2018 Subaru lift gate won’t close simple fix

The lift gate would not respond to any buttons or remote here’s the fix

Read through comments. No... you cant close the hatch and it wouldnt latch even if it was being slammed. This worked perfectly. Friggen weird ... thank you.

I’d like to add that I read the manual, saw many videos and followed it. Nothing helped. Just be prepared all data in ur settings will disappear (I have only date and time settings).

Just push the hatch down by hand,then just use as normal,no need to disconnect the battery done couple of times since I owned my sub,thank you for taking the time to make a video.

I only had to do it once it resets the solenoid .

If you need to get it open, pop the little cover on the inside at the hatch latch and press.down on the actuator. It will them let you manually put it up, and then down. When it gets down, it resets and latches, then works again. No need to disconnect the battery... at all.

i just press the lock button in remote control with unlock button that hidden in liftgate together... problem solved ✅️
