If you play with someone who doesn’t back out, swords are better but if you’re playing with someone who knows what they’re doing with an axe sword is worst

The whole running away then critting and running away strat is so annoying for me, and if they have higher ping, youre garenteed to lose, but with that whole strat, you could argue that you can just do the same thing with a sword

This just depends on what you prefer. I'm new to pvp, and I've only really tried sword pvp. I've tried the axe, but I just don't like how slow they are.

Axe is better before enchants (although sword can still be used to great effect). Axe and Sword are situational side-grades with enchants. Sword is strictly superior with enchants, the exception being shield breaking
