleaning it, we can renew the braking surface and in all likelyhood remove the creaking.

Some good ideas with the heat gun. Using rubber gloves to reinstall all of the clean parts is always a good idea.
BB7's only have one piston that stops you by bending the rotor into the stationary pad.
TRP's have a dual piston and both sides squeeze the rotor. This is far superior to the BB7's. :)

Wear gloves. U have oil on your skin which defeats all the work if you're not careful.
