The way the one writer wants people to stop viewing her story from the views of her white family and respect the Indian view is appalling to me. If a child was taken and essentially groomed by the ones that took them in our time. Would people believe showing respect and honoring the life that the abductors had forced on to the child would be the right? I believe showing respect to the culture who indiscriminately end the lives of entire families while they took the ones they saw as useful is a moralistic fallacy. Would they believe the same thing if white men had been raiding families this way. Absolutely not. They'd want reparations and reservations in atonement.

Whata great story. I picked up a book in a 2nd hand store. The Trails of Pete Kitchen. I had never heard of him, but learned a lot. Real cowboy stuff! My favorite part, albeit short, was about Chise and Cochise. What dad wouldn't have made peace if he could. Youve made me highly aware of Pete's compassion. Ive yet to visit his ranch and museum but will soon. I live in Tucson. I have been to Cochise's Stronghold. Its incredibly spiritual. Thanks for this❤

If they were whites dressed as Indians, there has to be a reason why they would raid their own people. The reason might be that the whites were adults who had been captured as boys. If you review Susan and Gregory Michno's "A Fate Worse than Death," which is an encyclopedia of white captives, some boys enjoyed tribal life. Herman Lehmann is a good example of a boy who enjoyed being an Indian for nine years until he began to question himself. Finally, Quannah Parder himself told him that he should return to his family. During his years with the tribe, he rode by his own home a number of times (See - Nine Years Among the Indians). Also, nearly all Indians usually had someone among them who could understand and speak English well enough to understand a plea in English, which is understandable even without language. But it is also a given that Texas was a wild place for the longest period. What remains in my mind is why did they want to kill Miss Witmey?

It is the communist driven slow march through Western institutions to destroy our cultural values and intrinsic narratives in an attempt to destroy America itself. They have obviously succeeded when it comes to higher education. How do you make Americans hate themselves and want to destroy their own culture? Rewrite the stories, justify and rehab bad guys into misunderstood noble savages and the recast our cultural heroes into colonizer villains. I blame too much Dances with Wolves not enough Last of the Mohicans. Thank you for reminding people about the Actual history of America. Keep up the good work.

Very nice person, elderly white couples treated him as if he is their slave. We Indians (I mean country India, ) don't care who you are, if it's injust we don't tolerate. We respect and treat foreigners well, because we believe, don't know how angels appear. It doesn't mean we are not prepared if we are attacked by strangers. The looter Churchill had to pack and leave our country shopping with their whole army. Our country was never under slavery. Mexico was the rightful government , like it or not . When they defeated Santa Anna later , then they became the Republic of Texas . Lol I saw that. I hadn’t heard that the Hungate massacre might have been perpetrated by whites, but I guess it’s possible. In Irving Howbert’s book one of the Indians they interrogated said it was a group of Arapahoes who killed the Hungates.
