Waste of time video….
That's super cool! I thought you had to use a trencher for this kind of job.
Thanks for watching. I’ve also seen cable wire ran this way too
Thank you for this, super helpful!
You’re welcome and thanks for the feedback and support
Back up wrench
Use enough Teflon?
How do you fix when it’s stuck and not turning anymore
Sounds like it’s wear and tear. Needs to be replaced. 2 ways to replace. Dig out and replace or clean out the pot and remove guys and install new one
Good content. Although I would note I have had 20 of these in my yard for 25 years. Its much easier to replace the guts of the thing with no digging involved. Only once in 25 years did I have to dig one out and replace it. A truck had driven over it and broke the housing.
Also, I have installed one of these on a sprinkler spike that I can connect to a garden hose. You can take the guts out of one in the ground and use the housing on a spike to troubleshoot issues with the mechanism without having to get back down on the ground to reinstall it. Saves the back and knees.
Thanks for watching and the support. I usually change the whole thing. Customer paid for the whole sprinkler, I like to make them happy. But if it’s a tight squeeze or a lot of roots, I will just remove the guts. And it’s best to clean the pot before, and after removing the guts, makes it easier when installing the new one
What’s the model number for that valve, I have exactly the same system but don’t know what valve to buy
I changed 3 different types of valves. Rain Bird, Irritrol, and Hunter. Most popular valves
Is this worth learning to fix myself? I was quoted $150 to fix this from someone I know.
That’s a fair price. Parts Tools time and labor your about that price. Sometimes it’s in a bad spot or tight squeeze.
@@tonybahri the first guy never got back to us. A new one just quoted us $475. Still reasonable?
wow make it look so simple. Thank you
You’re welcome. Thanks for the support
Man, I was getting ready to do some crazy stuff like dig up the soft line and install a ball valve to turn off my backyard sprinklers. I was worries about potential leaks from that due to freezing. But a cap is all I will need. This is why we have professionals lol. Thank you for this.
Thanks for watching. You can cap/plug sprayers or lines that have other sprayers so when you winterize the water is mostly out of that zone.
Thank you! From someone who has been pretty frustrated with my annual problems! Looks pretty easy peasy...
What if the mower cut off the whole top part that you twist off and can only see the inside? Does the whole thing need to be removed and replaced? New homeowner and new to irrigation systems 😅
If it got chopped you’re most likely to dig it out and replacing it. I have video on that also.
Such a great video. I've recently replaced all my heads, fixed cracked lines, dug/re-dug them to the exact heights of the yard. Even replaced 6 inline zone valves and wired them to my timer. But for the life of me, I could not figure out how to adjust these impacts and all the damn water spraying fast af. I really thought I would figure these out with out instructions. Thank you!
Nice. You’re welcome. I’m glad I can help. Thanks for the support. Sounds like you did quite an upgrade on your system.
@@tonybahri it's been a ride but it's now up and going. The grass/fruit trees are happy. Totally worth it ! Ty!
The best thing for homeowner with sprinkler system is to know your system. Helps out when there is a problem or future work. Saves time and cost
Amazing. Thank you.
You’re welcome, thanks for the support
best one yet, other ones don’t show closing up the drain on the bottom. thanks!
You’re welcome. And thanks for the support
Do they make right handed backflow preventers? The pipe leading to the sprinklers is to the right of the pipe coming out of the house and so the shut off valve sits against the house because they installed a left handed one backwards. Also, what if your state requires that only a plumber with an ASSE certification fix your backflow.. I mean they won’t know.. so who cares right? or is there a permit process?
You can use the same one just turn the shut off valves the other way, but has to be taken apart for adjustments. I think most states require a permit or license plumber to install back flows but not for repairs.
Great video. The thing I would add is put the canopy on snuggly before turning the water on and then listen for the pop sound of the poppet to ensure the pressure is completely creating a vacuum otherwise you make still experience leaking or overflow.
satisfying fix, that KBG spreads so well.
Well, hmmm I think I buried mine under a dirt pile. 🫤
Could be or maybe it’s clogged and no water is coming out for you to notice. If you have a rough idea on the area, you can poke around.
I have no idea where mine is buried. It's the only one on the side of the driveway. No wet spots and no hissing. I can't go around poking the entire yard. Any ideas?
@@locutist probably clogged. Poke around or have someone by the controller turning it on and off and maybe you can hear it. I’ve had luck with that few times
Excellent! Thank you very much!
You are welcome! And thanks for the support
Don't put the dirt on the walkway! that would make to much sense!
Thanks for watching.

Can you pull up the sprinkler when it is not turned on? We bought a house and some of the sprinklers have roots growing down into sprinkler so the water doesn’t spray correctly. Thanks.
Yes you can. Just be careful pulling them up without ripping the cap off. I’ve seen few my customers use a shop vac to remove the loss dirt.
Life saving video. Thanks man
You’re welcome and thanks for the support
shouldn't you have let the copper cool down more before turning the water on? just curious. not judging
I did let it cool down for about five minutes or so naturally. I don’t want to cause any stress cracks. Usually, by the time I put away all my stuff away. I start heading inside and then turning the water on.
Very useful video thank you

Why not just use one of these? czcams.com/video/7OqjjdLA_58/video.htmlsi=FNS7xpe3PwbZu5pc
I'd use a torch to heat pipe up to make connections
Where can i get a tool like that?
But its not a directional drill
Directional boring, also referred to as horizontal directional drilling,
I agree it's boring but it's not directional because of limited ability to control the direction and zero to control pitch it's rod boring with some model of ditch which plow machine
How much do you charge to replace 1 of these?
These are really easy and simple to replace. I wouldn’t waste your time hiring someone. 🥰
You are putting too much force on the existing piping. Support the existing piping with a second pipe wrench or another tool. What are you going to do if the pipe attached to the spigot breaks off or becomes compromised inside the wall or house?
Hello. I wouldn’t say it’s too much force. Pretty much threading the new valve on, and just tightening it enough with the wrench. One Inch copper pipe is pretty heavy duty. I would be able to feel if I was going to twist the pipe or do damage. Then I would grab a 2nd wrench. Still have to be cautious. Most times, I do use 2 wrenches when there is a shark-bite fitting inside and the pipe starts spinning. 3/4” I just remove the whole unit and use a vice grip, then solder it back onto the main line.
Nice video 👍
Thank you
Dude, that was super helpful! Thank you!

MashaAllah
What is the fucking point of this video?
These are my favorite, they have a key used to replace the internals so you never need to dig them up.
They are cool sprinklers. They make that authentic sprinkler sound. I also use the key especially working around roots. Sometimes, if the pots too full of debris or its stripped, I have to dig it out
Hello, I replaced the bonnet and poppit and it still leaks out the tops around the black o-ring. Any suggestions
I’ve ran into that problem a few times. I had to put 2 o-rings, sounds silly but it worked. Or if you can find a thicker o-ring. There’s a few febco units out there that the thread sits a little lower for the repair kit fitting which doesn’t seal 100%
@tonybahri Thankx for the tip I will try it out.
What if it still leaks with the new pieces?? It doesn’t seem to be leaking from the O-ring, but straight through the middle
I was able to fix mine with a bag of 10 different o-rings from lowes and one size stopped the leaking after trying a few differnet ones
That's why you air out your system before the freeze
I’m blowing out the pipes and sprayers with air. Pretty much removing the water
Couldn't hear over the water
What!?!?
The biggest mistake I noticed with 12 inch pop ups is when the water feed line comes in from the side and there isn’t an automatic freeze protection drain installed on the bottom. Water gets trapped, causing it to freeze and crack during freezing temperatures.
I love it! Awesome edits bro
Appreciate it! Thanks for the support
I would have just replaced the guts.
There are are few ways to replace a sprayer. I dug out this one because I needed to move it away from the cement. And I replaced with with a Rain Bird from a Hunter. I also have a video showing a replacement without digging.
replace these things with rotors.
Some still prefer these sprinklers. If you have time to maintain them and the right water pressure, they work fine. Otherwise, rotors are the way to go.
Easier and quicker to just unsrew the top and replace the guts. Save the container in place and just switch out the insides. No need to dig a big hole. Takes 5 minutes or less.
It was quick and easy. I dug out this one because I needed to move it away from the cement. I also have a video showing a replacement without digging.
