- Bach's contemplative chorale prelude on "Liebster Jesu, wir sind hier," BWV 634, as performed on my Hauptwerk system. In this piece, the choral melody appears as a canon at the interval of a fifth. To highlight the meaning and structure of the composition, I have incorporated the text from verses 1 & 4.
Thanks for watching, I hope you enjoy!
Beautiful!
Don Marsille Thank you!
You're a great organist!
Very Nice Tim, I must try and have a go at that some time! :o)
RobCharles1981 Thanks, Rob! This piece is a nice contrast to BWV 731...
:)
Thank you, Tim for sharing this Bach piece for the 'King of Instruments!'
Dave Illar My pleasure, Dave, thanks!
Well, that's yet another Bach piece I've never heard before. But, I enjoyed hearing you play it.
RonN448 Thanks, Ron, I'm glad you enjoyed this!
GrandeBombarde16 I always enjoy hearing you play, TIm! And, I still love the sound of that organ The acoustics are great, too. Where is that church? And, can you tell me something about the organ?
RonN448 This Hauptwerk organ is inspired by the Silbermann organ in the Dresden Hofkirche. The organ has three manuals and nearly 50 stops. It was the final opus of organ builder Zacharias Hildebrandt; however, he passed away before the instrument's completion. Gottfried Silbermann and Hildebrandt's apprentices completed the organ in 1755. From 2001-2002 Jehmlich Orgelbau performed a thorough restoration. www.blockmrecords.org/bach/organs/dresden.htm
RonN448 This page features photos from the restoration. www.jehmlich-orgelbau.de/englisch/restorations/organ_hofki.htm
GrandeBombarde16 Thanks so much for the information on the organ, Tim. It's quite impressive. In fact, I never would have guessed that you were playing a VPO.
