I’ve used it and our results have varied. Need to say that I’ve applied it to a basically flat surface and it did ok after applying 3 coats. The issue is that it’s like water and will run down any opening and leaves a nasty streak and if left stand it will crust up.

I got 1 that is more of a Lowrider style and I am trying to find a good price for it

I had my fbody Chem dipped, any flash spots after the fact would be sealed up with epoxy primer . 😅

Ospho is 45% phosphoric acid solution compared to Easywoods Fast Etch which is about 10%. Works much faster, doesn’t harm the metal, and if you want 10% solution, just add the necessary amount of distilled water. Much much cheaper than using Eastwoods fast etch, plus you can adjust the percentage if you want. It’s typically about $15 a gallon at Ace.

Naval jelly for those pits is actually what ya want ,its blasted and clean and it can do its job. Or some kinda acid like por-15 metal ready or evaporust,or a commercial grade type of stuff at the autobody paint store. Im not up on whats a good acid,but i know to stay away from the brown acid😂 Put saran wrap over it so it doesnt dry out and check in 24hrs if youre using evaporust or por-15 metal ready , they're a little slower and like water. Saran wrap is the deal though. Get em cleaned out and filled and it'll be fine.

So I ran into this issue as well, I actually did use ospho ( Phosphoric Acid) in the pitted areas, I mechanically stripped mine, then wire wheeled the paint and rust out of the pits as much as possible, then ospho 24 hrs, re ospho to re activate acid, wait 5 min the rinse with warm or hot water and dawn dish soap (base) to neutralize the acid, then epoxy or even blast to get the black converted rust out of the if you want. Some will say never to use acid on blasted metal, but I have and then just cleaned it really well, epoxy stuck just fine for me.

Looking good. I see you have made a lot of progress since you started posting. Takes a lot of time and knowledge to tear down and replace panels. I'll keep watching.

Is it possible to add a spektrum receiver to this an put it on a different remote?

It is a model .. I wanted a full size model of a Gemini Spacecraft as a kid. I still want one. This kit is nothing serious to take on the road.

So just some friendly advice on spi epoxy, I have been using it for years, and have had some issues because of improper air pressure and applying to heavy per coat, my suggestion is to spray with hplv gun at 29 psi or higher and apply the first coat light and second and 3rd medium wet with plenty of flash time in between, if not it will solvent pop and look like mini craters on the moon. If this happens it’s fine but doesn’t look as good, the performance is the same, but if you top coat it with craters you will obviously have craters in your top coat, build primer might fill them but If not glazing putty will need to be used.
