Hey Guys, I am thinking about a different path in life, to be exact becoming a software developer, BUT I want to ask you guys that do this stuff on daily basis, how important is math? And can you be a good developer if you didn't "love" math in school, or even thought sometimes "man this is hard" I would appreciate some feedback, Thanks for everybody taking the time out of their day.

I am an IT Director and your content is spot on. My path was very similar, from front line tech, to systems analyst, to architect, to PM, to management, to director. I will also testify that delegation requires a bit of letting go of your own quality standards. I've been an IT pro for over 35 years and I will say that most of the professional skills among my generational peers are not developed or practiced in the younger generation. Technical writing and diagramming are lost arts.

"So many dev have a natural feel in the same way that are really talented auto mechanic kind of knows their way around specific engines almost instinctively. Developers really get to know their way around code almost instinctual ..." developers do not become this instantly. I wish i did 😅..These are for mid to senior developers . When you're new to developing apps/software/system, you need to do research and practice to become this. We kinda have this "instinctive" skills due to our knowledge and experience. Gotta start from somewhere to become this, applies to all professions perhaps 😉
