Dorman has the updated cover, just get Fel Pro Permadry Gaskets with the Grommets

You do not need to remove the spark plug wires. Just the coil connectors. Then you can lay the whole assembly down to the side. Just less to have to do. I did this job on 8 minutes form start to finish.

I was impressed with how clearly you explained this repair. Made it actually easy! One slight additional recommendation: when you are draining at the beginning, BE PATIENT! For me, a few times, it seemed to be running dry; but wiggling the hose for a few minutes both loosened clogs, unkinked the drain hose, and seemed to create some siphoning. (Note that the hose comes out from an angle bracket, so pushing it back in can open a kink.) It took several minutes each time to get the flow going again. I got a full 5 gallons out after I thought it was already finished--would have been a mess!

This video was a great help as I needed to replace the pump on my Kenmore front loading washer (79640272900). The "tab" underneath the washing machine basically needs to come down/be flat in order for the pump-housing to be able to slide back and down. In addition, in case some folks are doing this and run into the same thing that I did where the replacement pump is not identical to the original and there is no "plastic case" that goes around the new pump, don't worry about it, it's not needed. My original pump in my Kenmore washer was a Hanning DP040-038 -- but I don't believe they make those anymore and the replacement was a LG 4681EA2001T and it works just fine.

Great easy fix! Thanks Mark where the screw go into the drain pump so you know where to replace. Also my new pump came with another O ring? There is already one on the pump too. I guess I didn't need it, no leaks so far.

Note that on some machines you can NOT access the screws he shows from the front at 2:33. You will need to either drill through the metal frame to access them from the front or remove the front panel as shown in most videos.

Did you use a gasket sealer with the rubber gasket?

The fix to oil burning and consuming is AFM delete for 200.00 never have to change valve cover unless gasket is leaking but then it's only a gasket ..good luck ..ps just type delete AFM obd2 for 5.3

This is the EASIEST way to replace the pump! I just completed this last night on my 14 year old LG Tromm. A bit of a tight squeeze underneath but three screws and two electrical connectors and this project will be done in about an hour. I also suggest replacing the supply hoses if they're over 5 years old while you have the washer pulled out. Thank you again for this video!

If I want to go from a 60/40 to bucket seats do I only need to swap out the center console and driver seat, or do i need to swap out the passenger seat also?
