Find Your Art Style Fast Without Talent or Drawing Skill: czcams.com/video/Sphhptb871g/video.html
This video dives deep into the often-misunderstood realities of the art world, particularly addressing the value of drawing skills and the perception of art within the educational system. I argue that people who can draw photo-realistically may have invested years honing a skill that holds little practical value in the real art market. Instead of genuine appreciation, most feedback from the educational system is superficial, aimed more at validating the curriculum and the teacher’s role than recognizing true artistic talent.
In the real world, traditional artistic skills like perspective, composition, and color theory are often irrelevant. What matters most is whether the artist can provide value to the consumer. This stark reality reshapes the questions artists should be asking, steering away from improving traditional skills to focusing on how their art provides value. Through exploring case studies of artists like Damian Hirst, I demonstrate that successful artists often thrive not because of their technical skills but because they understand and cater to what the market values, such as status and recognizability.

I love making art and I love being surrounded by it. I sit here in my little studio, and it's good for my soul. I never went to art school, so completely self taught. I have no particular style either. One day I might do abstract, next day maybe an animal. I have many, many pieces on my walls. My friends tell me I should sell at local shows, but so far I haven't attempted that. I have just been given a commission to do a forest scene with animals, and I am thrilled, but also nervous about that. So, wish me luck. I have no desire to be a professional painter. I just do it for the love and joy of being a creative soul. I love your videos.

Basically, you are reducing art to commerical success. Ugly Art. Which amounts to chasing gimmicks and novelty. And what you are calling art style, or recognizability is just branding ~ like cereal boxes of corn flakes. I want to recommend a video by Odd Nerdrum, about how the philosopher Kant "changed our heads" about art. I have been researching how non-representational art became, supposedly, popular ~ but it wasn't. It was pushed by "The Art Police". Check out Nerdrum's talks on art. I learned a lot. czcams.com/video/EcjVXBXn7b4/video.html

I honestly prefer to be alone most of the time. I find nothing wrong with it, only other people think it’s strange. I rather be in my little art studio creating my own little world that makes me happy then out and about with strangers acting like they care about my day or having those horrific awkward conversations with people that lead to nothing but uncomfortableness. I have a close group of friends that i love dearly but i honestly don’t feel the need to meet up at a bar to catch up on life all the time. They understand that and that’s why I love them. I think the older we get we realize a lot of truth within ourselves and no matter what it is, you follow your intuition and your heart. Seems like you have been through dark times and I can tell you one thing for sure, there is ALWAYS A RAINBOW at the end of that storm and everything that has happened will lead you in the direction in life you need to go. Even if it doesn’t feel like it at the moment ❤

I mean this is just loose collection of vaguely related conjecture : directors cuts have existed since the 70s, and rereleases started happening shortly after VHS got started, products have resold themselves with minor variations since time began from waffle makers to TVs to clothes. It's not a new thing, and its not all related to the movie market. Subscription models for many software is in part to keep earning money, but also to make it harder to pirate software. Much of the standardization of cars in the 60s has to do with conserving costs, but also standardizing safety features and gas milage, ect. We knew less about how to make a car that drives long without breaking down or killing someone in an accident. Now there are laws to ensure those standards. Which increases uniformity. If you're point is that companies will try to reskin products for increased profit, and to decrease development costs, then sure, yes, that's true. But you're acting like you discovered some connection between these things, rather then just stating a core model of business.

When I was a kid, I could find an impressionist painting at a garage sale or in a thrift store. I live in Austin. An average person could collect art and love it.. easily find it. The “starving artist sales” are replaced with sweatshop basic generic reproductions at a craft store… on a good day.

“The most important moment in the life of an artist is when he is born, and when he is establishes an autograph.” Taking this to heart. Seemingly all influential artists have a brand, proko has proko tv, Kim Jung Gi has superani. I think I should make a brand around manga artists too, because it basically has few waves in the art environment or even the media environment as a whole. The problem with focusing on branding is lack of time for practice and struggles to even get people to notice it. Anyway nice video, thanks

Hello Dries, I've really enjoyed your expertise and knowledge that you've shared. If you could take the time to give an opinion it would be much appreciated. I've had a decent career as a professional artist since 1991. I've created many pieces and mastered many mediums over the years. A globally recognized artist friend of mine has implored that I create a new brand for my fine art, and disassociate it from my 30 year body of work (mostly commercial and bodypaint). At 53 years I feel it is too late to start anew especially with the looming threat of AI. I also like my given name and have issues trying to wrap my head around a new alternate identity. Thanks again for your advice.

I started my life as a professional artist in college by making life-size chalk portraits on velvet. As an avid entrapraneur and stay-at-home mother I spent 15 years dabbling in a variety of art genres (photography, fashion design and eventually graduated to painting flowers and birds on the clothing I designed and sold. It was 1980 when my precious family life exploded and eluded restoration I took my broken heart on a 6 month retreat to kive on a sailboat in the Virgin Islands. It was there in 1980 that I began sewing sundresses for myself and my new friends and my retreat developed into a full-blown, word of mouth business eventually leading to mass production hand-painted merchandise which I sold to gift shops on St. Thomas, Puerto Rico, St. Martin and Anguilla. My main products evolved into hand-painted and silk screened t'shirts which were distributed through gift shops to people from all over the world. People paid upwards of $125. for some of my most popular t'shirt designs and framed them as worthy works of art to display in their homes. That was about the time of actual artistic burn-out and I relocated to a small beach shanty on the little island of Anguilla where I found a whole new way to live, think and grow as a painter. I merged into painting larger works primarily of the island people, flowers, fish and birds that I was surrounded with. It was then in 1987 that I began doing gallery work, primaril on stretched canvas and Bristol board..
