In this video we venture deep into the Capilano River canyon through dense rainforest to go fishing for coho salmon. The morning turns wet with heavy rain and hail despite warm temperatures, and we get to witness a creek waterfall expand to ten times its normal size! I catch what I think is a cutthroat trout on my first cast, which becomes a curse as I don't hook anymore fish and Ryan and Jacob who joined me both lose all the fish they hooked. I got to test out my new Korker Terror Ridge boots and Triple Carbide Spiked soles, and I fell in love with them immediately. I also used my CSO 8wt Stave fly fishing rod, and even tried a single hand spey setup on my backup rod, which needs some work. I always love the time I spend fishing the beautiful Capilano River, and I look forward to the next trip.
