Not many watches look good with scratches. This particular watch, it adds character. My opinion makes it more versatile.
How's the moon mobs? Is it every day or each month? Thank you.
@@RideLow883-fk9gv I’m Sorry but I don’t think I understand what you mean by Moon Mobs. Please clarify. Thanks!
I love my Ranger. People call the lume fauxtina but I agree with you it’s not. I think of it as 1990s tacticool green-yellow. I know that sounds pejorative but I’m all about that motif.
Great video and I need to get this watch back in my collection, it’s a great watch!
Rolex is king but clearly smaller than the SARB
36mm is the best size! Glad you kept it classic!
Ward.. get your all watches COSC certified, i don t mind paying extra usd 250 - 300 more for that. Tks for the vid, man.
Do you think this will fit a 6in wrist?
Well I think the watch will. But the strap flares out past the end links and is pretty firm, so it may overhang your wrist there. Of course you could always put it on a different strap!
@@WatchDanReviews thank you for the response! Do you happen to know what the lug width so I can purchase a new band?
Glad I bought mine absolutely love it.
Well light swim and submerged under water for 50m wr is nothing challenging. Anny serious water activities would be dangerous. People doing watch reviews realy down play 50m wr like it barely can handle drops of rain. Once I lef my timex expedition scout in one of my jeans pockets and throw them into washing mashine, and the watch was absolutely fine.
speed it up Dan, I'm falling asleep
Noted. Thanks for the feedback, Dick 🤣
I bought the Ranger to complete my “Explorer” experience. I have the R ilex evxplotet in 39 m2 and in 36 mm. I purchased a BB Pro as I preferred it to the Explorer 2. And the Ranger to complete the “set”. Happy with all my purchases and rotate them depending on on my mood.
Is the Ranger close to the comfort of your Explorer 39?
Yes it is and the perceived clarity of the dial on the wrist is actually better. My only gripe is the lume
@@jhlaprime9952 that seems to be a very common complaint! Thank you for your feedback 👍👍
My first luxury watch was a Rolex 6694, I loved it,but it was just a bit small for modern times, so I traded it in for my Omega 2254 SMP ( doubled my money on the Rolex in the process). When the Tudor Ranger came out it reminded me very much of my old Rolex but in a modern size. I bought one last Christmas and couldn’t be happier with it, the dial looks far better in person than in videos or photos. It’s now in regular rotation with my 2254smp and my Orange bezel Planet Ocean and I absolutely love it.
I like the steel bracelet 👍 I have this watch but on a NATO strap.
Beautiful Datejust❤
Thank you!
Unfortunately though it’s cool, this watch isn’t a real field watch. It’s just an homage throwback to traditional field watches. It’s not made to any government specification.
Huh…well thank you for sharing!
Always someone who feels like they know it all, the definition of a field watch is "A minimalistic military watch designed to display accurate time" so nice comment buddy but check your facts first
@@Cables_ lol nonsense, there is no singularly correct definition of a field watch. What does exist are government specifications for watches intended to be used by military personnel, which is where the term field watch comes from. The Hamilton Khaki Field mechanical as shown in this video was made as an homage to the 60s-70s era us military watches which were made to a specific government specification. This is common knowledge. This current khaki field watch doesn’t meet those specifications and so is not a “field watch”.

I have no respect for Ginault. Monta all the way ! It'a a better watch made by a legit team.
Great review and nice voice
Pictures of the Ranger don't do the watch justice. I think it's a great looking watch in person.
They really don’t! It’s an absolute stunner. Cheers!
I wear mine every day at work and it runs at +0.3spd which is good enough for me! Great video!
I should have bought one, I should have bought one, why didn't I buy one?!...
If you are interested I might be willing to sell mine!
Not surprised by these results Ginault is my favorite hands down
Hello Dan, after seeing the abuse your spb155 suffered...i really think you shouldn't have worn it while doing construction and other serious work...Dan my friend that is the purpose of a G-Shock😂 man you really made this gorgeous watch look like a truck ran over it..
I have a one watch collection, this watch, 38mm version black dial. Love it
Mine is well broken in with more than a handful of scratches. I think it looks even better now. Love this watch.
Just another Tudor shitter
Very nice-both the watch and video! I have several Seiko watches, but I don't think any will come close to this. This video is as good as and better than most of the other 15 I have watched. Great close-ups and nobody has ever shown the bracelet off the watch as you did! My Silent Service (no Cyclops) is due in 5 weeks, 2 days, 9 hours, and 43, 42, 41 seconds. But who's counting?
Congratulations! It’s a really nice watch…worth every penny no matter what the haters say.
@@WatchDanReviews I'd like to take a minute to agree with your last comment...I don't know why these "haters" keep getting attention. I don't care what the history of this watchmaker is right now. I care about the quality of the watch in my hand. And according to every review I have seen - this is an "outstanding" watch - riveling Rolex! Even if (and there is NO PROOF of this anywhere) the watchmaker produced fake watches previously - HE'S NOT DOING IT NOW..And if that is how he honed his technical expertise, well, so be it. Leave the past where it belongs - in the past. As for me, I want a quality watch, as close to hand made as possible. When it's handmade, MY WATCH will be the only one like it in the world. There will be others "like it," but not the same. I am looking forward to having "that" on my wrist. And there will only be a limited supply of "this watch." This watchmaker isn't going to make this same watch forever, and he can only make a limited supply. So, in twenty-five years, when my son is wearing this watch, and nobody else has one, then what? Who was right? (And there is reason to believe it will be around because the simplicity of working on the Saleta movement will ensure that!) If you have gotten this far, thanks for putting up with my rant. I have a hard time with people who jump onto the media bandwagon with no proof - because "they can." It insults other people's intelligence. I'm looking forward to my watch. Take care, Ken
@@kenfritz9565 I agree with you, Ken! The finishing of this watch is better than many of my Swiss watches. Even the hand-placed, rhodium plated indices are aligned absolutely perfectly.
Excelent review! Thank you!!!!
Thank you!!
I had a Tudor Heritage Ranger and sold it to buy the new one. I haven't yet, because I keep coming across new watches I *have* to have, but man, this watch is total perfection.
It’s my go to now. Also, don’t look now but I saw the Railmaster in silver for like $2600 on Joma yesterday!
Tudor 1926 for dress and the ranger for everything else, i feel like they are sister watches
Congratulations, it’s a beautiful and a great watch. I own the Tudor BB GMT stainless steel on bracelet, since 3 years and 2 months ago and the BB heritage (41mm.) since almost 4 years ago. I love both, everything works perfectly and I don’t have any problem with the thickness o diameter because I have a big wrist. Last month i tried the Tudor Ranger and I decided to buy it . Next week I will go to pick it up. Thanks for the video, very useful and great information about the watch.
Nice review. Got one on the way
Thanks a lot! Enjoy it 👍
I have one and love it. My only slight criticism is on the clasp. I wish the edges were softened, and that little piece that kicks up was removed (so the whole clasp were smooth).
You talking about the part of the swing arm that sits under the fold over part of the clasp?
Yes that piece.
@@bobdegutis302 ya I agree. If the watch is too tight that piece is irritating. But for me it is largely negated with the T fit…but I do agree they should have beveled that edge like the do on a Rolex, or even a Seiko Prospex.
I’ve been wearing the ranger loose and have gotten used to a loose fit, as suggested by my AD. too snug and the crown would rub the top of my hand. This is my favorite watch ever (so far) and I’m very pleased. Timekeeping is very good, over 2 months it is +15, a big improvement over the seiko that I am coming from
@@bobdegutis302 wow + 8 seconds a month is really great. That’s like 3/10 of a second per day, well within METAS/superlative territory. Mines gaining about 6/10 of a second per day which is second only to my AquaTerra which all things considered basically keeps even time at the end of the day, not gaining or losing at all.
I agree with you. The 39mm Ranger is a sleeper. I bought it back in November and it became my favorite Tudor in my collection. It will be a watch people want later on.
People?🤨 I dont want that. Too much money for a no date just like that explorer I.....🤭
It’s nice but I need a date window for a daily watch
I visualize this watch with a date and cyclops!
Just a beautiful watch. I got mine today. Sugges & Seagull have pretty respectable reputations. The lum is very good but the glare off the crystal is pretty pronounced.
Obviously
My most worn watch
I love mine and I have the black bay proand GMT Pepsi too but this is the very everyday watch . Looking for lhd pelagos
Great review. I want CW design with Ginault build quality. Subs were never my favorite looking divers.
Indices are printed on, not applied, and the pins are just push pins unfortunately. Great watch and review tho. Hearing what you put this watch through gives me so much more confidence in its performance
Ginault is made in a superclone factory. 😂🤡
Really? Have you been there?
Bought one, sold it quickly and still think it was a mistake. It's a very solid watch. I think it was just that yellow / faux vintage lume that I didn't like
Thanks for watching and commenting! You mean a mistake to buy it, or a mistake to sell it?
@@WatchDanReviews mistake to sell it. I think it’s really good value and a perfect tool watch
@@michaelbishop9157 I think I’ll hang onto it!
Photos don’t really show the color or dial very well, it’s a great looking watch in person. That said, it would have been even better with regular white lume.
I would love to see it with white lume. Anybody know photoshop??
The design of this model was just what I was looking for in my next watch. The clean unassuming face with a brushed steel case/bracelet and solid build quality that doesn't attract attention. The Ranger fits my style of a luxury daily driver like a Toyota Land Cruiser, well done Tudor.
I agree with all of this. It’s an unassuming luxury watch that will take a beating without batting an eye if you subject it to difficult terrain. But it is also very attractive in a subtle way!
Hey Dan, Amazing Review, I own BB Pro GMT, Pelagos 39 and Pelagos 42. recently added the Ranger. The Ranger by far is becoming my favorite. I get more compliments wearing it than any other Tudors, It gets more wrist time than any other time piece I own, Excellent time piece without a doubt. Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦
That’s awesome!! Enjoy that Ranger-it’s a beauty!
Another Canuck - awesome! I had the Pelagos 42, the Heritage Ranger, and currently own the BB 58 Blue. I find the BB 58 fits my thinner wrist much better. On the fence with the revised Ranger - hoping that it works size-wise...This one looks great!
I originally wasn’t a fan of these and eventually I grew to really like these. I’d still save for an explorer than have this but it’s still a great watch.
Ya I hear you. The explorer is a grail for me, I bought this hoping to scratch that itch. But the itch is still there 😅
This watch does not photograph or film well. Once you get this magnificent watch in hand you can't help but fall in love. This is an amazing watch.
That is the truth…it’s 100% different in person!
Got my Ranger when it first came out. Really love it especially the quick adjust bracelet.
The bracelet is a masterpiece…to be honest if this watch had a lesser bracelet it would definitely be a lot less desirable on the whole.
Check out other reviews with macro shots. Numerals and indices have a definite bleeding look. Looks cheap and plain.
That’s a bummer! Have you checked one out in person yet?
