In the earlier games, it says in one of the documents found in the anniversary collection, there were 3 different whips. So, who knows if Nathan and Reinhard used the Vampire Killer or not.

I enjoyed Nocturne, I can see why people would be disappointed in it thus far. Given that the games don't give a lot of overall character development to the most of the characters. The show was also written into a corner based on how the first series ended. Dracula and Lisa get to live a happy life. So logically, why or how would Dracula come back? What would be the point? Would they just make a character who has all of his powers and abilities and be Dracula in name only? Chaos personified? I also feel like a lot of fans would just like to have a show where every new season is a new Belmont that goes to Castlevania, whips his way through the Castle, and kills Dracula at the end of it. Which would get old pretty quick. That works fine as a game, but not as a narrative focused TV show. I don't get the hate this show gets, and I have been a Castlevania fan for close to 30 years. I made 2 fan films in high school hahaha

As a kid/teenager, i would always try to come up with ideas on how Mathias became Dracula. I more or less settled on him taking over Vlad Tepes Dracul's life.

Mathias was already a polymath genius with extensive knowledge about alchemy. With immortality, he had all the time in the world to graduate to sorcery. My headcanon is that even with all his loss and misery, he still had a spark of gaining more knowledge. For whatever reason, he came across Vlad Tepes and the two had some sort of a clash for some reason. Mathias was impressed by Vlad's skills which were similar to his own and to honor his fallen enemy, he assumed his identity after defeating him. Kind of like how the Lich King in WarCraft assimilated the Ziggurats as part of the Scourge architecture to honor the Nerubians.

Alucard stated in his dialogue with Maria that Dracula's castle "is a creature of chaos" and that "it may take on many incarnations." Maybe the castle once furnished with food and coin before Dracula turned into a grace hating devilish vampire with dark powers now materializes once every century still furnished with food however the castle takes on different shapes and forms, and may overlap certain items that are lost from previous incarnations. This explains why you can find armaments like sword of dawn and accessories like rings, etc. in the walls as well. Perhaps Dracula being a vampire who once used his powers altruistically to supply his beloved Lisa with all the gold and sustenance she could ever ask for now ever lives on the blood life force of humans and is sickened by the smell of cooked flesh and in his infinite wisdom decided to use his dark powers to materialize the castle meat and his precious coin that once reminded him of Lisa in the walls where he is no longer tormented by the stench of food and the thought of coin, and can now espouse the sweet savor of human bloodshed and rotting human flesh. 🦇🦇🦇 The castle itself appears to be sealed in time making monsters within the castle immortal. This is why when you leave a room and come back the monsters are always there again. This is evidenced by he Belmont clan and Alucard and certain enemies which are also able to make use of stop watches to have an effect on time-flow within the castle. The lack of time flow may be why the meat always stays fresh inside the castle, except for instances when you pick up actual rotten meat dropped from zombie/undead enemies. Being an immortal vampire, it was probably Dracula's intention to protect Lisa from ever having to suffer the sting of human death and to live forever with him inside the castle. Dracula probably sealed the castle in time around 1455 A.D. when he met Lisa. It was later sealed inside of a solar eclipse in 1999 by Shinto Priests, and the castle materializes again in 2035 still being inside of the solar eclipse.

My Theory on how the Cross works in Castlevania Netflix Series is that it only repells those Vampires who actively turn against the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, since God also considers to judge People after death depending on whether they knew him and thus actively rejected him or not knowing him at all and thus not being capable of rejecting him. Ezrebeth has more a Grudge on Re, the Egyptian Sun God, than on the Christian God, so this might explain this "lack" of weakness, That's just my Assumption though.

In the Lords of Shadow series, while Sonia might not make it, the concept of the Belmonts and Dracula being related by blood makes it in. As well as Vincent Belmont. So in a way, her legacy is possibly referenced here.

I forgot to mention, ur actually wrong too. So officially unofficially, yet cannonically canon, is that, they inherited the power from the Time Wizard from Yu-Gi-Oh ! Sonia could easily pass on the Belmont name as she dosen't have to get married. She could have Trevor out of wedlock and train him while keeping the Belmont name.

I think the big issue is this game taking place before Castlevania 3. Other than the whole controversy of Trevor being related to Dracula, the notorious Impaler had no reason to hate Humanity until Lisa was burned at the stake. However, if it was stated that the vampire killer can only pass on to males, and Sonia was Richter's daughter or granddaughter, it could work. She could even start the game as a Belnades, before realizing she's actually capable of handling the Vampire Killer. This game could take place in the late 19th century - of all the games taking place in the 19th and 20th centuries, appropriately as the Church's hold on mankind started to weaken, I don't recall any game taking place in the 1880's or 1890's. This might, however, clash with a story that did take place then and is now part of the canon - Bram Stoker's Dracula.

My headcanon is that Vlad is not Mathias himself, but rather his reincarnation, like Soma. Headcanon 2: Maybe the battle in which Mathias perished ended up causing so much collateral damage, which is why the Belmonts are feared before the events of CV3.

I'm not too purist of what happens in the series but my only criticism is that due to the inability of using the original lore and always trying to get around plot holes makes the series bloated. Lots of corny writing though, I feel like watching the same episode over and over again.

I would love to see Konami revisit Sonia and give her a proper story.

Wai Wai World 2 was way better than 1 IMO. I miss when Konami did stuff like this though.

I love talking about CV64, is far and away my favorite in the franchise. Whether or not CV64 was intended to be a mainline or gaiden game doesn't bug me. What bugs me is the localization f*kery surrounding both Reinhardt and Carrie. Reinhardt is a Belmont full stop, and Carrie is a Belnades. Who cares if Schneider was primarily a surname, and Fernandez was just an outright mistranslation. WTF Konami? Not that surprising though, the 90's and early 2000s was rife with localization issues.

They're just magical refrigerator/microwave combos. Dracula, back when he was still in his Good Husband and Father phase, put them in there for Alucard so he'd always have something to eat.

I was recently getting an old house ready for demolition and I found a mummified rat between the walls. I picked it up (with gloves on) and asked my boss if it would restore some health points if I ate it. I've known him for 25+ years and he immediately knew it was a Castlavania reference. That conversation is what led me to this video. On our break, I searched "Castlevania Wall Meat" and wound up here.

I think for any series, it's a subjective matter of opinion of if its canon.

If I might add, the flies around the zombies at the first stage does survive in the final version, it's just appear less often.

The bit at the start just after leaving the ship is extremely reminiscent of the opening to Rondo of Blood.

I find it better how Gabriel Turn to Dracula (i know it is a reboot but stil). It is more detailed abaout the whole process and Not Just he hate the church, because he see them as reason why his wife died. Even in LoS2 the Alucard dlc you are later in a Part of the Castle where Gabriel locket himself after he defeat the Forgotten One,you See writings on the Walls,someone are even writet in blood,how he lost more and more His mind. Even in LoS2 when you read the weapon Details from Draculas weapons they Tell you how he Turn to him.

One thing I find frustrating is that Castlevania has a lot of potential as a tv series with stories that have a lot of room for creative freedom while also having a lot of lore to create a good structure. And the original series did this pretty well, even if people weren’t huge on some of the changes, they don’t break it as an adaptation. However it looks like this series just goes it’s own way completely, where it’s not really an adaptation anymore. I haven’t seen it, but that’s the vibe I get from it.
