With #trainspotting undergoing a renaissance thanks to Francis Bourgeois and friends, we thought we'd make a little video to celebrate our #RailwayFamily and the fun we had bringing East Midlands Railway's 'Miles' character to life, in time for Christmas.
We want to say a big 'thank you' to the teams at EMR, Atomic, Mark Denton Esq. and the team at COY!, for bringing Miles to life in the first place - and to all the railway people across the network who have made us, and our children, welcome over the years.

In 2018, four-year-old Rhoda Jones became the youngest person to cycle from Land's End to John o' Groats, in just 22 days, 3 hours, 26 minutes. She was narrowly beaten by sister Ruth (5) who became the fastest on a trailerbike.

I am planning a trip from Ireland to uk for my brothers wedding, I also want to cycle to make an adventure out of it - I am very nervous of leaving my bike with bags on the car deck (damage and theft) but of course there is no way around it - although I am thinking to take my Brompton and travel light.....
Put your valuables in the bag(s) you can reasonably expect to take with you on the vessel. Risk of theft is very low, I’d say, and leaving clothes in the top/outermost parts of your luggage both helps to protect the rest of the contents, and makes them harder to find if you don’t know what you’re looking for 😉 Good luck with your trip!

Brilliant video. We are travelling Hull Rotterdam in the summer. Have you guys cycled from Europoort into Rotterdam? Is it easy?
Thank you, John! We are a bit further south from you, so have previously used Hoek van Holland rather than Europoort. We found decent infrastructure right to the port, there. Rotterdam isn’t exactly the pinnacle of the Dutch cycling experience, but we’ve been there, and we’ve ridden through Hull - I wouldn’t worry about it! 😜

Yeah, it’s all completely fake, Peter. It’s not a child on a trailerbike, filmed with a GoPro, that would be too simple. We filmed it on a green screen and the lorry is CGI. 😜

What size your road bike and what your height
You really dont have better places for a young child to be riding instead of a busy highway? People are idiots, its viral for that reason. Kids ride bikes in America too......not on i95 tho

We really love Lewis. Definitely headed back again before too long, we hope! The Hebrides are a brilliant place to cycle tour with children. Our last visit culminated in playing the tuba with Stornoway Salvation Army band! 🤣

Nice cycles those Islabikes, must admit it they are a sealed BB I don't normally touch them if running ok, being a former cycle shop manager I do all my own repairs and do work for free for people on low income in my local area
Both my kids had them when they were younger. Even shipped them from England to the netherlands. Loved those bikes! Kids used them for cycling to school and cycling holidays
We know a family whose children have crossed the USA on Beinn 20s. They are a wonderfully versatile bike. Interestingly, the older ones are best suited to touring loaded, as they had more spokes!
