Yes, there is new content scheduled for tomorrow. I did this one as I realised all my shorts were showing a 45rpm record, and I wanted to do at least one with a 33rpm album. That one, I picked up at the weekend. Thanks

@@mrrgstuff Yes, that's very true. I'm sorry if my comment was a little hard. I appreciate it's a hobby and I'm sure you would agree it's not the highest fidelity. I did find your video interesting. I had a wind-up record player as a kid. I spent many hours playing 78rpm records left to me by relatives. I think from memory it had a rather good sound box and sounded quite nice with long play needles.

@MichaelBeeny Yes, indeed, it certainly is not high fidelity! 😅. Actually, I tried recording it on a modern Pro-ject turntable first. Google certainly understands what it is. CZcams seems very unfussed. Only once I had determined that did I try it on the gramophone.

Yes, gear noise is a problem. There are other technical solutions I may try to improve the situation. I also usually place the microphone near the end of the horn, but didn't in this case. Thanks 👍 😀

У меня когда то была идея собрать подобный проигрыватель, но я думал собрать его на пневмо турбином моторе с редуктором и ножным насосом с ресивером. Накачал воздух в балон и открытием крана регулируешь подачу воздуха и обороты пневмо турбины. Думаю вам стоит это попробовать изготовить. С вашими навыками это будет не трудно.

@bigcheeses It's a good question. The turntable is already quite heavy, though it would cope with more weight. @vinylman1973return It was just an experiment, and I am not claiming it is a good or effective way to clean a shellac record. However, I don't believe this hand cleaner is wax. It does clean as dirt is clearly removed. I will try soap and water in a future video, though I know lots of people do use that. Thanks

I can't really advise on how to buy one. Whether it is worth getting one depends on what you intend to use it for. They usually can be made to play, but they are not suitable as everyday players for your 78 collection. Even after quite a bit of adjustment, they are still very rough on the records and don't sound that good. Hope that helps.

These fakes machines can be a lot of fun, but they are not sold to actually play records, though they usually will.
