    at the point in the video where you say you ain't got a router table, there's a table saw extension sitting in plain view that could be used as a router table... fence already present, hole already made, all you gotta do is mate the router to it and you're off to the races...

    Something you may not know that might be helpful is that DeWalt claims that each full turn of the crank raises or lowers the arm exactly 1/8th of an inch.

    Wear a latex respirator with the big pink 3M dust filters. You can still smell the paint fumes, you just won't get that green dust overspray up your nose....ask me how I know that, LOL!

  • @Rebel9668
    @Rebel9668 Před 22 dny

    They aren't anymore dangerous than any other power tool if you use them properly. A table saw can kickback, an angle grinder can grab ya good...my little brother found that out real quick. Ever used a chainsaw? You just have to always pay attention to what you're doing. I wire wheeled, primered and painted mine in Krylon sea green glass, but ran out and discovered Ace hardware's "94 brand" in Paris green was an identical match and so finihed with it as I couldn't find anymore of the Krylon. Added a new power cord (SJOOW 14/3 looks just like the original would have when new), added a new toggle switch as the original was cracked, and then broke when I tried to screw on the new wiring. The bearings in it were fine so I don't think it ever saw much use (The blade doesn't spin forever, if it does then your bearings probably need replacing). Mine's a bit older than yours, a mid 1950's DeWalt MBF 9". It came with the optional steel cabinet and I think I gave a whopping $35 bucks for it. I like it a lot more than I do my Rockwell model 9 contractor saw.--Oh, and a good local hardware store will have all the screws and bolts for it. I took one example of each size screw, bolt, nut, flat and lock washer to my local hardware store and bought all new ones...set me back maybe another $20 bucks and most of that was for the larger bolts holding the table to the frame. It sure beat wire wheeling all of the old ones.

    Just having one handle in the middle means you'll need to balance the weight of your produce either side when you harvest. Two handles would be better...

  • @lw8882

    Sounds like if the electrical engineer came out and told you what to do, you did it exactly according to his plans and didn't deviate or try and use cheaper wire or components, and then the power company tells you it's not good enough, he screwed you. If you have signed and stamped drawings telling you what to put in, and you put that in, but it wasn't deemed fit for purpose, then he's on the hook for any repairs and upgrades, right? I mean unless you ran thinner wire than was meant to be there to a smaller transformer or something, then it should be on his head, not yours, to cover the cost of the upgrades! That's why they give you a specced drawing - so you know exactly what you need to meet the standards the government puts out. If that drawing was wrong, then he's the one who screwed up, not the power company. Unless I've misunderstood and the engineer who came out in the first place was actually from the power company, in which case your anger at the power company is totally justified in every sense.

    I will never understand why people come to woodworking videos and leave comments complaining about how the woodworker has woodworking tools. "But he is telling US to make these projects!" Yea. Under the assumption, you have basic woodworking tools. If your collection of tools is a drill and a hammer, feel free to sit this one out and just enjoy the content. No one is asking you to have a several thousand dollar CNC. But you should probably have some power tools in the saw family before you look for woodworking project for you to do. Imagine going to a cooking recipe video then complaining the guy has pans, knives or a stove.
