But does it force you into a front wedgie like the original? I have Expedition and it’s my only complaint. Thanks for the video.
Great chat 😎 Cannot find any second hand ones here in OZ at the moment (sick of losing money on brand new bikes) 🍻
Thanks for the comment from Down Under, Dave! We LOVED our time in OZ!!! Hang in there...I got lucky and found mine gently used with 500 miles on it.
My owners manual says front tire 29 PSI and rear tire 36.25 PSI for just the rider. With a passenger it's front 31.90 PSI and rear 39.16. You should consider checking your figures before posting your videos or consider explaining that your using more PSI for 2-up riding or heavy loads. Some people may take it as gospel and over--inflate their tires. :)
Ahhh...thank you for the correction, Steve! I didn't have my manual with me and pulled that up on the adv forum. 😞 I'll pin your comment to the top!
I took one by AliExpress and its not working, the Speed got down, try to make a video using during a trip on highway
Would you not cut the chain with an angle grinder instead of using the chain breaker to do it if your replacing the chain?
If one owned a angle grinder - probably.
Looks much like my Fanttik branded unit 🤔
I'll be there are several similar ones out there. How do you like yours, Bill?
I am on #2, replaced for charging issue (1st one would not fully charge). My replacement after two uses is exhibiting the same issue. I plan to replace with MotoPumps. I love the portability and that it’s rechargeable and you don’t have to pull side panels, deal with alligator clips connect to your battery, etc. However, I would not trust it. Hey next time I see you, let’s compare the two models.
Sorry to hear yours has had issues. I did a lot of research and the Syncwire has excellent reviews. I didn't want to "cheap out" on something I might need in an emergency. Yes...let's compare. Maybe at Coffee Cruisers on Saturday?
@@MotoPhotoAdventures 👍 sounds good, I’ll try to make it there Saturday
The power of the battery and the power of the motor makes quick work of any situation requiring inflation process.
Yes it does!
I have 2 wired inflators. Having them is like having an umbrella, once I got them, I've never had a flat! BTW, I was looking for a link for the Syncwire, I did not see one. Another You Tuber, recommended the GOOLOO GT150 Tire Inflator Portable Air Compressor, it was about half the price of the Syncwire. When It arrives I will do the same test you did!
Thanks for the comment, Steven! I have since added the link in the description. As with any product, there will be cheaper options. But my research led me to this one. I didn't want to "cheap out" and end up with a product that would die after a few months of storage and be usuless when I needed it in an emergency!!! :-)
Thanks for this. It seems like every bike I've ever owned had a "do this as soon as you get it home" list. Any more for the Tuareg?
Hi David! Welcome to the channel. Well...we've got an ENTIRE playlist of mods and hacks you can check out: czcams.com/play/PLMpCu16Bx7xMLl4ieTqBAce95UHO5UuGT.html&si=8jOBL6HmbZusR4ij. I guarantee there are some clever ones in there that you will like. Plus I think you'd really enjoy some of our adventure travel episodes. Here's the first big adventure we did after I picked up the Tuareg...1800 miles around Nova Scotia: czcams.com/play/PLMpCu16Bx7xPTXncD0Nn3BNq6E_id2I5B.html&si=0n4yMBbT8SGy0wrg. Enjoy!!!
The rear rack looks like it has two holes in the plate that might accommodate a RotoPax mount? Can you confirm?
Yes indeed! They have a plate that accommodates the RotoPax system.
@@MotoPhotoAdventures That's awesome! Sort of makes the decision for a luggage system easier for me! Thanks!
@@davidrosen5137 I'm glad we could help! Contact Mark at the Outback Motortek East office. He's very helpful. Tell hi. We sent you.
@@MotoPhotoAdventures Will do!
That IS cool!!! - Chris
Nitecore AP10 made something similar to the Exped Widget (no cellphone charging function), but Nitecore is a pretty reliable flashlight/charger manufacturer so it probably won't have the button problems the Exped has. Might be worth a shot too. It can pump for 40 minutes per charge.
Very cool! Thanks for sharing.
Cool camper! Where you going in it!
Steve brought it to the Palmetto ADV Rally this spring, and will probably have it at Wailin' Wayne Weekend this fall. Are you going to WWW rally? We sure are enjoying your epic photos and stories from the Alaska trip!!! - Chris
@@MotoPhotoAdventuresThanks, it is a great trip so far! No plans for WWW but was thinking about something in the fall. My wife may kill me though...
@LivingOffTheSlab haha...we're applying for our "kitchen passes" early! 😅 I enjoyed your series on the Windy 9, including the 555. Since WWW is in that area, we were thinking of staying in Athens a few days and riding those routes.
Appreciate the information! I get most of my photography tips from a Podcaster! - Frank
Glad I cold help, Frank! I know not many people geek out over things like power ratios, recycle speed, and the Inverse Square Law...HA!!! But I'm glad you enjoyed it. 😁 - Chris
Excellent: glad to hear there’s more moto-related content incoming.👏👏👏
Thanks Marco! We've been super busy working on individual photo projects. But don't worry, Jason is editing the next Panhandle Adventure Trail episode, and I'm editing another video, plus we're finishing setting up the CZcams studio so we can do podcast-style videos and reviews. So we'll have more content coming soon!
Nice tutorial. I didn’t like the fact that OM’s installation videos were separate.
Glad it helped! They make a great product.
I got front 16-39 rear and chain all new ready to go until I saw your video . Why u went back to front 15? Is. It ok to put 16-39 ?
If you are mostly riding highways, that should be fine. But you will lose a little low end "grunt" in first gear for off-road riding. I liked 16/41 and 15/39 the best for my style of riding. But I like some off-road riding too. Each person is different. Try it and see if you like it!
Chris and or Jason, which DaVinci Resolve do you use ? DaVinci Resolve 19 Public Beta DaVinci Resolve Studio 19 Public Beta DaVinci Resolve 18.6 DaVinci Resolve Studio 18.6 I just purchased a new laptop and I can't seem to get Adobe Premiere Element's to install (which is what I use on my old laptop). So, I'm not going to fight it any longer. I've used Hitfilm Express some. But, I keep hearing more and more ppl talking about DR. So, I'd like to try it. Just didn't realize there were multiples to choose from. Thanks,,, Mike

HAHA!!! Yeah, we saw a lot of mis-information out there and wanted to make sure it was easy to understand. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Also, there is an aftermarket bar. I have a system mounted to it and works well.
That's great to know! Thanks for sharing.
Check out the THOR bash plate. It is meaty.
Excellent recommendation! Thank you, Leroy!!!
Congrats!
Thanks!
I am blessed to live near a world-class custom seat maker (Mr. Ed's Moto in Albany, Oregon), so I get to watch the entire process of building my custom seat in person. It is a fascinating experience! I always go for custom vinyl (alligator!) and thread colors, and really like the varying foam density layers Mr. Ed builds for me. Once you have your motorcycle seat customized for YOU, no production seat will ever be good enough for you. It's THAT much better.
I believe you 100% Paul! Maybe we should get a seat made by Mr. Ed to compare?!? 🙂
@@MotoPhotoAdventures I think so, yes. 👍
Where can I find Mr. Ed's Moto? And how are the prices? These Sargent seat folks are already raising prices vs what's shown in this video. Not a fan of those business practices. I was going to order one until I saw that - scammers.
Interesting, on your X-Cape the front indicator placed on a different place and not on the side case of the Screen.
That's interesting! Are you saying your indicators are in a different location than ours?
Yes, it is clear to see on your Video, on each Side of the TFT Screen case is a Plug, but not used, there are my Indicator. Maybe in the US are other regulations than in Germany for Indicator place on the X-Cape.
@@mauriceb.5318 that is very interesting! You are probably right...there must be some kind of regulation here in the US that made them change that in the US models. Anyway, great eye for catching that!
Yeah my bike has the indicators on the side case of the screen. In from New Zealand. Slight nuances with the bike in different countries. I enjoy the bike. Nice review.
@@leroydebeer35 I appreciate the feedback! I loved my trip to New Zealand!!! Cheers, mate...

16/39 here. I am liking the bike even more now! Looks like I lost about 500 to 600 rpm at 60 mph indicated. Can a smart person here do the math and tell me how far off my speedo is now??
I'm glad you like the new setup! You can always buy a plug-and-play speedometer calibrator at amzn.to/2Pahs8C. Otherwise, just use a GPS or your phone to determine exact speed.
@@MotoPhotoAdventures Thanks for the reply and for you video! Was easy to follow along to change sprockets.
@BulletTacos you're very welcome!
from Damascus to your campsite in this first vid, how many miles did you do and did you finish Section 1 of the MABDR or finish prior?
Oh geez man! That's a great question. Because we started in Johnson City, we didn't actually begin the official MABDR until after lunch in Damascus. So I don't think we finisht Section 1. I'm pretty sure that first free camp spot was at Witt Riverbend Park. It's free, and picturesque, right along the river...but you will be woken up by trains throughout the night!
@@MotoPhotoAdventures thats very helpful. I know you guys stopped a bunch but did you have a “budget” miles per day for planning purposes? I am going with some guys in October and I am the navigator.
@@thecorporategypsy we usually have a "short day" campsite and a "long day" campsite picked out for each day. Once we stop for lunch, we evaluate how we're feeling and decide which we're going for. At that point we'll call to check availability. We never book ahead because our travel time is largely dependant on what we find to record, who we meet that might turn into a fun interview, etc. But I think we basically stuck to about a secion per day. Sorry I'm not much help. But when you record as much as we do on your trips...it'd difficult to plan ahead!
@@MotoPhotoAdventures thats helpful thanks!
Wait. Please address the elephant in the room: where the heck is Steve?
Couldn't make it on this one.
Did you mean to say you started at Fernandina Beach ?
OOPS!!! Yes, I believe it's Fernandino Beach. Thanks for catching that!
Yep!
Great video guys! The wireless mics worked well. In the car. I am still using a mouse to edit, though Jason did suggest I learn the shortcuts a very long time ago! Everyone should start with DaVinci... Then you will never need to upgrade and relearn a program! - Frank
I'm still using a mouse too, Frank! But I try to learn a new shortcut key with each video I edit. 🙂 - Chris
So if there is no Steve Is it still MPA ie The Who without Keith Moon, The Beatles without John and George?
AWWW...we're blushing that you would even mention us in the same breath as those super stars! 🙂 For the record, I started MPA to document the modifications I was making on my CB500X. It really took off when Jason and I collaborated on the Mexico trip. Steve joined us for the TAT trip. He's an awesome friend and we have indeed formed a great bond. But he is an extremely busy guy. In the same way that he isn't always able to be a part of the reviews and tutorials Jason and I record, he isn't always able to get away on all the trips Jason and I take either. For example, he didn't make it on our Sunburn Circuit series...which is why David Mays joined us. But he's always invited and we've got a fantastic adventure coming up in the fall that will hopefully bring the 3 amigos back together again!
@@MotoPhotoAdventures 😁

Thanks man!!! It's always great to hear your feedback...and gentle pressure un Jason. HA! 🙂
Looks like a beautiful ride!!!
It was indeed...at least that first day! More bad weather was headed our way!!!
@@MotoPhotoAdventures oh, the anticipation builds!
My buddy and I call the tank bag problem our “Tap Tap” 😂😂😂😂
HAHA!!! I'm glad I'm not the only one with that problem. 🙂
yay, Ive been waiting patiently for this trip to come out. lol
Thank you so much for your patience. We've been SUPER BUSY!!! But we're excited to finally be working on getting the new series out. 🙂
Man goes one foot on the PHAT and gets stuck!
That beach sand is no joke!!! 😂
@@MotoPhotoAdventures 😂🤣😂
The packed sand looks fun. The spots the AMEN moto guys sent me to in South Florida, not as much. - Frank
Well that's what's so funny about Florida sand...it's completely weather (and moisture) dependant! We got lucky that the previous night's storm packed everything down. 🙂
Great video guys, and fun. I don’t own an Aprilia as you know, but I love my Sargent seat, it’s fantastic. The seat is much firmer than my squishy stock one, slightly wider and the pitch more level, which all makes for a very comfortable seat. It has the relief channel as well. Their sales and customer service is second to none. PS if you are active or retired LEO or military guy or gal, just give them a ring and ask for the” good guy” discount.
Thank you so much for the feedback! We totally agree...their seats are amazing, and their customer service is second to none. Thanks for the tip on the military discount!!!
Thanks for the video! So is the seat you got lower than the OEM standard seat? 33.9"" OEM vs 33.23" for the Sargent seat seems like their numbers for their 3/4" lower seat. If that's true, I will probably just get the standard one. I'm in the same boat as you with a 30" inseam and I'm barely on the balls of my feet. I ride mostly off--road so getting a foot down kinda matters. LOL PS: The turnaround for the seat is now 2-3 weeks as of May.
Oh wow...they must have gotten a backlog of orders! Which is a good sign, right? Yes, the Sargent seat is lower than original Aprilia seat, but taller than Aprilia Comfort Low seat. But it has a more curved shape up front between your legs, making it easier to reach the ground or dab a foot in tough conditions. I'm really happy with it. But remember I've also dropped my suspension 3/4" with the AltRider Variable Height Linkage. You might want to check out our video about that install...also a product I highly recommend!
@@MotoPhotoAdventures Yeah, I don't want to lower my bike but if that Sargent gets me 1/2" closer to the ground, that's all I need. I ride mostly off-road so lowering links aren't an option for me. I bought some Black Dogs pegs that are 1/2" lower than stock so a lower seat will still give me leg room on the pegs. I just hope the seat is really lower than stock... lol. Thanks man.
@@stevec3936 you're very welcome! I ride off-road a lot too. I found the Aprilia Comfort Low seat was actually really well suited for that. If I wasn't so keen on getting the comfort "pocket" available in the standard height seat, I would have gone with Sargent's low seat too. After riding on both for a while now, I think the Sargent seat I got is equally good off-road, but WAAAY better for long distance comfort!!! So it's a winner in my book.
@@MotoPhotoAdventures Thanks. I sent Mary an email asking about the height of the standard seat before I send my seat away for a few weeks... haha
@stevec3936 sounds good! Exact heights of each seat are listed on their website as well.
Looks to be very high quality. So Chris, will you be using your Cool Cover in conjunction with this seat?
That's a great question! It's still on my Aprilia Comfort Low seat. But I will probably try it out on this new seat! It's a little wider. But I think it'll stretch. I'll keep you posted!
I have Revolution stamped on my seat! - Frank
That's awesome! You got it for the KTM? They make amazing seats!!!
I am doing this on my Tuareg, but my concern is that if the bolt is no longer the weak point, will it now possibly damage the transmission instead. As much of a pain as drilling out a broken bolt is, I imagine having to replace a cracked part of the transmission would be far worse. I guess I am just hoping the root or whatever I hit is weaker than that part of the transmission.
Althought the titanium bolt is stronger than the OEM bolt, it will still break if enough force is exerted on it. It's not make of kryptonite! 🙂
@@MotoPhotoAdventures Thanks. I hope you are right. I am sure you are screwing it into a softer metal than titanium.
Hopefully the thing that gives is the shift lever/brake and nothing else.
Did the throttle spring mod yesterday. Much improved. Thanks 👍👍
Thank you so much for the comment, Mark! Glad you like the mod...
Nicely done, great preview, looking forward to coming attractions.
Thanks! Jason is working on Episode 1 as we speak. Stay tuned! 🙂 - Chris
Thanks!
I did and I commented as well
Thank you so much, Dolly!!!
