Merci beaucoup ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Merci beaucoup ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I like how you made your own pin wrench, very ingenious! When I did the trim cyls on my OMC Cobra which is very similar to the Merc, I left the cyls on the boat, and loosened the end caps with them still installed on the transom mount. That way I didn't have to disconnect the hydraulic fittings which on my salt water boat might have been problematical. Once I got the end caps off the rest of the job was pretty easy.
It was a good video that helped me, but did you know that YOU INSTALLED YOUR PISTONS UPSIDE DOWN!
My 3.0 runs rough/stalls when advancing from idle to low speed. If I advance throttle quickly the boat takes off as expected. It’s only the low rpm area where things big down. Suggestions? No problem starting either.
Thank you for the details! Truly
22:51 whu you hide your multimeter under your arm?:)

The taper side of the jaw expanding nut goes towards the jaws this is why it was being stubborn trying to expand the jaws smart guy
i have a question.... my 3.0 runs perfect ... untill i ride it about 15 min.. then spitting and sputtering; I changed the points and condenser. I also emptied the tank and made sure to run non ethnol for a few time. Any ideas on proper trouble shooting methods as i dont like throwing parts at things... tks
This method makes a good wood spliter
Thank you so much
Can you run it with no y pipe? Like right off the risers
Thanks. Very thorough.
Merci beaucoup ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Why the music doesn't hear what you saying
Should the bearing be pre-greased by hand before installing it??
Great video and now subscribed. Followed the instructions and working great. Only problem is turning the idle screw anticlockwise doesnt have any effect on the idle and ive unscrewed it until its nearly fallen out. Assume something in that mechanism thats not working / broken?
Mine was didn’t that. I had to adjust my linkage.
I think you found your calling.... amazing videos.
I damaged one of the threads in the cylinder where the line hook up. Any idea what size tap I need to chase the threads? Thanks!!
Should be a standard inverted flare fitting, maybe 3/8 - 24, but not entirely sure...
Really nice job in the clear explanation and visuals. Thank you for your help.
Are you not doing this channel anymore? Why is it that every time I ask a question In the comments section, no one ever responds.😅
I rebuilted my carburator and noticed a that I was missing the filter, the ball and the clip of the acceleration pump although the spring is present. What are they supposed to do? You did a fabulous job with these videos. Looking forward for your next ones.
How do you wire it up the other way so that the limiter works
Thanks, Buddy.
Video was a bit long... HOWEVER, very good info, and I personally enjoyed how you voiced your thoughts, concerns, warnings, caveats and strategies. For me it was great. THANKS for your effort, I was blessed!
Love the helping hand lol! Made me giggle! 🤭
Nice, thanks for the info
Great info on trim cylinder rebuild thx so much just did both of mine.
awesome video, I'm trying this weekend.
Thanks for your tips man!! I have a Bayliner too. A 2001 Bayliner Capri 2150 with the 5.0 so basically same boat! I changed my impeller while the drive was still on it but now i wanna pull the drive to inspect the bellows.
Had me watching until the 3-in-On Oil came out. Not even the right oil for Gramma's sewing machine.
This is very helpful however, please leave out the romantic music because I keep hugging my wife instead of working on this project
Thanks for the video. Actually stopped to watch the full MC Hammer video from back in the day. That's awesome.
Nice job ,going to repair mine thanks
Good stuff but too much over explaining and repetition!
Greetings from NY. Is it possible to do this job with the trims still attached to the boat but obviously disconnected from the outdrive?
If the barring and carrier are not installed backwards like this video, the barring can easily be changed out by twisting the barring sideways using the alignment tool and then slid out hrough the slots in the carrier. The carrier should last a lifetime because it receives no wear. Using a sleg hammer should be avoided.
That music
now i see you do not rermove that corrugated sleeve around the middle of the gimbal bearing, thanks for letting me see that. also that grease hole alignment, nobody else even mentions those parts. lot of super important info you shared with me, thanks
Gelcoat with q-cells and wax is a fantastic fairing compound. The ratio for a creamy peanut butter paste is 1 part gelcoat to 4-5 parts q-cells...2% wax, catalyze as you always do.
Excellent!! I did that a few months ago in puerto vallarta Mexico, a had a really stuck sterndrive. It took me 2 days until I almost gave up, when I was about to move the engine I sat on the ground, I was having a beer because it was very hot and it occurred to me to use the hydraulic system to my advantage. it really works just make sure you lock the upward movement and have a second person help you with the trim button
Hey man my rams won't move unless I swap the lines to the pump and reservoir. Do you think a rebuild will fix the problem 🤔
Done amazing video my friend thank you you save me lots of money
If you put on just enough paint with an appropriate size foam roller, you can tip with that roller, going slowly and lightly.
The yellow dot needs to be clocked at 10 O-clock position when inserted. It's in the technical manual and in the instructions for the new bearing. You installed it wrong!
Thanks much for the help. Your calmness and explanations made this a breeze. Much obliged.
Do a layer of chop strand Matt over the 1708 weave to get a smoother easier to finish surface
What an awesome, helpful and detailed video. Thankyou for your time and effort. Sir, you are a champion...
