I worked for FedEx in the late '80s as a field service tech installing/repairing Powership computers in companies and FedEx station systems... dummy terminals, fax machines, and alarm systems running around in those Astro vans. It was a great job!

They hire people who can barely put their own pants on by themselves and have managers who are incompetent.

FedEx could be such a good organization, but they're a joke from top to bottom. Management is generally incompetent at all levels.

So glad you landed on your feet! I lost a 10-yr textile job back in 02 that I loved. I was a company man and didn't realize how much of my identity was tied up in that place. It took years of bouncing around to somewhat get it back together. It wasn't a skilled job - wish I'd have gone that route. So glad you're not haunted like I was. God is good!

wow don't want to move but want to be a mechanic? go back to running freight then. mechanic work is bad for your health and underpaid, maybe start your own shop and contract with the truck owners directly? most places fedes doesn't own the vehicles anyhow.

Question. Just changed head gasket and timing chain. Starts fine but starts revving at high rpm. Throttle has no effect. Any idea? Any help will be appreciated

Making 28 years in any one company in this era is unusual.

I was a member of two completely different teamsters locals. One for 7up in Conshohocken PA & running a machine at a medical packaging company. Both companies gave us horrible contracts at the threat of closing down & moving away. They both did move away within 3 years of that contract. 7up closed their doors and kept out last payroll check & vacation pay. It took union 5 years to get me two weeks vacation i was due. The union did nothing for members to get other job's in both cases. We paid all those dues for absolutely nothing.

Just started the video. No idea but I’m guessing they fired you for making too much money and it was probably via email. And I guarantee not many people at frdex knew or cared. It’s a cold workplace out there.

It is a cronic situation - companies have no loyalty to their employees because of the requirement to pay ever higher dividends to those who in reality, contribute nothing tangible to that corporation. Best of luck to you and yours

This is sad to watch I work for express in New Orleans and a couple months back they sent me and a couple other drivers to come and take trucks from a station out of Jackson,MS it felt so sad seeing what the company is doing to us and I honestly feel like we're next
