    • @PracticalMechanic
      @PracticalMechanic Před 3 dny

      Yes, remove the water from the reservoir, and dry the filter media for storage. You can store it in the (dry) tub, or somewhere else to be reused. Drain and store the pump and tubing somewhere dry where it will not get damaged, such as a garage or basement. Good luck! 👍

    I was fighting the bearing and backing plate on my ES330 so hard... That trick with the bolts and washers was pure gold. I was able to get it to move a little bit, then I kind of hit a wall because the bolts kept slipping, so then I tapped it around with a hammer after that and it came right out. Whereas before, hammering was doing nothing. A combination of techniques was definitely necessary. Thanks again and I hope this helps others.

    • @PracticalMechanic
      @PracticalMechanic Před 10 dny

      Depends a bit on the type of vacuum you are using. If you are using the pool pump to drive the vacuum, and the output (D port) goes to the vacuum, then the "drain" position is best.

  • @Your5StarMarketing
    @Your5StarMarketing Před 11 dny

    The problem he is using a very small filter I have a sand filter which holds 150 libs not so easy to remove the balls. I did find a shortcut, just take the value head off after you have shut off all water going to pool, and use a hose with a powerful nozzle on it and rinse them off and let water drain out the bottom of the filter, this did work pretty well. Hope this helps, the biggest problem with the balls is you cannot backwash to clean the filter after putting Algicide in So if you don’t clean the balls first, and you jump algicide in, it’s just really affecting your pool.

  • @tonnictv
    @tonnictv Před 12 dny

    Whenever I backwash, I get a ton of sand coming out. Is that normal?

    • @PracticalMechanic
      @PracticalMechanic Před 12 dny

      It seems like inevitably some sand comes out. It can be minimized a bit by rinsing after the backwash step to let the sand re-settle before filtering again.

    Hello! Thank you so much for this information it was very helpful! I just did a back wash and rinse using a hose to direct the over flow elsewhere. But now when I turn the filter back on and make sure the hose on the left is “unlocked” it’s spewing out of the filter. How do I get this to stop? I appreciate any recommendations.

    • @PracticalMechanic
      @PracticalMechanic Před 11 dny

      Okay. Hmm, not sure what could be the problem. One thing to double check is that the rubber gasket in between the two parts is still in place and didn't accidentally fall out in the process. Also the "unlock" setting sometimes doesn't fully unlock, so good to double check if that can go any further. Good luck, hope you get it sorted out! 👍

    Have the Bravos 300 Quiet (model # mvwb450wq2) and getting an F51 code. Pulled the metal wash drum out and didn't find anything (socks, etc) trapped under it or blocking drain holes in tub. Cleaned all parts/pieces before reinstalling and still getting F51. Lid locks, fills with water, and then won't do anything. Replacing the RPS/Rotor Position Sensor is the other thing I've seen indicated for this F51 code--would a faulty RPS be enough to prevent machine from starting agitator plate action for wash/rinse modes? I guess the RPS can fail without warning--machine worked great until a week ago. Also, is the stainless wash drum supposed to spin freely by hand when machine is off (mine does not)? Thanks for any info/insight.

    • @PracticalMechanic
      @PracticalMechanic Před 20 dny

      Bummer! I know this can be so frustrating! I recommend you check 2 things for F51: 1. Check the 1/4" hex (Allen) bolt on the bottom of you washer, it could be loose. To fix it, tip the washer about 45 deg, have a helper hold it, then reach under with a 1/4" Allen wrench and tighten it up. 2. Check the 2 plastic "hub" pieces under the agitator. One can look fine and the other can be totally stripped. They look like this: amzn.to/4cvzy9P Good luck, hope you get this sorted out quickly!

    • @PracticalMechanic

      Yeah, it just stops flow through the pump. To stop flow through the B ports, there are 2 plugs that should have come with it. Put those in the B ports to stop the water from flowing out, if that's what you need. Good luck!
