"Perpetuum Mobile" - Wilhelm Middelschulte (1863-1943)
“Practice makes perfect,” the saying goes. And so, before sudden illness claimed the life of Timothy Coriddi in 2017, he was preparing Middelschulte’s famous virtuosic pedal solo. This 2015 practice recording was made at Western Presbyterian Church in Palmyra, NY. Timothy hadn’t registered the piece yet, and in the end, he would have played it faster because he could. But in this recording, which was undoubtedly a self-administered test of his progress, we are reminded again of the amazing talent of our friend and colleague. May this posthumous release of Timothy’s practice recording inspire all who listen to do as Timothy did: aim high and work without ceasing.

We enjoyed too briefly, the magnificent talent of a young musical prodigy. Our loss, Heaven’s gain.
every time i see this young boy playing the organ, i feel a little bit sad. he is not anymore on earth. this amazing organist is playing so good. we enjoy this playing!!!
Is it a Man or Woman performing????
It is a Man performing.
Marvelous sound!!
For TALL players.....I've posted this clip on FB to illustrate the complex physiology when a tall organist plays an ill-designed console. This talented young man might be criticized for his poor posture....but can he help it? Look carefully at what is happening here. The bench is too low, and therefore one can easily see he must pull his knees up merely to release the pedals, keeping his back painfully stressed and arched in the process. Meanwhile he's playing a keyboard that is just about low enough to be in his lap. Then look at the music rack. He's arching his neck upwards in jerks in order to see a music rack that is about a foot above the swell! If a 5'2" organist played this instrument, it would fit better, but it might be impossible to see or reach the music. Admittedly the human race is getting taller, and many ancient organs were indeed designed for a smaller race of people. The late Dutch organist Feike Asma was a huge, tall man, and there were many organs he simply couldn't pry himself into. At the Hinsz organ in Bolswatrd, NL I watched him play while his knees were lodged tightly under the Rugwerk. Even this accomplished organist couldn't make that look easy. Properly designed consoles are essential for the organ student. Later, when they're more accomplished, they can play under "combat conditions". There is NO technique to physiologically adapt to a poorly-designed and ill-fitting console. Kudos on a first-rate performance under some of the worst conditions!
Woaw incroyable bravo ❤ impressionnant 😮.
RIP
I love your movements, and the piece you play is so beautiful. Will buy it soon here in Germany.

The organ is digital. Thanks for asking!
Wowwww
i love that you are able to capture the bass of the organ really well
Very well done. Is that an Austin Organ?
Thank you! Actually, it is an Allen Organ.
Timothy is so in control of this great French work and the Marshall and Ogletree organ magnificent!
2:21
There is a story, which may have some factual basis, about a "cutting contest" between a French organist (Louis Marchand) and Bach. Apparently, Marchand, wanting to get the drop on his prospective opponent, snuck into the church where Bach was practicing the night before. So our boy Marchand is listening, making notes, when apparently Bach started in on this piece. It's possible that Bach may have realized that Marchand was in the church, and wanted to scare him off. Marchand left town that night and did not show for the contest. Bach 1, Marchand 0.
2:50 gives me chills The trill/improvisation at 2:37 is just so good
Wonderful 😊
I like the way you play Virgil Fox's version ... maybe even more than the way HE played it!
I like the way you play Virgil Fox's version ... easliy as much as ... if not better than the way HE played it!

What samplesets did you use? How did you create the new sampleset? Is it available for use?

Ciao Tim!!!
Would you consider sharing this sample set?

Beautifully Done!
Esse hino é muito lindo
1 Let all mortal flesh keep silence and with fear and trembling stand; ponder nothing earthly-minded, for with blessing in his hand Christ, our God, to earth descending, comes our homage to command. 2 King of kings, yet born of Mary, as of old on earth he stood, Lord of lords in human likeness, in the body and the blood he will give to all the faithful his own self for heav’nly food. 3 Rank on rank the host of heaven spreads its vanguard on the way as the Light from Light, descending from the realms of endless day, comes the pow’rs of hell to vanquish as the darkness clears away. 4 At his feet the six-winged seraph, cherubim with sleepless eye, veil their faces to the presence as with ceaseless voice they cry: “Alleluia, alleluia! Alleluia, Lord Most High!”
Awesome. I heard this played at the dedication of the new Moller Organ at Tindley Temple UMC in Philadelphia
15 seconds in and I’m already in tears of joy
To God be the Glory !!! 😁😁😁
Wow, so totally shocked that he has passed away and over five year ago. Always watched him play "Grand Choeur Dialogue" every time the video popped up on CZcams. So sad.
Nice rendition of this hymn.. Yesterday in service they played this .pipe organ and all. I'm usually one of the Frozen chosen, I don't do anything to draw attention to myself.. I had to sing to this glorious hymn.. Love the hymns..
Awesome coolness
Que obra tan maravillosa y tan difícil, felicidades
What chord does this Hymn begin with?
Hi! Could you send me the music sheet? Please:)
Sublime encuentro con DIOS !
Dear organist, why do you mix bass stops with high-pitched stops? Isn't it better when bass sounds like clear regular bass, 32', 16', even with some thunder and growl?
No , you need enough harmonics to enjoy the sound, and in the otherhand - the deep pipes speaks to slowly for such a fast played piece!
well played!
My heart has been infected by a bacteria; endocarditis, after a surgery. Potentialy lethal, thanks be to God, i'm ok . Great talent lost to a terrible desease. 🙏🙏🙏
What a beautiful memorial to an outstanding young man. Thank you
