The idea that the Germans could have turned the war around if D Day failed is utterly laughable. They were cooked after Stalingrad. Hitlers hubris and naive optimism that Britain would just fall in line cost him the war.

I have visited Buxton, IA. The foundations of the bank and train station are still there but little else. You can see where the railroad came through and there is a good sized clearing. It is on private property so you need permission to visit. In the countryside near the town there are still many houses that were moved from the town and made into farmhouses that still stand today. There is a very well done 2 part documentary here on youtube about the history of the town if anyone is interested.

Don't where all this jibberish bout GTA 5 nowadays is coming from, for me still have a blast playing this game and I still enjoy it's story, it's main charactes, missions, graphics, visuals, dialog, ending (plan C) etc... now it is not perfect nothing is but GTA 5 will always be my favorite video game of all time.

I haven't gamed seriously since 2012, back in the xbox 360 days but I got injured at work recently and had to take time off. I bought a ps5 a shit ton of books to pass the time and ever since touching rdr2, I've barely read a chapter and I don't plan on doing so until I finish the game 😂

Well I personally love both. So yeah. Especially episode 3 is a freaking masterpiece I never cried so hard during a TV show.

GOW 2018 revived a franchise that everyone was certain had died. All the while telling a gripping story that was beautifully paced through and through, and looked graphically stellar. RDR2, while it is a great game for sure, is just a sequel/prequel which, to be honest, I can’t bring myself to replay more than once, cos the gameplay is so fucking overly realistic that it’s boring at times. Honestly, felt like I was playing a real life simulator at times with the health core system, the having to shave, the wearing the right clothing for specific weathers and the game obsession with taking control away from you cos of scripted sections. I literally got a mission failed screen once cos I was about 5 feet too far behind Dutch in a mission once. Basically, RDR2 doesn’t feel like a video game to me. It feels like Arthur is a Tamagotchi I have to look after, and the gameplay isn’t gameplay, rather a movie I can control…

Please do AC Odyssey.

Haven’t seen the show but haven’t really care for it nor did it appeal to me. I hear it’s good but from some stuff keep seeing online and differences, there are some differences that were changed for the sake of change and others that actually worked as an alternative

I love how in this alternative timelines the axis power are the winner but Italy is knocked out like it didn't even exist, in the man in the high castle Italy his seen as part of the great nazi reich, probably because we surrendered in 1943 and the war ends later, so Hitler chose to conquer it and integrate it in the reich, I don't know if this should be possible, during ww2 Hitler freed Mussolini from his prison after hi was arrested and he put him in charge of the Salo Republic, which was a puppet country but still a country, so why Hitler conquered it?

the truth is that Germany got extraordinarily lucky during many of the precursor/early events of WW2. The response to German aggression was horribly mismanaged and many nations were experimenting with their own forms of fascism (which stalled them). Germany wouldn't realistically have the manpower to subjugate and control the world as in the game, where there are columns of German soldiers walking down cities in the American southwest. Even if D-Day failed they still would have lost.

The show did a pretty good job as an adaptation, but like most adaptations, it has to condense so much that it's impossible to do true justice to the original. It's definitely not horrible and the actors and sets were all fantastic, but so much great content always has to be cut

Actually one of the different things from the game and from real life is that Einstein never left Germany in the game and helped create the technology the nazis used to win the war

As a fan of both, the game has much more emotional impact during the huge character changing scenes than the show. In part because you play the game. However I also feel like having longer, extremely intense gameplay sequences between cutscenes makes you feel like you're on the journey with Joel and Ellie. The show is very good and the Bill episode was amazing compared to the game but I do feel like we missed having a lot of the stealthy, intense, gameplay sequences. Without them we miss the struggle in part. Too much story not enough infected, hunter or firefly encounters to know how hard the journey actually was for them. (By the way they freaking nailed the whole winter portion of the game with David and the cannibals)

As somebody who played the game after watching the show, (please don’t come after me) the show is definitely an incredible adaptation, staying mostly true to the source content while also being a well directed and written show, I think the game develops everything better. You are more immersed, which is a given considering it’s a game as opposed to a series, but I really felt like Joel, and Left Behind and the David scenes managed to switch the characters without messing up the flow. All in all, 10/10 game and show.
