How to fix leaking backflow preventer Febco

How to replace a Febco 765 backflow pressure vacuum breaker repair kit for sprinkler system. Backflow leaking from top. Backflow broken on the top. Replacing backflow Bonnet and poppet assembly repair kit. Febco 905 A Watts brand.

Great video. The thing I would add is put the canopy on snuggly before turning the water on and then listen for the pop sound of the poppet to ensure the pressure is completely creating a vacuum otherwise you make still experience leaking or overflow.

Hello, I replaced the bonnet and poppit and it still leaks out the tops around the black o-ring. Any suggestions

I’ve ran into that problem a few times. I had to put 2 o-rings, sounds silly but it worked. Or if you can find a thicker o-ring. There’s a few febco units out there that the thread sits a little lower for the repair kit fitting which doesn’t seal 100%

What if it still leaks with the new pieces?? It doesn’t seem to be leaking from the O-ring, but straight through the middle

I was able to fix mine with a bag of 10 different o-rings from lowes and one size stopped the leaking after trying a few differnet ones
